The trio had left the inn to go see Damien as demanded. On their way there, they were so excited they talked about the personal questions they would ask the said master of the forest. This was a monumental moment in their lives that they felt lucky to have experienced. It wasn't like they've never seen this said person, but seeing lead the veterans out on a hunt which rarely happened unless it was a "big one" and meeting him one on one and being engaged in a conversation with him was a whole new ball game."Do you think he can speak to plants?" Akira asked with excitement."Yeah why don't you ask him, I bet he also sleeps with them too you idiot!!!" Tuffy replied."Quiet you two, you are all going to be on your best behaviour. This is something we can't afford to ruin".Orin scolded ." I would advice you listen to the smart one". One of the men escorting them said."Yeah, master has been in a mood lately. You don't want to "ACCIDENTALLY" get a trunk stuck in your behind now do you".
"I can sense it!!" Rodney said in excitement. This past few days have been nothing less thanhard and intense training for the teenager. Yang would get the lessons with his students done and over with and then Rodney woul come over for his own private session. And as the days passed, during the course of their training they both began to know each other well. Rodney's view about Yang changed and so did Yang's. They both began to grow mutual respect for one another. And instead of the competitive drive in Rodney, he actually wanted to learn from this great man. They would go over the normal physical training which involved Rodney learning timing, precision, power and all sorts. And surprisingly, Yang found Rodney to be a natural talent as he was learning things at a fast pace. He had even caught up with what he was teaching his main students. Despite this fast smooth progress that Rodney enjoyed. He Still couldn't get the hang of CHI. The other training they'd do after the physical on
As the days went by, the legion group had gotten over the tragic beast event and had now decided to go out on hunts. They did this for three reasons. To level up, for the coins, and finally for the beast cores which they carved out after the kill. They had restricted themselves to safer areas using their maps. And since they went out on their own, they kept the rewards for themselves. Although they had offered to give some share of their kills to the hunters, the hunters refused and turned them down saying it wasn't right t accept since they didn't work for it."Wow, this people are legit nice. You would expect that they would come knocking on our doors for some form of Payment now that we go out on hunts". Erwin said to his fellow legion members who were all present in the boys room. They had somewhat turned the room to some kind of meeting spot. Here Eiko would update them of their current status and plans. So far they've been functioning quite well even in the absence of their lea
Rodney was about to face three hungry looking beasts all on his own. And it didn't look like it would be an easy one given that two of the beasts were at mid intermediate while the bigger one was at peak intermediate tier. Even if they weren't all at peak intermediate level, leaving one ranking level to the next meant one would meet beast that would prove more difficult than the previous level. And right now, Rodney was about to go up against three of an intermediate beast. One had rushed at him and surprised him with its speed because judging from its size, Rodney had thought it would be a lot slower than it actually moved right now. But he wasn't going to stay surprised for long as he dashed at the beast too. If they had any sort of human intelligence they would have called Rodney's action downright "Ballsy" but having no such level of intelligence, they were unsurprisingly unimpressed.Rodney had now gotten in range with the first one that charged at him and as he was about to jum
Authors note(Please don't forget to vote for the novel and recommend as well. Also check out the sequel to this one, its called "Dark Gene:Rebirth")Day time for the squad had recently become their busiest. As if they weren't out on hunts, they were doing something else that would make them all wonder where the time had gone. This is not to say that they were always together. No, matter of fact is they spent most of their time apart. And would only come together for hunts or the regular faction meetings organized in the boy's room to discuss any new development. Although they did hang out together and catch up, it wasn't always as frequent. As each person had things they needed to attend to. This meant that they now each had carved paths and were walking through it. If there is one thing the hunt had done apart from making them level and the rewards that came with it along with the beast cores, is it had created some sort of competition within them. They all wanted to be just as goo

