As the days went by, the legion group had gotten over the tragic beast event and had now decided to go out on hunts. They did this for three reasons. To level up, for the coins, and finally for the beast cores which they carved out after the kill. They had restricted themselves to safer areas using their maps. And since they went out on their own, they kept the rewards for themselves. Although they had offered to give some share of their kills to the hunters, the hunters refused and turned them down saying it wasn't right t accept since they didn't work for it."Wow, this people are legit nice. You would expect that they would come knocking on our doors for some form of Payment now that we go out on hunts". Erwin said to his fellow legion members who were all present in the boys room. They had somewhat turned the room to some kind of meeting spot. Here Eiko would update them of their current status and plans. So far they've been functioning quite well even in the absence of their lea
Rodney was about to face three hungry looking beasts all on his own. And it didn't look like it would be an easy one given that two of the beasts were at mid intermediate while the bigger one was at peak intermediate tier. Even if they weren't all at peak intermediate level, leaving one ranking level to the next meant one would meet beast that would prove more difficult than the previous level. And right now, Rodney was about to go up against three of an intermediate beast. One had rushed at him and surprised him with its speed because judging from its size, Rodney had thought it would be a lot slower than it actually moved right now. But he wasn't going to stay surprised for long as he dashed at the beast too. If they had any sort of human intelligence they would have called Rodney's action downright "Ballsy" but having no such level of intelligence, they were unsurprisingly unimpressed.Rodney had now gotten in range with the first one that charged at him and as he was about to jum
Authors note(Please don't forget to vote for the novel and recommend as well. Also check out the sequel to this one, its called "Dark Gene:Rebirth")Day time for the squad had recently become their busiest. As if they weren't out on hunts, they were doing something else that would make them all wonder where the time had gone. This is not to say that they were always together. No, matter of fact is they spent most of their time apart. And would only come together for hunts or the regular faction meetings organized in the boy's room to discuss any new development. Although they did hang out together and catch up, it wasn't always as frequent. As each person had things they needed to attend to. This meant that they now each had carved paths and were walking through it. If there is one thing the hunt had done apart from making them level and the rewards that came with it along with the beast cores, is it had created some sort of competition within them. They all wanted to be just as goo

The beast turned its large back and took the attack head on. It showed how strong its scale was as the attack that would have put most beasts down hadn't done much to it thanks to the hard scale. But this wasn’t an assault battle, infact it was the opposite as Rodney had put his sword back into its sheath after that attack. “I can’t keep discharging such powerful attacks..I can feel the drawback kicking in” he said to himself. He had already closed the distance between them with his hands now coated with the same white energy from before. And just as he was about to land a fist to the back of the gecko, it swung its large tail sending him flying back.He now had multiple openings visible on his body as he had torn his shirt which was already scorched. “Fu*k this...the strain should be the last of my worries right now. That tail of it seems to be more annoying by the second damn it, it seems to be sturdier than the last two” he said. The beast didn't waste time in spitting out its venom
Back at the inn Rodney was struggling to keep it together but it didn't look like that would be easy in any way. Matter of fact he had stood up from his bed and began to stare at the other patients lying around with a crazed look which did not go unnoticed by them. His little action further proved their suspicions. He was indeed running mad. They feared for themselves the most. Being in there with a mad man who could potentially harm them as he continued staring at them one by one suspiciously didn't do anything good for their recovery they all thought. They were ready to call for help if things ever did go south. Well at least that was how much they felt threatened looking at this person now. "You are acting like a crazy person now"..."Huh did that just come from my head?. My brain is speaking to me?!". Rodney thought as he held his head with both hands. This action only further increased the patients anxiety. It was only a matter of time before someone would call for help from one
Rodney now made his way to the dojo, the special place he and Yang would train. And as he walked over to the place, he had a lot on his mind. The new information he had just gotten from Gypson who is meant to be his guide terrified him a great deal. He just couldn't wrap his head around it all. Although the concept behind how Gypson had gotten into his head and what he meant by him saying he was his guide was still yet unclear to Rodney. But he didn't get the chance to ask anything on it as the current thing that occupied his mind had overshadowed the other thoughts making them look to be only trivial."How is this possible...so I'll never able to lead a normal life after all this ends?" Rodney thought to himself as he continued on walking. Being a demon has never been among the things he has fantasized. A zombie maybe or even a vampire but never a demon. This was even more disturbing due to the fact that he couldn't talk to the one person he would usually go to for advice when things
[Equipment detected][Would you like to equip]. Yes/No[Would you like to brand]. Yes/NoThis were the notifications that popped up the moment Rodney's fingers had grazed the equipment. The equipment Rodney saw right now was almost similar in appearance to the beast he fought back at the jungle. Only this time, this was just a mere item and at the end couldn't pose any threat or potentially be capable of ending his life, at least not in his own hands. What got him the most was the fine details the item he had touched had. This item in particular was a chest piece that had green scales on it and extended all the way to his shoulder. The outer texture was a testament to the beast it had come from as straight away Rodney could tell it was the peak intermediate beast he last killed. This was because the chest piece had scales that were red and it definitely looked sturdier than the other two items remaining.Yes, there were two more items laid out that he hadn't touched yet. These items w
