It might have simply been their leaky windows, but it was the middle of the summer. The chill sent a shiver up Logan's spine, and he started to wonder what they had just let in. The absolute last thing they needed in their place was an evil entity causing problems. His landlord already had that role covered.
“Welp, I don’t know about you, but I’m beat.” Rafe yawned, looking as if nothing had happened and all was normal. “Summoning a demon really takes it out of you! Time to hit the bed!"
Rafe wiped the blood off his finger onto his pants before he turned around and shuffled off toward his bedroom. As he walked, he whistled a happy tune and nearly skipped across the floor. Logan tried not to cringe as each of his footsteps creaked and threatened to break through the old wood of the floor.
It was a bit strange because, even though it wasn’t that late, his body told him that it was time for him to head off to bed, too. Was this one of the side-effects of summoning a demon? Not that he cared. For a twenty-something like himself, sleep was a pastime.
He sauntered across the paint-stained hardwood floors of their apartment. Once he finally reached his room, he pulled off his clothes and tossed them onto the pile of dirty laundry in the corner. Then he hopped up on his twenty-year-old mattress and got comfortable. He hadn’t stared at the hole in our ceiling for two minutes before he was out like a light.
The next thing he knew, the sound of rustling coming from across his room jarred him from sleep. Logan squinted to see if it was a mouse or cockroach that was causing the ruckus, but the room was only illuminated by the sharp red glow of his alarm clock. It read 3 A.M. The witching hour. It couldn’t be. Could it? As his eyes adjusted to the low light, he scanned the bedroom for any sign of an intruder and reached under his bed for good ‘ol Bessie, the baseball bat he kept around in case he found him self in this exact situation. Through the neon glow of the clock, he could scarcely make out a figure standing in his doorway.
“Who the fuck are you? I’m warning you! Get the fuck out of my apartment or I’ll--” Logan started to demand as he climbed out of bed and readied the bat.
His words caught in his throat when he saw her. There was a naked woman standing in his doorway. Her long black hair ran all the way down her shoulders and barely covered her exposed nipples, which were pink and erect. Her eyes shone through the darkness with a purple haze, illuminating her beautiful sharp features. If not for the unusual glint of her eyes, Logan would have just assumed she was a regular woman. Was he dreaming? Or was this what he thought it was? Had Rafe actually been right…?
The dark-haired woman took a step forward, gently placed her
hand on the bat and stared passionately into his eyes as she lowered the weapon. The violet orbs of her eyes were somewhat hypnotizing as they reflected off the shiny metal of the baseball bat, illuminating her beautiful face in the darkness of the night. If he didn’t know better, he'd have thought she was an angel.
“You won’t be needing this,” she purred seductively. “My name is Abina. I was sent by Brethil to serve you, Logan.”
Before his mind could attempt to process the situation, she playfully pushed him back onto the bed. As the springs groaned from the impact, the woman sauntered over to where he lay on his back and climbed on top of him. Then, with a sly smile, she pulled down his boxers.
"Okay, human or do you like master? I want to give you the best night of your life. Deal?"
Logan groaned. "Deal."
*********************"
The next morning Logan awoke to the sensation of Abina's soft skin snuggled up against his own, her head on his chest, and her right leg wrapped around his waist. Words couldn’t even describe the exhilarating sensations that her body felt over the course of last night’s three-hour love-making session.
The dark Elven had fulfilled most of all his wildest fantasies at least those that includes mouth. Abina was a forceful yet sensual lover. She wasn’t one to dominate, but she knew exactly what she wanted, and she was going to get exactly what she wanted in any way possible. The beautiful naked demon finally stirred and rolled over away from Logan's body as his stomach let out a loud growl. She needed to refuel his exhausted body and stamina.
He carefully slid out of from beneath the Dark Elves and tossed on a pair of sweatpants to cover his lower half. As he tugged on his pants, he admired the woman’s curvy body again. Was he still dreaming? He thought about pinching himself, but Abina began to stir.
“Good morning, Master” she mused.
“Morning,” Logan ran his hand through the woman’s dark hair lovingly. “Would you like something to eat? We don’t have much, but I’ll gladly offer you some cereal and a cup of coffee.”
