"Coming back… to that place?"
Shudder crawled at her spine the second she thought back of the endless hallways. The exhaustion that followed right after vividly emerged in her mind. No matter what, Elizabeth swore to not come back to that kind of place. For it was no different than a death sentence to her.
"I also heard that you have a trouble staying in that mysterious gallery for a while."
'It's not even in the level of 'trouble' anymore…'
Within, Elizabeth rebuked what Aaron said while she revealed a bitter smile. For an instant, Elizabeth grew a little pissed off and wanted to end the conversation there. Still, she held on and continued to see why Aaron wanted her to do that.
"I have no excuse, sire."Despite the amount of ridicule from his surroundings because of the figure's kick, Andre bowed down his head and wiped off his blood from his mouth. "It is truly an unexpected situation. Nevertheless, I've failed my task to capture all of the elves. But If sire give me one more chance-"Before he could finish his sentence, an invisible person struck his guts and made him puked out all of the contents in his stomach. Chuckles and giggles resonated with the background, while some of the murmurs sounded like a thunderclap to him."What is he? An idiot?l"He just further embarrassed our organization.""He acts so high and m
'How?'That was the very thing that came to Andre's mind when he saw the dagger protruding out of the nameless wizard's neck. He didn't feel any chant at all, so how could this murderer easily throw a dagger so precise and faster than the eye could see.'I felt like I've seen his face before, but I'm not sure.'As he takes a closer look at this murderer, Andre feels he had met the man at some point but he couldn't remember. Big chance that the murderer was just a random novice that pissed him off on the way and then he gave the guy a lesson, a total stranger. But now wasn't the time for him to muse over the identity of the murderer. Time was ticking and he bet his counterpart wasn't the type to be patien
"Just me?" picking up the message as if she was special, Elizabeth probed, "What do you mean? What's so special about me?"When Edmurd was about to reply, a yell echoed throughout the area. All of the elves who heard that display a smile or relieved expressions. It was something they wished to hear all this time."We will arrive at Earlham City soon! Take a temporary stop as our rangers would scout the place!"Shortly, everyone halted their movements and went down to the ground to rest their wearied legs. It was at this moment Elizabeth awed by the elves' constitutions for they've been traveling nonstop on top of the trees for a few hours. Something that was much harder than running on the ground in her opinion. Unhurriedly walking within the wilderness was a man that seemed to be in his thirties. A monocle with silver wire was donned on his right eye. On his grip was a walking cane, with the tip of it in the shape of the head of a golden eagle.Five azure flames were flying around him and illuminated his path. Sometimes, the flames would flicker as they followed on both sides. He wore an uniform robe which was adjourned with platinum plating medals on his left chest. Behind him, two lines of wizards slowly accompanied him. Not too fast or too slow, and they would always be mindful to have eight meters distance with him.Meanwhile, many more wizards were teleporting amidst the Trees branches to chase their newest targets. A group of elves that appeared to be scouts. Since they appeared around this place, there must be other elvesDark Eater Chapter 149 - Opportunity
The moment the bone spear had pierced its flesh, unbearable pain surged within and it felt an indescribable sense of heaviness, as if it had been thrown into a deep swamp, unable to move even for an inch.Trying to suppress the urge to growl in pain, Edmurd glared at the sudden appearance of a human in uniform. A single glance to his chest, the insignia of the Sacred Heart had told Edmurd where this human came from. However, it seems that the man predicted it's movement by targeting the weak elves' children. Not to mention, the girl who held it's oath was among these children, so there wouldn't be any second thoughts for it. Edmurd faced all of the attacks head on, but the last one was something that it didn't anticipate. Not all of the artifacts would have the a
"Looks like I've saved you this time, Guardian."Didn't wish to chase the retreating middle aged man, Aaron glanced at the giant python and summoned a ball of blood. Then, he shaped the blood into a javelin before he threw it as fast as he could, right at the center of the photon's head. The sound of something breaking ensued and the python screamed in agony as the flames that made its body became smaller. Still, they didn't relax and turned their whole attention to the middle aged man instead."Arcnaghur…" finding that the one who butting in was Aaron, the middle aged man became more interested and less angry. Straightening his robe, the man walked on top of thin air. He stared at both of them before he turned to Aaron and spoke.<
Observing from afar, Elizabeth covered her mouth while opening her eyes wide. The situation on the battlefield between Aaron and the middle aged man was far from good. Not to mention, fear slithered into her heart when her gaze fell to the bone warriors.Faintly, she could hear dying screams coming out of them. But as she focused her attention to the sound, only silence greeted her. An uncomfortable feeling stirred within and she felt slightly restless. For a second, she thought her ears were playing tricks on her before the notion of ghosts and spirits came to her mind."...This is nuts.."Aside from Aaron, there was another matter with Edmurd and the humongous skeletal giant. In the opposite direction, the rangers were fighting against an army of wizards. On he
'I guess his title wasn't for nothing.'Watching how Aaron broke the skeletal warriors one by one with his scarlet club, the middle aged man clicked his tongue as he meditated at the branches above. Sweats drenched the back of his robe and forehead while he observed the battlefield. Though he managed to deal with Edmurd by himself, as he had expected, Aaron's appearance threw a wrench to his plan and made him expend more unnecessary energy.'Should I retreat for now?'Perhaps if he could help his subordinates and those cannon fodders from before, then he could use the advantage of numbers to overwhelm both of them. However, under the premise both of them would still stay around and wait for him. There was no way they would let him massacre the elves' rangers.&nbs
