How I’m I gonna win?

.

.

Hideyo quickly grew another sets of limbs and  jumped right back on his feet. His healing ability was really one of a kind. An ability to heal from any form of injury his body sustains. It was a unique ability that made him fight more recklessly than any other fighter.

The help of a healer or a regenerative incubator was something he has never needed since he started fighting. His ability itself was ‘fast regeneration’. Quick Healing right at that moment so there were never injuries left to heal right after his fights.

And on top of that he was strong. His prowess as a fighter was not lacking in anyway. His combat instinct was already honed to the hilt. The fact his ability was only fast regeneration didn’t mean he was lacking in combat.

Since He could even grow back his limbs in an instant dodging attacks was not really his style. There was no need for him to even dodge when he knew his body would still heal back quickly but Hideyo just dodged Danny’s attack to his neck. It was quite suspicious.

Danny was not sure about cutting off Hideyo’s head in the first place because of the rules of the game. Knock out your opponent to win. That was the condition Nakamura sensei gave.  He didn’t say kill them. But how can a person like Hideyo be knocked out?

Danny understood the fact that for Hideyo it was a different case.  He watched Hideyo fight in the first round.

Knock out your opponent. Danny knew Hideyo was the only fighter that rule didn’t apply to. It was impossible to knock him out with an attack due to his fast regeneration.

So since the rule of round two didn’t apply for Hideyo’s case, he had to take another approach. He had to fight Hideyo with the intentions of killing him rather than knocking him out but he was still skeptical about it. He had doubts from the very beginning. He wasn’t sure if resulting to such extreme method was even allowed.

Still Danny had to fight with the intention of killing Hideyo. He knew if he didn’t take that approach he would be just like Hideyo’s opponent in round One so he took the gamble by going for both Hideyo’s heart and neck.

The fact he didn’t get a warning from a Nakamura sensei meant his way of fighting was totally okay at the moment which brought his mind back to his last attack.

For Hideyo to desperately dodge his last attack just proved his suspicion right...

“Severing your head is your weakness isn’t it?” Danny smiled as his voice suddenly became more dominant.

Hideyo chuckled “And so? What if cutting off my head is my weakness? You don’t possibly think that you can actually reach for my neck?”

Danny laughed lightly and said “ Number three. You’re beginning to overestimate yourself more than your capabilities.”

“Hmm. Is that so?”

Danny’s eyes suddenly shook as he felt a sinister wind blew past him. It took a second for him to instantly realize that it wasn’t a wind. Even at the moment, his realization didn’t help him in anyway because he was already a second too late...

“Overestimating myself you say?"

The pupils of Danny’s eyes moved to the right  as he tried to follow Hideyo’s voice with his eyes. He tried to react but it was already too late. The damage had already been done.

“Don’t be so full of yourself. It is you who is beginning to overestimate your abilities”

“You.. Bastard...” Blood spilled right out of Danny’s mouth as he staggered while holding his belly.

Danny fell to his knees and gritted his teeth in pain. Hideyo’s attack had already happened right before he could even realize it. It was only just now that he started feeling the effects of the attack.

The pain in his stomach right now was so intense that he felt like he was going to die. His vision shook for a second. The painful feeling from the attack made him wondered

‘Was that an attack from a fellow human being? Was that even a blow? Or a kick?’

‘...I’m confused that hit just now was just too powerful’

Danny could hardly tell how Hideyo attacked him because he didn’t see the attack. He only felt it. Terror was written all over his face. His astonished facial expression had questions to ask but before he could open his mouth Hideyo’s question came out first.

“You are no longer indestructible. Don’t tell me you’re already at your limits?”

‘What? What made me think that I could actually cope with this guy in the first place?’ There was a sudden regretful expression on his face.

Really looking back at the situation Danny realized that there was really nothing to be regretful about. Yes he started thinking he could take down Hideyo because he had been coping well with Hideyo’s movements from the start but It was an assumption that was wrong. This unforeseen attack made it clear to Danny.

The pain he was currently feeling made his emotions to became missed up. Instead of acknowledging he was wrong about his assumptions he felt regretful. That was how much the pain affected him.

‘Shit. My shield is not yet at it’s limits.’

Danny turned his head to faced Hideyo while he was still holding his belly in pain. The pain in his abdomen had already started to subside but he knew such a pain won’t completely wear off not even when two days had passed. So It was obvious that...

‘His attack just got more stronger and faster. Shit! Don’t tell me that this guy has been restraining himself from the very beginning?’

Hideyo expression became stiffened. The more he thought about it the more his body trembled. That was the only explanation to  Hideyo’s unexpected power up. It was then he knew the members of The Strongest Five weren’t given that title for nothing.

“Cutting off my head is my weakness...”

Suddenly, Hideyo’s laughter became more scary.

“...Don’t make me laugh. The fact you know that doesn’t change a thing. I can assure you that you won’t be able to put even a single scratch on my neck.” Hideyo said as he pointed his thumb to his neck.

“Let me tell you something. In this Representative tournament I’m the one who’s gonna take down Daniel and become number one”

“...”

“And I’ll become absolute.”

At this moment a tremendous airflow swirled around Hideyo’s body.

Danny eyes became filled with sudden astonishment. It was at this moment he came back to his initial assumption.  Beating Hideyo was not something only him could do alone. The fact their king was still conscious wasn’t because of him. Hideyo chose to let their king still remain conscious.

‘This guy is really strong. He can knock Yua out anytime if he wills it. I have never felt this powerless in my entire life.’

