"It's just as I suspected," Damien said to the anxious family immediately as he walked back to the waiting room.

Danielle and her mother stood up. "Will he be alright? I can't lose my husband."

He let out a deep breath and answered, "We can only hope. I have discussed with the doctor who would be attending to him."

Danielle's mother fell back to the chair, feeling downcast. They had hoped and prayed it wasn't something serious, but it turned out to be.

She let her tears flow down her eyes, heartbroken and shattered. Damien felt his heart tighten seeing how broken she was. What was he expecting anyway? She's his wife.

"Don't worry, he will be fine," he comforted but that wasn't enough to mend her broken heart.

Danielle drew closer and hugged her mother, trying to remain strong even though she was shattered deep down. They had been treating the wrong illness for a long time and that made his condition worse.