Rodney had just opened the system interface to view the reward for the quest he had completed a week ago. The beast turned its large back and took the attack head on. It showed how strong its scale was as the attack that would have put most beasts down hadn't done much to it thanks to the hard scale. But this wasn’t an assault battle, infact it was the opposite as Rodney had put his sword back into its sheath after that attack. “I can’t keep discharging such powerful attacks..I can feel the drawback kicking in” he said to himself. He had already closed the distance between them with his hands now coated with the same white energy from before. And just as he was about to land a fist to the back of the gecko, it swung its large tail sending him flying back.He now had multiple openings visible on his body as he had torn his shirt which was already scorched. “Fu*k this...the strain should be the last of my worries right now. That tail of it seems to be more annoying by the second damn it, it seems to be sturdier than the last two” he said. The beast didn't waste time in spitting out its venom
Back at the inn Rodney was struggling to keep it together but it didn't look like that would be easy in any way. Matter of fact he had stood up from his bed and began to stare at the other patients lying around with a crazed look which did not go unnoticed by them. His little action further proved their suspicions. He was indeed running mad. They feared for themselves the most. Being in there with a mad man who could potentially harm them as he continued staring at them one by one suspiciously didn't do anything good for their recovery they all thought. They were ready to call for help if things ever did go south. Well at least that was how much they felt threatened looking at this person now. "You are acting like a crazy person now"..."Huh did that just come from my head?. My brain is speaking to me?!". Rodney thought as he held his head with both hands. This action only further increased the patients anxiety. It was only a matter of time before someone would call for help from one
They had all received the last notification at the same time and it confused them a bit. But one person wasn't at all shocked by this. This might have been the first time the others were getting a demon reference but for Rodney, this was just another proof that some voice in his head wasn't lying at all. Nonetheless, they couldn't standby and think about the quest handed to them by the system, they had a plan to finish. And this plan was very simple. After realizing who the three outside cell were, they knew playing on their intelligence would be a walk in the park and they weren't wrong about that as they had managed to get them excited enough to actually fall for their perfectly laid trap. And this trap was in form of Corey, the boy with the green hair packed in a ponytail. "In five to ten seconds you will all be on the floor" Corey said to the three in his cage torturing him. For one this came as a surprise to Orin, Tuffy and akira. They hadn't expected the sleeping substance to f
The plan had begun right from the moment Akira made that slip up by giving out their identities. It wasn't head scratcher from then on what they needed to do. The only missing item in their plan was communication, and that was where a certain annoying voice came through for Rodney."You know the Rings are bonded to your DNA right?" Gypson said to Rodney. He had been silent for a while listening to all the plans Rodney was simulating in his head and they all came down to getting the others to play along. Each time he came to that stop, he would restart the plan to see how he could eliminate the others out of it and just go solo. But it seemly looked like he wouldn't be able to do this one on his own."Yes, what has that got to do with what's happening right now" Rodney asked as he wasn't too keen to give room for any distractions. He felt like he had gotten them all into this by asking them to surrender. And now wasn't the time for a chit chat with the voice in his head. "So, all you
"I knew you guys had something to do with what happened to us that day!!". Erwin said with veins popping out of his head. It was obvious he was livid at this point and he had all right to be. He and the team were deceived by the trio outside the cell, drugged and stolen from. Even if all this weren't crime enough, the fact that these trio had the guts to come before them still had just done it for Erwin. He yanked on his chain hard trying to break free to get to the trio outside all to no avail."Calm down you all. If it makes you feel any better, we had you poisoned twice. But somehow you guys managed to ignore the effects of the second one. If you guys had just gone down then, we would have come silently to pick you up and there will be no need for the whole drama that went down today" Tuffy explained."And to think the dose was double of what was given initially" Akira added What he said made sense to the group as some days earlier, they had received a special notification like th
*Bing*[Substance effect reversed][Immunity developed]"Urgh..what the...where am i. And what's holding me?" Rodney said as he found he was unable to move his limbs freely. He was only just waking up and the first thing he noticed was that he was in a dimly lit space with metal bars standing and serving as some type of wall separating each segment of what he was in now, a cage. He looked at himself and could see that he was chained up to the wall. Both his legs and arms to that effect, limiting his movement to a great degree. As if that wasn't enough, he could feel a slight pricking pain at the side of his rib and multiple places on his back. When he looked down at his ribs, he could see why. The toxic sharp thorns from Damien earlier were still stuck inside of him. But with the way he was restricted, there was no way he could pull it out of him. But that was the least of his worries at the moment as a scary thought entered his mind when he realized something."Guys!!.. Guys!!.." He