“That sounds marvelous,” she purred, flashing her sharp teeth.
As Logan slowly strutted out to the kitchen, he wondered if Rafe had the same luck as he had. Maybe he was able to summon the perfect stoner dark Elven, if there was such a thing. He laughed to himself and pulled out a couple of white ceramic bowls from his cupboard and two spoons to go along with them.
“Hello again handsome,” Logan heard her say after he finished pouring the coffee, and he looked up to see her standing in the doorway of his room. For half a moment, his head spun as he took in her perfectly naked body, and he could feel his heart hammer inside my chest as if it was a train engine.
“Uhhh, h-h-hi,” he stuttered as he forced himself not to stare at her nipples. Instead she focused on her purple eyes as the room began to slow its spin. “I just finished making breakfast.”
“Ohhh, good,” she said with a sly smile, and then she sauntered across the kitchen and took a seat at the table.
Logan passed her the bowl of cereal and the coffee mug. Then he sat in his own chair, raised the spoon up to his mouth, and tasted a familiar, stale crunch. Normally, breakfast time him thought about how much he hated his job and how much he wanted to just leave and start a new life somewhere else, but today all he could think about was Abina and the incredible night they'd shared.
“I wonder how they are doing?” Logan asked as he looked at Rafe's door. Did his dream come true like his had, or was he just sleeping in until noon like we always tended to do? Rafe tended to stay up late, taking hits from his bong and watching internet videos about conspiracy theories or mythology. Waking up at the crack of the afternoon was pretty normal.
“I’m sure he had just as great of a night as we did!” Abina laughed as she realized where his mind had gone. The black-haired Elve giggled. “Your friend is very well. I was accompanied to Earth by one of my sisters, and I know she was intended for the other man who summoned us.”
“So there are two naked Elves in my apartment right now?” Logan laughed. “I must be the luckiest man on Earth. Wait your sister?" Logan asked.
"Yes. I have six sisters. With me making seven and we are the Queen's concubines that she usually sent to realms where we have been summoned." She gave him that sly smile of hers again.
Logan didn't know what to think, thankful out of the corner of his eye, he saw Rafe's door open. Though he heard small, hurried footsteps race out of the room, he couldn’t see who they belonged to.
“Did you hear that?” Logan asked as he sat down his bowl.
“Looks like they are up,” Liby said, but as he got up to investigate, he nearly tripped over a tiny creature who bolted around the corner of his table.
Logan stumbled backward as the small creature tumbled across the floor and smacked into the cupboards below the sink. The small being stood about three feet tall and had dark green skin and atop his head sat two horns, each looking like they were made of jet-black polished stone. He lay there for a moment in a daze before he shook himself like a tiny dog and leapt to his feet Bruce Lee style. Then he ambled toward Logan like he owned the place.
“Sorry about that,” he said with a shrug. “Not used to these legs yet.” He gave me a knowing look as he gestured at himself. Then the creature looked up at Logan with its beady black eyes in bemusement.
“What the fuck?” Logan gasped as he reached out and grabbed the butcher knife on the counter to defend himself. The little being just looked puzzled.
“Please tell me you didn’t eat the last of the cornflakes,” he said as he drummed on his belly. “I’ve worked up an incredible hunger.”
“What the fuck did you do with my friend? Are you the dark elve that he summoned last night? Did you take his soul?” Logan demanded as he waved the knife in front of him.
“Chillax, Logan” the creature yelled as it held up its hands. “It’s me!”
“What the... Wait, Rafe?” Logan asked as his mind tried to get a handle on what was going on. “Is that really you?”
“Duh, bro. I pay half of the rent, don’t I?” Rafe retorted while he eyed his knife fearfully.
“Depends on the month,” Logan hissed at the creature. “What the fuck happened to you?”
“What do you mean, Logan?” Rafe looked at Logan curiously.
“You’re literally three-foot tall imp with green skin and horns hooves!” Logan gestured at him in disbelief.
“Actually it goblin. And…?” Rafe raised his eyebrow at my concern.
“And that should freak you the fuck out!” Logan said in horror.
