"How long more would I have to deal with these?"

My eyes paced the length of the Cafeteria at once as those hasty words escaped my lips. That would be the third lady who would walk to my table. She looked back at me again as she returned to her friends who were seated at the other end. 

I had no idea whether or not they were playing games on me. Two of her friends had come earlier but I'd shunned them away. And now she was the last bird. Let's see what happens next.

"Just five minutes more and I'll be off."

I wasn't sure who the threat was for, whether myself or someone who wasn't present yet. I grunted and took a gulp from the glass of wine before me, putting the chalice back on the table, a clack.