After deactivating their abilities, they all turned to each other looking at one another before proceeding to raise both their arms to show mutual agreement. On seeing their action, the man in charge turned to his men and ordered that they made way for the boys to pass. And without hesitation, a path was cleared almost instantly for the boys. The man turned to look at the boys once more signalling their path had been made and they were now to walk through now."Let it be known that one wrong move and my little friend here might just have all your men here kill themselves" Blair threatened. But this wouldn't faze the man as he had had it up to here. Without thinking he blurted out his own threat back at the group of boys."This is only a temporary truce. My team and I won't hesitate to chop down any opposition if sited". If there was any hope of things calming down between the two parties, it was certainly thrown out of the window. As now the pressure was now more mounted between both
Mia and Blaze were currently being escorted by five men who all had their hands on the hilt of their weapons. They weren't going to take any chances as word had gotten to them about the chaos that was ongoing at the male's lodge. The girls seeing their action, could only imagine what the boys were doing now. If not anything, they both had one name on their mind that could single handedly cause all the chaos needed in the blink of an eye."If you are not going to tell us what we did, can you atleast tell us where we are being taken to?" Mia asked the closest to her of which she got no reply as the only thing the man had in response to her question was a deep grunt. Minutes later, she could see the answer to her question up ahead. This was a place both girls remembered quite well, even if they had only been there once.Meanwhile at some other part of the faction, particularly the males lodge, the chaos was yet to settle. Currently anybody who would happened to walk around and stumble o
Back at the girls room, Blaze and Mia weren't experiencing any more kind gestures kindness and love that the boys lacked. In fact, they both had four of the same men that were in the boy's room currently in their room as well. And just like the boys, these men hadn't knocked nicely and asked that they should be allowed in. They had simply forced their way in by breaking the door quite easily and effectively. "You know these four?" Blaze asked."Know them, you're the crazy one. I was thinking they came over because you invited them. Now I'm kind of wishing you did invite them. Please be you who called them over...". Mia began to chant but that didn't last long as it was put to an abrupt stop by the commanding voice of one of the men. And just like to the others, the two girls were immediately debriefed on what was going on and asked for their cooperation." You haven't told us what we have done wrong just yet" Blaze said with a straight face. Usually she wasn't one to go out looking
[Equipment detected][Would you like to equip]. Yes/No[Would you like to brand]. Yes/NoThis were the notifications that popped up the moment Rodney's fingers had grazed the equipment. The equipment Rodney saw right now was almost similar in appearance to the beast he fought back at the jungle. Only this time, this was just a mere item and at the end couldn't pose any threat or potentially be capable of ending his life, at least not in his own hands. What got him the most was the fine details the item he had touched had. This item in particular was a chest piece that had green scales on it and extended all the way to his shoulder. The outer texture was a testament to the beast it had come from as straight away Rodney could tell it was the peak intermediate beast he last killed. This was because the chest piece had scales that were red and it definitely looked sturdier than the other two items remaining.Yes, there were two more items laid out that he hadn't touched yet. These items w
Rodney now made his way to the dojo, the special place he and Yang would train. And as he walked over to the place, he had a lot on his mind. The new information he had just gotten from Gypson who is meant to be his guide terrified him a great deal. He just couldn't wrap his head around it all. Although the concept behind how Gypson had gotten into his head and what he meant by him saying he was his guide was still yet unclear to Rodney. But he didn't get the chance to ask anything on it as the current thing that occupied his mind had overshadowed the other thoughts making them look to be only trivial."How is this possible...so I'll never able to lead a normal life after all this ends?" Rodney thought to himself as he continued on walking. Being a demon has never been among the things he has fantasized. A zombie maybe or even a vampire but never a demon. This was even more disturbing due to the fact that he couldn't talk to the one person he would usually go to for advice when things