“Look at you! Oh God, you look like you belong in a fantasy novel and you're the villain!”
“I take that as a compliment,” the goblin snickered.
“We need to change you back right away!” Logan clenched his fists. “Where is the other Dark Elve? She’s gonna pay for what she did to you…”
“No can do, Logan,” the goblin shook his head back and forth. “I am one-hundred percent satisfied with my bargain.”
“What the Hell are you talking about? What bargain?” Logan scoffed.
“This is what I wanted, my friend,” the goblin chuckled as it scooted over to the breakfast bar and hopped onto one of their wobbly black stools. “I totally asked Brethil to deliver me this awesome new body.”
“Wait,” Logan shook his head as his tried to make sense of Rafe's words. “You went through all this trouble to order a book from the Russia and summon a super-hot elve woman, and you didn’t even ask for sex?”
“Bro, I got my priorities in order,” the goblin giggled as he flexed his tiny arm muscles. “You’re telling me you don’t want to be a badass being like me?”
Rafe shifted his body for a moment to get comfortable, grabbed an apple off the counter, and devoured it in a single bite. He leaned back as far as his miniature body would allow and savored the flavor of the fruit with a long “mmmm” of satisfaction.
“Dude, we have to go talk to your elve and figure out how to get you changed back.” Logan stood up to walk toward Rafe's room.
“No way, bro! I’ve never felt better!” Rafe shrugged and his glittered.
“Could you guys keep it down?” Logan heard a soft female voice call out from across the room. “A elve needs her beauty sleep. Especially when they didn’t get their nightly fill and had to perform such powerful magic."
The Elve sat up from the old leather couch and rubbed her eyes groggily. She looked nothing like Abina, but she was still one of the sexiest women Logan ever seen. Her short blonde hair was styled into a bob that swayed back and forth across her slender cheekbones as she walked. The eve's entire body was lithe and fit like that of an athlete, complete with small, perky breasts, well-defined abs, and thighs that looked strong enough to crush a man’s head. “We may not have done the deed, but I appreciate what you did for me, Keida!” the goblin exclaimed. “Now the chicks are all going to be lining up to get a piece of the me!" “You didn’t have sex with--” Logan started to say, but Rafe interrupted me. “Naw, man. As soon as she changed me into this badass body, I just wanted to sleep it off. Now I just want to eat, get high, and play some video games.” “Ugh…” the blonde elve sighed as she lay her head against the backrest of our old couch. “How disappointi
“Thank you, Rafe,” Logan said with a sigh. “So, what, you guys don’t really have any say in what you do? Like you’re all just subordinates to other Beings? Elves?” “Particularly our master, Lord Voidmoth” Keida said, vitriol filling her voice. “He’s the one who keeps us in line and makes sure that the humans who summon us pay up when the time comes.” “Sounds like a real asshole.”Logan said. Already know what the two women wanted. For him to take them under his protection. Funny as it might sound. Logan was bored and excited enough by this new adventure to give it a chance. “Which leads me to our next question. What are the odds of him coming after you? You guys are supposed to take my soul or something and return to your Realm after the deed is done, as payment for summoning you, right?” “I don’t know,” Keida murmured, and both of the supaused and looked at each other tensely. “We probably aren’t even on his radar right now." "And what happens if yo
As he reached for Rafe, green sparks leapt from his hands as a wash of heat erupted from his fingertips. Rafe saw the deadly projectile as it hurled furiously at him, but he could do little but flinch as it rocketed towards his position. The space in front of Rafe shimmered for an instant, and then a shield of protective green appeared between the fireball and Rafe. Keida attack collided with the bright green wall, curled around the edges of the shield, and singed the area around Rafe in a circle, and that caused the ceiling to collapse around him. The goblin flailed his stubby arms as he fell, but instead of hitting the ground, he collided against the green shield with a dull thud. Logan could barely believe my eyes. He had created the protective barrier like it had been second nature. All he had wanted to do was protect his friend from danger, but his powers responded to his feelings without any sort of conscious thought. “I knew you could do it!” Keida s
