Chapter 20

In a brief flashback, we see our nearly forgotten friend Lucian staring intently at a dark chopper spider that was flying toward him in the air. His eyes were carefully examining the creature in order to identify all of its weak spots, and his mind was working to devise the most straightforward strategy for exploiting those weak spots.

Before its body could reach him, he expended all of his strength in an unsuccessful effort to aim his weapon at a vital spot that would cause it to expire instantly.

He believed that this would be the only way to end the threat. Soon after that, the spider closed the distance between them, and almost immediately after that, Lucian stabbed his sword right through the joint that was located in the center of the spider, which caused the spider's body to collapse onto him.

As Lucian lay helplessly on the ground with the lifeless body of the dark chopper spider on top of him, he was unable to move any of his limbs. In spite of this, he had a huge grin plaste
