Damon left the General's room feeling dejected, sorrows piercing every single cell of his body, his mind fogged when nothing but confusion, and anger rushed into him from distinct directions. He's feeling different emotions at the same time and that's driving him insane, he just wants to feel some ease, some sort of solitude no matter how little it might be.

It was at this time that he wished the darkness would claim him, it was at this time that he wished not to feel any form of emotion, he just wanted to be engulfed in darkness... Darkness is always the best way to leave one's sorrows for a while and not alcohol.
