The next day.
~Caidine~
"It should be here."
I pointed at the drawer by the left side of Dia's bed. I was in her room for it. For the key. The spare key she had told me about. The spare key to Rowe's room.
I knew I should had done this before now. I should had carried out the duty before now, but I wanted to steer clear of any shade of doubt. I wanted to be sure that everything was under a close watch. I wanted to do it all by myself.
"At last."
I sighed, picking up the lone key tied to no holder.
"This could slip away."
I muttered. I couldn't blame Dia for being careless. She had been going through a whole lot of things lately and I'm honored to be around her to help her pull through.
I walked out of her room, sure that the door was well locked. Well not because someone might break in or steal something, twas just some inexplicable reasons that no one could place for cer
Later that day. Dia's Office.~Rowe~"I'm quite sorry for putting you on such a long wait. It hasn't really been easy on me. And when I say that, I mean, I've been pretty much busy. Believe me, you know what it feels like having to bear these burdens."Dia finally looked up at the two African men seated before her. I was where I should be of course. Assuming the position of her bodyguard by the door of her office.I have no idea why she had wanted me to stand in the office with her. At first, I'd thought twas because of the African man, probably she was scared or stuff. But then I remembered her encounter with some typical men few days ago.I couldn't be so sure what her stance was or what her reasons were. But my sixth sense told me that something was wrong. And at least if not wrong yet, something would be wrong. I feel homesick. The feeling was strong and strange."We would love to partner with you. We understand that Cl
The drive home wasn't long and boring because I had enough on my mind. I drove into the compound and stepped out of the car. I got the door for her.We walked towards the door together and straight into the parlor."Caidine."She called but I didn't care to wait. I hurried to my room. That was where my mind had been all along.I got the door and entered. I sighed firstly, letting the warm cum stuffy air work up my nostrils. Then, I turned to the switch. I put on the light. And as soon as I did that, I saw a tablet on the floor, at the front of my bed."Who the fuck?"I growled and shook my head. I looked hurriedly around for something suspicious but I couldn't find. I walked to the window and lifted the curtain to reveal the CCTV. Twas still there."Let's see."I muttered and walked to my wardrobe. I brought out my PC and opened it. And there I saw Caidine in my room doing all the things I hate.&nb
A day off work.~Dia Wealene~"Such a relief now."I muttered, taking a deep sigh, my eyes glued to the ceiling of the sitting room."We probably would have to wait until he tells us everything he knows. If he doesn't admit it, it's just as if our efforts had gone down the drain."Caidine put her palm to my forehead and caressed it for a while. My head was on her lap, body outstretched in the couch, while she was at an end of the couch - for my comfort of course."I already handed the flash over to Steve. Even if the dog refuses to admit to all his atrocities, the flash would say otherwise. Don't you think?"Instead of a response, she made a wierd sound in her throttle and nodded her head. I looked up at her, she looked worried."What?"I decided to seat up, to hold her closely in my gaze."Did you go through the drive yourself?""No!"I shook my head.
His apartment.~Albert~"Could you tell me what you've been doing with your life, Albert?"The very husky and demanding voice came on. I took a deep breath and sighed. Here we go again. It could only be a person. My old man."You were born with a silver spoon in that awkward and ungrateful mouth of yours. And what did you do with the spoon? You melted it in the lava of your own foolishness. Aren't you old enough to choose what is right? Can't you at least be like your younger sister?"He coughed in the background. I heard his throat make a rumble. He probably just drank a cup of water. He continued,"I recently heard that you are working as driver wherever the fuck you are. Is that what you use that big head of yours for? I used to think, seeing you grow up into a fine and tough man, that you would rule the world of the girls. My wealth being a push up for you. But what did you do? Neglect a bright future for
Family House. Yorkshire.~Dia ~"Where is she?"I hurried through the super big living room with countless king size chairs. I had just arrived at England and all I could think about was her. Of course, the thought of losing her was enough to shatter me."She's in your room.""My room?"I took the risk of turning to my dad coming behind me,"Shows how much she had missed you.""Miss me."I muttered. I didn't know why I felt awkward uttering those two words. I probably would figure out sooner or later. Or better, it could be an extension of the present mood.I hurried towards the stairs and up it. Then walked through the hallway and took another turn. My father's house has fourteen rooms and several spots of interest. I had no idea what he was thinking when he awarded the architect the project.I took the last stairs and headed to my room."Who told me to ch
Wealene's Home.~Albert~"You shouldn't had missed her. She just left, point in time you drove into the compound."Mr Wealene quoted with such enthusiasm I'd only seen in my father. I guess it's like an adult delinquency. Especially the father's, when they are hunting a thing and would stop at nothing in laying hands on it."I saw her car drove by. But I was too late to stop her. She had zoomed off."I knew I wasn't sincere. I didn't actually want her to see me. If she did, that would be worse. And if at all, we mistakenly did, twould be under a very tight circumstance. A circumstance where neither of us would be able to communicate.Suddenly, the indifferent stare of her mother swept a fact past me. I was quick to grab it."Did she say where she was going?""You don't need to bother --"Before her mother could finish up the statement, her father already snatched the stance."
Later that day.~Dia~"And he pretended not to see you?"I didn't know why I found an offense in that. Probably because I was waiting so patiently to transfer the aggression, but I remembered that Caidine wasn't the best subject for this. I tamed the urge."I don't really think that's it. He seemed scared too but kept the straight face. He looked past me as though I wasn't there. That fucker was seated behind me, but what I really don't understand was why he was on the plane with me. It feels like something is fishy. Like something isn't right.""You mean he's stalking you?"I took a glance at her. We were seated at the dining table. I was at the edge of the table, backing the parlor while she was by the side to the left."That's what to think, but you know Albert. Does he have a time for that? Does he really care whether or not I'm alive. I guess he's just putting up a charade.""You can't be su
Work.~Dia Wealeane~"Hey, cop."I said over the phone, knowing fully well what I'd just done."Cop?"His intrigued voice came on,"Did I speak amiss? You sure ain't a lacrosse team player."He chuckled,"Of course not. I simply couldn't just place the sudden formality."I scrunched my nose,"You'll probably have to get used to it then.""Alright."He succumbed under the puff of the air.I seriously didn't know why I was being all cheeky with him. I just felt really light and playful that day. Probably because there's no potential threat anymore. Rowe had been apprehended and Glen? About to find that out."So, about Rowe.""Yea, about him. The reason I called.""Okay?""He wouldn't admit to the offences. And when I say admit, I mean he's still covering up for Glen. ""But you have enough evidence in the flash I gave to you
