Work.
~Dia Wealene~
"It doesn't really work like that."
I shot bluntly, staring at the door opposite as thought twas the victim, whereas I was talking over the phone.
"Of course you know, Dia Wealene, but we would need to put some of these things into consideration if at all we want COLORFUL ENTREPRENEURS to keep soaring. If we think we have all covered already, don't be surprised when all our efforts go down the drain in the twitch of an eye."
I sighed and spun the office chair around to face the wall TV.
"Who is the president here, Greg?"
"You seem to be missing something, Dia. We are all presidents. We all represent the COLORFUL ENTREPRENEURS. You were only appointed because we think it best that you handle the delicate matters."
I scoffed, throwing one of my hands back to cup my long sleek hair which reached down my back to the rise of my backside.
"I'm about to hang the call."
Later that day. At a bar.~Dia Wealene~"Do you want me to replace you with someone else?"I said on top of my voice, taking a leave of the sight of the barman who kept on shooting me this wierd stare. I knew what he wanted."Forgive me, if I have wronged you."He pleaded. I scoffed and looked away, but regrettably back at the barman. Twas a noisy place. We could had chosen a less raspy bar but I kinda needed a typical distraction while discussing with him."This isn't about whether or not to forgive you, Rowe. What if I had been strangled to death before you arrived? What would had been your excuse, you would had snatched my properties, eh? Since I have no child."He tried to reach his hand through the counter at me. Of course he was seated close to me but he did have guts though. I pulled my hand back and glared at him."Sorry."He got the idea and puffed. He got carried away
At work.~Dia Wealene~"I can't think of anyone precisely for now."I had thought for a while before speaking over the phone. But it seemed more like trying to convince myself other than the person I was discussing with."Maybe you should take your time."Steve urged. I nodded,"I'll try to. But who could be so close to me that would had sent such rogue as Rowe to me. I guess the person wants me dead."I heard Steve chuckle and wanted to take it out on him but held back as he came on,"I don't think his motive is to kill. If it's that, he would had done that pretty sooner than this. I think it's a game, a game of intelligence. I can't place it yet, but I'm still working on it."He paused and continued,"Is there something else you need to tell me about him? We don't have time anymore. If you think you have anything which would be helpful, why don't you tell me?"I sighed."I don't t
In lest than fifteen minutes, we've arrived at the enclosed beach for private purposes. A beach opened to only folks like me; not only rich but affluent and renowned. Most times, on a typical day, there are few or nobody present. And we barely have the splashing of the waves by the swimmers, because many go there to catch a view, discuss and feel the caresses of the gentle breeze."We sure aren't going to swim, are we?"Alfred quizzed as we walked through the opening into the vast space."Of course not, we'll just sit and talk. I wanted to let out some steam.""Oh. "He nodded and we headed to the spot. There were only two couples to the right and left. To the very end by the left was a small cafeteria for grilled chicken, cheese and wine."Rowe, go grab some snacks. Something cool enough."He left immediately and I turned to Alfred,"I'm sure you won't mind sitting on this sharp san
A week Later.~Dia Wealene~"Let's move to the last agenda of the meeting."Greg called and the founder took the stance. As usual, we were seated around the official table, a typical meeting of the COLORFUL ENTREPRENEURS. A meeting due."There have been some uprising of late which majority of us have been turning blind eyes to, though it keeps preying on the development and growth of our association."He paused for a while then continued,"As little as leaches are, their effects on the growth of a plant cannot be ignored. Same falls on this stray, which seemed rather of less value but is stylishly eating deeply into the stem of our growth.""Can we have the direct approach to this matter?"The lady of the couple amongst us came on. What she had meant was CAN YOU COME OUT CLEAN PLEASE?Majority of the CEO's of this association seem rather reserved. And that is owed to the belief that the fo
Private Bar."You didn't seem to have a nice day.Rowe called towering behind me. His hard frame and indifferent stare running across my whole. I was seated by the bar in the second parlor. It's a private spot for knocking myself off the edge."And what do you mean by that?"I turned to him and he looked down."I'm sorry.""Don't be. Make me understand what you meant to say."I countered and he looked up."You seem down. Your face says so. Maybe I could keep you a company."To me twas as though he was blurting."Go away, I don't need any company. If I do, I would had called on Caidine. I have my reasons telling her to stay in doors."His expression said something else. He obviously wasn't ready to give up. But he seemed not to have a choice. He turned away from me to walk away but then halted again. He called at me,"I'll be at an earshot if you chan
The next morning. In her office.~Dia Wealene~"You think we have a catch already?"I had no idea why I was softening my voice. I remembered too well that I'd told Rowe to stay in the car and keep on a lookout; to watch if someone like Devin would return to exhibit some degrees of nuances. To clear my doubt, I stood up and walked to the door, I opened and looked down the hallway, there was no one in sight. I sighed and walked back into the office.I walked over to the couch as Steve added,"It should had been enough but it isn't. Of course we know who is responsible and for whom he's working. But we still don't know why he was sent.""Maybe you should listen to the voice note again."I grunted, my legs on the table before the couch. I leaned back into the couch, getting all comfortable."I've listened to it five times. But I must say, it's not enough. If may I ask, does he have any i
At home.~Dia Wealene~"Caidine."I started calling even before I stepped into the parlor. As I got the door and stepped in, she hurried through the hallway, through the second Parlor, into the first."Are you alright?"Her face smothered by concern and worries."Could you believe what that fucking Albert did today? Oh my God! I must destroy him."I hurried to the nearest couch and expired into it tossing my bag wherever my hand fancied."Albert? Did you meet him today? I mean, where did you meet him?""I finished talking to Steve and was getting busy when the fucker called me and said I should meet him at TORQUOISE.""What for?""He said he had something to show me. Something related to Rowe. At first I didn't want to go because I know how unfortunate he could be, but then I chose to, because I felt like what would I lose? Plus Rowe would be outside if anything crazy h
TORQUOISE HOME. ~Albert~ "How long more would I have to deal with these?" My eyes paced the length of the Cafeteria at once as those hasty words escaped my lips. That would be the third lady who would walk to my table. She looked back at me again as she returned to her friends who were seated at the other end. I had no idea whether or not they were playing games on me. Two of her friends had come earlier but I'd shunned them away. And now she was the last bird. Let's see what happens next. "Just five minutes more and I'll be off." I wasn't sure who the threat was for, whether myself or someone who wasn't present yet. I grunted and took a gulp from the glass of wine before me, putting the chalice back on the table, a clack. "Hey." The voice came and I looked up. He was dressed in a black hoodie, blue jeans, white sneakers and a pair of sunshade. Curly brown hair, cute face. Who wears a sun
