David was on his phone when he heard a loud shout from the living room. He didn't know what had happened, he just jumped and rushed out. Ethan had also stormed out of the room so they met in the living room to see what was wrong with Dre because he was the one who screamed. " What's the problem, man?" Ethan asked." Yeah, are you okay?" David asked. " Check the class group chat, Nick left very huge news," Dre said with excitement in his eyes. Ethan and David heaved with relief, that wasn't what they expected to hear, but it was better than bad news. Dre gave them an annoyed look. " What's the matter with both of you? I haven't even said anything yet, but both of you are already acting uninterested." He complained. " That's because when you screamed, I thought something bad happened," Ethan said. " I thought your mother died, or something."" If my mother had died, I would have been like the happiest man in the whole world." Dre huffed. Ethan and David had no other choice but
Anger was seriously building up inside David. After all the atrocious deeds Nick had committed, he still had the heart to make this comment. He could see the other of their classmates commenting in the group. Those lowlives were insulting David and calling him nothing. They were also urging Dre and Ethan to get away from him so that they could get jobs. Suddenly, Ethan was typing out a message, David didn't know that he was online. " Nick, what is wrong with you?! Why would you go to that extent to frustrate our lives?" Nick was provoked. " We have done nothing wrong to you." " Don't act like your words matter to me," Nick replied. " If you are desperate for a job, do the needful. Tell David that you are no more his friend, right now."" It's really simple, it doesn't take a lot." One of their classmates typed out." You and Dre will be getting an automatic ticket into Nick's company! "David felt the rawness of hurt in his heart, but he didn't type out anything to reply to them.
David couldn't utter one word when he looked at her when he found out who she was. She looked at him from head to toe, a small smile on her face. " We have to stop bumping into each other like this." She chuckled. " What are you even doing here?""Um..." David had to scratch his head first. " I just came to look around."" Silly me." She rolled her eyes. " You are the owner, I don't know why I am asking such a stupid question."David quickly looked around to make sure that no one heard what she said. He held her arm and pulled her outside, she frowned in confusion, but she followed him out. " What's the matter? Why are you acting strange?" She asked. " Because no one in there knows who I am," David answered. " I don't want anyone to know yet." " Well, they deserve to know." She insisted. " I will go right in and inform all of them."She was trying to walk in again, but he held her arm and stopped her again. " I don't think you get it. I like the way they are clueless about it
"Yo, David!"David was in a dream that he didn't want to get out of when he heard his name. He tossed around in his bed and wanted to curse at Ethan for screaming his name out so loudly. " David! Come see this!" Ethan yelled. " Coming," David said. He doesn't have any shirt on him. He found his way through his sleep-heavy eyes, to the living room. He still has no idea what was going on, Dre and Ethan were by the door. He pushed through them to see that a courier was at their door. She barely had her face visible as she struggled to hold up the big box. Her face turned white and her jaw dropped when she saw David without a shirt. Dre turned around and glared at David. " What are you doing?" He asked through clenched teeth. " Go get a shirt."David ignored him and looked at the girl. " What's the matter?" He asked no one in particular. " She's here to deliver a package, but I told her that she has the wrong house," Ethan said. " What? What's in it?" David touched his brow.
David walked into the building to see that everywhere was finally organized and ready to be available for the public. Gary was right, Rosie was doing a good job. When he walked to the reception, he met Stefanie there already. She was watering the plants like she did the last time they met. The flowery scent of her perfume hit his nose even before he got close to her. Her face burst with a happy smile when she saw him. " Hey, David! I see you got the job!" She gestured to his perfectly ironed shirt and pants. " How did the interview go?"David totally forgot about having an interview. It was normal for job seekers to go for interviews before they are taken, but since he owned the company, no one reminded him of any interview. He gave her a nervous laugh as he scratched his head. " Yeah, the interview." He pretended to have just remembered. " It was quite hectic, but I'm equal to the task."She leaned forward as if to tell him a secret. " Have you seen our boss?" She whispered.
Working there was the best thing that has ever happened to David. He liked looking out the window and seeing the busy street on this side of the city. Anytime he was bored, he called Gary or one of his friends. They talked for some time and it made him feel better. The one person he didn't call, no matter how bored he was, was his father. He couldn't even bring himself to read the cold numbers Rosie wrote on the piece of paper. What was he going to say to him? Tell him that he liked all the monetary gifts and expensive shoes and watches, but that he wasn't impressed that he was left alone to forge without a father? He couldn't do all of that so he tore up the paper after three days. He tore them up so well that it would be impossible for anyone to decode the numbers on them. Afterward, he carried on with his day as if nothing happened. Sometimes he even forgot that he had a father, or that this multi-billion company was his. Apart from Stefanie, he had started to make friends w
Everyone was slammed with shock, they all had their eyebrows pulled up in surprise. If a pin had dropped on the ground, someone would have heard it fall. Nick and David were having a stare down and tension was building up very rapidly. Rosie wasn't sure of what to do. If it had been at her own company, she would have asked Nick and his father to be kicked out, but this was different. Dominic Ford might be a billionaire, but this was his son's new company. It wasn't about the money they were going to lose, it was more about the reputation this might leave. She cleared her throat and decided to take charge of the situation. " Mister David Wyatt is a hard-working junior manager here." She smiled. " He can't clean your shoes because that's not his job." Nick snorted and looked at her, he does like being in charge very badly. " If I said that he is going to clean my shoes, then he will do it." Nick laughed. " It's either that, or we are not going to be doing business with you peopl
They were already about two hours into the meeting, but Nick wasn't paying attention. He was glaring at David while everyone else was talking about pushing both companies to the next level. " ...And the profit shall also be shared equally," David said. " I believe that we are going to put in equal effort to achieve this."" Oh my God, I can't bear to listen to this anymore." Nick laughed in anger. " Why is he speaking like this? Like he owns the company or something?"" Mister Dominic has appointed him and me to speak on behalf of his son," Rosie said. " I believe that you don't have a problem with that."Nick slapped his hand against the table before he sat upright. " Look, lady, there is a hierarchy in this world." He said to her, " Why do you think that God created it that way?"Rosie only stared back. " People like me are not supposed to be mixed up with fellows like him." He pointed at David. " It's against the natural order of everything."" Mister Nick..."" Listen to me,
