Chapter V (Blood Contract)

A huge smack in the face abruptly awoke Damion. He was surprised by a bald man whom he had seen earlier. It was Pedro. Pedro was staring at him with flaring eyes.

"W—who are you?" Damion inquired.

Pedro grinned at him and responded, "You haven't heard of me in the news?"

"Haven't you seen this pretty face on the wanted posters of the police? Have you not realized who I am?"

Damion quickly shakes his head, stuttering, "I—I don't have any idea who you are."

Pedro suddenly gave a fake smile and grasped Damion's cheeks in anger. "O—really?"

Later on, it hauled out something behind his back—a silver revolver. It slowly cocked the hammer of the revolver and gently aimed it toward Damion.

Damion was frightened when, suddenly, it stuck the silver revolver in his forehead. He quickly pleaded, "P—please don't kill me!"

Pedro slowly reaches Damion's left ear and whispers, "Oh, you want to live?"

Damion desperately responded, "Y—yes!"

Pedro suddenly chuckled and abruptly pulled the trigger of his silver revolver right at Damion's left ear.

[BANG! —RINGING NOISES]

Damion's left ear was tingling in a straight line, as if a nuclear bomb had blasted his eardrums. He was shuddering while hearing Pedro's muffled laugh and the two men behind him.

"Haha! You got 'em, Pedro!"

A few moments later, Damion's left ear's hearing went back to normal. In a serious tone, Pedro questions Damion, "You want to live, right?" His tone was serious.

It then gestured his hands from his back and commanded, "Bring me the dark wooden box, Honcho!"

The dark wooden box dilated Damion's eyes.

"T—that dark wooden box!" he frightfully said in his thoughts. He quickly recognized the dark wooden box where the parasitic creature had gone inside his body.

Later on, Pedro showed him the dark wooden box, which was empty. "Now, where did you put what was inside this box?"

Damion's mouth was barely open, and he was about to answer. However, as he was about to say a word, a voice unexpectedly spoke inside his senses, telling him, "Don't answer him!"

He then noticed that his surroundings were freezing.

A dark, misty figure of amorphous shadows hovered behind Pedro. That voice was from that amorphous misty figure as it spoke again to him and warned Damion, "If you tell him where it was, you and I will die!"

"Don't be a moronic creature!"

All of a sudden, the surroundings began to return to normal.

Damion's mouth suddenly replied to Pedro, "I don't know."

His sudden reply shocked him. Despite knowing he shouldn't say it, his mouth unexpectedly opened and the words slipped out.

[SMACK!]

Pedro abruptly smacked his right cheek and seriously warned him, "Don't make me waste my time, kid!"

"Next time, the bullet will pierce right through the back of your head!"

It shuddered Damion, as he didn't know what to say to Pedro. His mouth again opened, and he pleaded with Pedro, "P—please! I don't know what you were talking about!"

Damion knows that it is not him. He was so shocked that he immediately closed his mouth, and he slowly shook his head, trying to say that it wasn't him.

Veins popped out of Pedro's head, and he suddenly went to pull the trigger of his silver revolver towards Damion's right leg.

[CLICK—BANG!]

He also threw a huge punch, resulting in Damion dryly puking as his stomach squished in discomfort.

"GWAAHK!"

The bullet that went through his right leg was bleeding, while the huge punch he received made him feel dizzy. "W—why? Did I deserve this?"

"No, you do not."

The same voice from the amorphous, misty figure that he saw earlier again spoke to him. He then notices that the area around him starts to darken.

"You want to live, right?"

Damion was so frustrated with what was happening that he didn't know what to do. In a sorrowful voice, he muttered, "O—of course I do!"

He is so much in distress, and you can discern that he is apprehensive about what will happen in his life—his tears start to stream down his face.

[SWCHOOOOP!]

A gravitational shift quickly dragged him into a dark hole and transported him into hazy surroundings.

He was so surprised by that rapid occurrence that his eyes dilated in total stupefaction. "Huh, where am I?"

He noticed that he was standing in calm waters. The place was serene and so mellow, yet it would make you agitated. "This place was kind of quite familiar."

From afar, he saw a silhouette sauntering toward him while you could hear it speaking, "This is my realm, the realm of the abyssal peace."

He was then appalled as he saw that it was himself who was talking!