Danny eye became wide as he looked at Hideyo in awe.

‘This guy currently has the life of Group C in his hands. Now that he has made this clear. What will he do next? Just thinking about it gives me the chill. Is this how I lose?’

(...The fact they are stronger than me doesn’t mean I’m gonna accept it. It just means I’ll just have to get stronger)

‘Huh? Why I’m suddenly remembering this guy?’

Danny expression became blank as he belatedly took a deep breath ‘ Hmm I know what to do’

Danny struggled and stood right back on his feet.

*slap*

Unexpectedly before Hideyo eyes Danny gave himself a hot slap.

“Sorry a second there I started doubting myself. Can we continue this fight?”

There was a blank expression in Hideyo’s face before he belatedly smile.

“Oh I see. Thanks for entertaining me for a while but there’s nothing you can do now. I’ll do you the honors of taking you out first before your king.”

“...”

“Brace yourself..” Hideyo suddenly disappeared. There was a sporadic blur moving around Danny. That blur was Hideyo. Hideyo was moving so fast that Danny’s eyes could hardly follow him.

‘It doesn’t matter if he’s stronger than me. Putting myself down isn’t going to help me. I just have to believe I can take this guy down. Besides my fake confidence is the reason why this guy is not going for Yua yet. Wait fake?’

Danny laughed inwardly ‘There’s nothing fake about me wanting to beat this son of a bitch. I’ll just have to try my luck on that’

Danny vigilantly stood with an expectant expression of an attack from Hideyo.

“Kwack!”

Still no matter how vigilant he was. He just couldn’t counteract Hideyo’s fast attack. All he felt was Blows from Hideyo. Hideyo quickly disappeared right after landing a blow before Danny could even attack back.

All Danny kept seeing were the disturbing blurred movements of Hideyo around him. Trying to keep up with Hideyo’s movements was like trying to keep up with each individual blades of a spinning electric fan.

He didn’t see Hideyo before Hideyo attacked and he couldn’t catch Hideyo right after he received a blow from him.

Hideyo’s movements where now so fast for him to comprehend. All he felt were just blows. He received a blow to his ribs. He felt another painful pain to his cheeks. A blow went straight to solar plexus making his vision shook for a second.

Before Danny knew it he was already covered in blood and bruises.

‘Shit!’ That was the thought Danny had on his mind at this moment. The fact he actually knew Hideyo’s weakness didn’t change shit. Hideyo was right. At this rate he won’t be able to even cut Hideyo’s neck.

Danny bit his lips as he tried to think. His thinking was always  interrupted with different unpredictable attacks from Hideyo. Still He knew he had to think of something fast. His bodily shield was already beginning to quickly fade away from Hideyo’s powerful attack.

His shield was the only thing keeping him from getting knocked out from Hideyo’s powerful attack. Hideyo increased attack power was really bad for him. The more powerful the attack the more the shields begins to wear out.

‘What do I do? My shield is no longer effective towards his..’

“Kwaack” Danny gushed out blood from a solid hit to his Abdomen before he could even complete his thought.

“Relax. There’s nothing you can do now. Just Rest in Peace.” Hideyo finally stopped with his fist still on Danny’s abdomen. His fist sank in deeper into Danny’s abdomen which made Danny let out a scream but his scream was not heard.

The Hit was so strong. The surrounding ground was split apart with loud sound and the air was disturbed by the force of the blow. Danny’s body was repelled backward from the impact of Hideyo’s fist but before Danny’s body could shoot away, Hideyo grabbed him with his other hand to keep Danny in place as the impact of his fist sank in even more.

The pain Danny felt was so great. He quickly forgot himself to let out a scream but funny enough the blow was so painful his scream could hardly project outside from his mouth.

Danny fell to the ground. He lay on the floor folding both his hands around his belly as he quivered on the floor. After he stopped shaking his body could hardly move. It was like he had just been hit by a truck.

After a few seconds, He slowly struggled to stand back up on his feet but Hideyo grabbed him tight by the neck and hung him up in the air.

He didn’t want to accept it consciously but at that moment a slight shiver went down his body.

“Hey boy. I’m going to make you sleep now. Do you have any last words?”

Danny coughed out blood and looked at Hideyo with a hardened expression made by a bleeding mouth. Danny’s bloody teeth were revealed as he struggled but there was just very little strength in his body. Him resisting didn’t make any difference.

“He’s done for now.”

“Finish him!”

There was a ruckus in the whole arena as everyone’s eyes where glued to the the big screen.

Hideyo clenched his other fist and raised it  while still hanging Danny from his hand. He drew his arm backward with his fist still pointing towards Danny’s stomach.

Danny wanted to strongly believed that he could win against Hideyo but his ominous feeling he had at this moment was saying otherwise. He only felt this way when he was going to lose.

He wondered ‘Am I going to lose?’

‘...I guess so. Seems like I’m losing this round’ Danny closed his eyes as he became expectant of the next blow. He knew the next time he opened his eye, it won’t be in this game.

“Alright sleep..”

Hideyo muttered as he pushed his arm forward to land his blow but something odd happened.

At the moment, time suddenly slowed down. The slowed down world came with a feeling of a burning heat.

‘What’s this?’

...Hideyo cognition process became faster at the moment but he immediately came to realized that time had not slowed down.

It was just his reflexes kicking in at that very second. He figured out this fact due to the sound he heard from his side...

“Explosive burst!”

The eyes of Hideyo shone.

...And the sound of an explosion quickly followed next. Sparks appeared in the area as the atmosphere tore apart instantly.
