Detached Truth of demon

Mercenary

Sen walked in alley for some time until he arrived at a place which gave the impression of being isolated from everything.

Sup!Sup!

He started turning the pages one after another in narrow alley while a pondering look appeared on his face.

After reading half of the content of book, he heard the sound of footsteps.

Thup!Thup!

Judging by the sound,There seemed to be more than two men.

As the footsteps got closer,Sen put the book away in his pocket and looked in the direction of footsteps.

"I say Charles, you were just using brute force to eliminate those thieves."

A voice of a woman full of teasing reached in the ear of Sen in dark valley.

"Hey,What do you know?If i didn't use the brute force, you would have been lying on the bed instead of teasing me here.",

A man's deep voice resonated in the air.

"Cut it out, both of you two!We still can't find that assassin due to lack of evidences, we have to complete the task before deadline."

Another voice made it's way through the air to the ear.

Sen was in dilemma whether he should hide or show himself.

Sheng!Sheng!

Before he could arrive at any conclusion,A metal smell permeated in the air when a big sword forged it's path as it slithered towards Sen.

Shoom!

Sen jumped off from the place he was standing, directly using the essence energy to imbue his small knife with it and threw it towards three mercenary.

Hiss!

A young man threw a saber towards Sen with terrifying strength, while taking out some flammable objects from his pocket.

But the remaining two girls didn't even bat an eye at Sen thinking of his nothing but petty thief, as the girl in blue dress slowly took out some healing potions.

Sen used his index finger to imbue the knife with essence energy again, advancing forward towards youngest girl.

"Don't you dare to get distracted,You fucking bitch!",

The young man threw the flammable material towards him and showed his middle finger and said,"Booom!."

Clang!

Saber and knife hit each other creating a metallic noise.

By deafening force of essence, insignificant knife tore through the Saber and almost slitted the throat of young man.

While Sen already grabbed the neck of youngest girl using her as meat shield for upcoming flammable material.

Shoooooh!

Flammable object got closer and closer as the youngest girl's eyes slowly widened, but at this moment they exploded in midway.

Pheww!

The girl's body involuntarily relaxed, but feeling something cold on her neck, her body stiffed as she stood up there with fear.

"Wait! It's misunderstanding, we didn't mean to attack you, we just misunderstood you for someone else,"

The young boy said with stiff smile.

Sen tightened the grip on the neck of youngest girl as he stared at the potions which the girl in blue clothes took out.

Seeing this, the young man said,"If you can let us go, we shall give you this potion and never trouble you again."

He swore in his mind that he will never ever attack anyone without information about them if he could escape from this situation.

In order to impress his two companions, he took Sen as a petty thieve and directly attacked him instead of confirming and was slapped on his face by Sen.

"I can let you guys go on two conditions."Sen said slowly as he stared at the potions.

"State your conditions.",The girl in the blue dress said.

"First, Your identity!",Sen gazed at them.

"Luther from mercenary guild, badge no thirteen",The young man had resolute face while he looked at the knife almost cutting his throat.

From his demeanour, one could feel he was a proud person who always held his head high.

But Sen thought of unlucky number from his previous life and immediately related this encounter to the badge number.

"Caterina from mercenary guild, badge no sixty nine ",The girl who was in blue dress appeared cold and serious.

Her whole body gave the aura of aloof and ice beauty trope heroine in the novels.

But listening  badge no sixty nine, Sen looked at her strangely which Caterina noticed instantly and immediately felt something off.

"Isa.. Isabell from mercenary guild, badge no four hundred twenty," The girl in classic mercenary clothes said shyly.

"Hahaha!"

Sen couldn't keep his calm as he laughed heartily, everyone except him felt very uncomfortable as if this laugh was mocking them.

After laughing for some time ,

"Well, since you guys are from mercenary guild then i don't have any reason to kill you,"

He said while still chuckling a bit but this time everyone felt chill since if they didn't make their identity clear , he would have really killed them.

"Now give me that potion and you guys can go." He said while gesturing the potion in the hand of blue dressed girl.

"Are you not a thief then?"Luther asked breathing deeply.

"No!I am just an unemployed man searching for a job, when i was passing buy, you guys attacked me so i had to resort to violence.",Sen said with weird expression.

Luther scratched his head with embarrassment and apologised,"Pardon me buddy, i acted with impulse.In exchange of your forgiveness, i can make you join our guild.What do you think?"

The girls looked at him with awkward expression again, as they thought of battle just some moments ago.

Sen pondered about the suggestion, after calculating some pros and cons, he asked with excitement in his eyes,"Can i get that potion on daily basis if i become team member ?".

Before Luther could say anything, Caterina directly threw potions towards him and said in cheerful tone completely contrasting her behaviour a moment ago,"I will brew it especially for you five in a week, if you will join our team."

They needed a strong warrior as they already had Caterina as healer,Isabella as support and Luther as knight who could shield but could not attack efficiently.

Warrior is the class which excels in attacking the enemy and out of twenty mercenaries, only one of them could be found.

So Caterina used her tempting words to lure Sen in the team.