This other self of his had a menacing look, covered in dark shadows and walking as if it could burn him to dust.

This duplicate of himself abruptly burst and covered his entire body with purple and dark flames.

"Huh? T—that entity! Was that him who I saw in my strange dream earlier?" Damion quickly recalled it in his thoughts as soon as he saw that unknown entity.

His eyes were so astonished that he suddenly felt the unknown entity release some strange pressure that made him fall to his knees as it drew near him.

Suddenly, it cocky-greeted Damion again: "What's up, you useless human?"

"It's me again! Don't be scared!"

[CRACK!]

Below the ground, in the calm waters, a strange, dark vine sprouted and rooted him.

[SNAP—FIRE!]

In front of him, a blazing purple fire suddenly kindled that glow in a tealight candle. A few seconds later, a two-straight line of tealight candles with an offset of three feet sputtered, rushing like wooshing winds.

Then, at the end of the tealight candle, the unknown entity was standing, glowing in a purple and dark flame. It flickered in front of Damion and touched his forehead, where a sudden gravitational pull pulled them together in a dark room.

In the dark room, Damion can feel that his body is floating. "Where am I?"

About a few seconds later, a purple flash blinded him, and a gigantic piece of white paper materialized.

Damion was so confused, as there were no contents written on the paper. He questioned inside his thoughts, "What is this?"

From nowhere, a deep, warm, and solemn voice answered him: "It's a blood contract."

That voice was from an unknown entity!

Damion was surprised as he looked around, trying to find him, but he couldn't. He couldn't comprehend what the unknown entity was trying to say: "A what? A blood contract?"

A spiraling purple and dark flame suddenly spewed in front of him. From the spiraling flame, the unknown entity's faceless face appeared and replied to him, "Yes, I can help you to live, but I also need your help."

"I NEED TO USE YOUR BODY AS MY VESSEL!"

The unknown entity explained, "In this world, the Aphenomes were the natural enemies of the Watchers and the Guardians."

"I am a Guardian; I came from the Eloah, whom I served for eternity!"

Damion rapidly blinks his eyes as he takes a deep breath. Then, in a confused tone, he asks the unknown entity, "I don't get what you said!"

The Guardian quickly replied to Damion, "I am a celestial angel."

"However, a Jinn and an aphenome gave me the curse of being a Nayhemsia."

The Guardian's confession, in which he called himself a celestial angel, flabbergasted Damion: "A Celestial Angel?"

His eyes then narrowed. "Aren't angels supposed to be good to humans?"

"Why were you so cocky to me earlier?"

"Also, I don't understand why you look like that. Weren't angels supposed to have white feathers? Had halo in their forehead?"

The Guardian sniggered at his question and quickly responded to him, "We celestial angels also do have free speech. Humans, as easily deceived and foolish creatures, are prone to deception. Your curiosity will kill you ever since your creation."

"I am a Guardian! Being called a celestial angel is a title; I am a Uraf and we possess a distinct appearance unlike humans! We are made from the ever-radiant flames of Eloah!"

"This feature of me that you see isn't my real appearance."

"This is the result of a curse that an aphenome not so long ago gave to me, and it wasn't just me!—there were also others. They are pure evil that needs to be eradicated!"

From the Guardian's right hand, an electric ball materializes into a sharp object. An electric ball materializes into a sharp object resembling a knife made out of a green gem.

Later, the Guardian flashed in Damion's face and solemnly told him while handing over the gem knife, "Now it's in your hands if you want to live."

"You have to sign the contract with your blood."

After the Guardian had said that, it quickly vanished with golden ash.

"Hey! Where are you?"

From his palms, Damion was looking at the gem knife with second thoughts: "What if..."

Damion then shakes his head and clears his what-if's thoughts. "AGHHH! Whatever!"

He gashes his right palm and directly stomps it on the big white piece of paper in front of him.

When he stomped his blood on the white piece of paper, it suddenly revealed unknown characters.

He suddenly felt thousands of needles impaling his head, and something strange was flowing inside his body. Suddenly, his surroundings start to crack like broken glasses.

INTENSE CRACKING NOISES!

The wild noise from the cracking glasses aches his head. "AGGGH!!! F*cking hurts!"

A few moments later, it was all quiet.

Then it heard the Guardian say, "Good Damion!"

"Now look at me slaughtering these Jinn-infested humans!"