“Can Elves even get drunk?” Logan asked the two women across from him as his vision started to blur. The two women both shrugged before Abina spoke up. “Well, don’t you want to find out? I’m sure you’ve been with a million drunken mortals. Can you imagine what it would be like to be with two drunken, horny elves?” They had fond their bar alright, and they had make use of the opportunity to get as close to drunk as they could. The humans anyway. “Oh, I can imagine it alright,” Logan smirked as a hundred different images raced through his mind. “My only concern would be that you’d accidentally let loose your powers while we were in the middle of it. ‘Death by Orgasm’ isn’t exactly what I want on my tombstone.” “That doesn’t happen,” Abina quipped. “Often.” “Fuck it, it’s a risk I’m willing to take.” Logan slurred. The bartender returned with another round of beers, and Logan don’t even remember finishing them. His senses started to feel lik
“Ah, you’re the asshole that Abina and Keida don’t like,” Logan growled, taking an aggressive step forward. “What kinda name is Voidmoth, anyway?” Rafe slurred. “Is he gonna make me a sandwich?” “It’s an old Dark Elves house name, word for a warrior, if you must know,” the man, Voidmoth said. Eyes gleaming. “It’s super gayyy,” Rafe droned. “Gaaaaayyyyyyyy.” “But my name is irrelevant now,” Voidmoth hissed as he ran his hands through his perfect blonde hair and turned to Logan. “The thing is, Mr. Ralston, you have two of my dark Elves. Two of my best ones, I might add. They were supposed to fulfill their duties to you and your friend and then return to us. Thousands of people out there ask for their services by the hour, you know. What kind of businessman would I be if I denied them their wishes?” “Abina and Keida want to stay here with me,” Logan said flatly, making his face expressionless. He was trying to act cool,
Logan's flames began to glow with purple light even though he was readying an attack. That was odd, but he didn’t have time to think about it because Voidmoth was already starting to recover. Logan flung his hands out and unleashed a blast of purple-tinged fire that completely engulfed the demonic pimp. “It’s going to take a lot more than that to kill the Servant of dark realm!” Voidmoth’s voice boomed as he stepped forth from the raging inferno Logan unleashed. His clothes were singed, and his flesh looked a bit charbroiled, but as he paused to straighten his tie, Logan realized the wounds were already starting to heal. Before he had a chance to react, Voidmoth flung another one of his fireballs at them. A shot of purple flame sprang from Keida and Abina as wings sprouted from their backs. “We have to run!” Keida cried as she grabbed Logan by the scruff of the neck and hauled him out of the way. The ceiling of the bar was fairly low, but she was able to fly
Straight from the bar, they boarded the subway and took it to the most run-down part of the city that they could think of. This place might have been a sprawling metropolis, but it still had its hardships. Logan lived in one of the more run-down parts of town, but their current location made his home look like a luxury resort. This part of the city used to be the home of dozens of factories that employed thousands of people, but once those companies began to outsource for cheaper labor, the people here were left jobless and hopeless. The sight made Logan appreciate what little he had even more. A few blocks down from the subway station stood an old house that looked like it had been abandoned for decades. Pieces of its original brick exterior had fallen off and were now laying in the overgrown grass of the lawn. Several of the windows were boarded shut, and the ones that weren’t probably should have been, considering they were now broken beyond repair. As they w
Logan hesitated to open his eyes. The sounds of harrowed screams pounded in his eardrums in the distance, and he was now even more wary to see what he had done. His eyes popped open. The scene was surreal, like something out of a Dali painting. He was still in the house with Kelda, Abina, and Rafe, but the entire world appeared to be distorted and staticky. The images of his three friends were frozen in place. Rafe looked like he was seeing him in a funhouse mirror as the normally three-foot tall goblin towered above him. Kelda’s athletic frame was widened to the extreme, and Abina’s face looked like it was melting. Was this purgatory? “Logan…” an unseen voice whispered through the sounds of the screaming. “Who’s there?” Logan called out though he figured it was probably in vain. “Come with us, Logan…” The voice was distinctly female, but he still couldn’t see anybody. Then he saw it. Out of the corner of his eye, the figure of a woman dashed past his pos
