Marcus stared at the message on his phone, the weight of its implication heavy in the air. He took a deep breath, feeling the adrenaline kick in. “Evelyn, we can’t do this alone. We need our team.”

Evelyn raised an eyebrow. “Are you sure they’ll want to help? After everything that’s happened?”

“I don’t know, but they deserve to know,” Marcus replied, determination hardening his voice. “They were all wronged by the system, just like me. If we can convince them that there’s a real threat, they might be willing to join us.”

“Alright, then let’s do it,” she said, her tone resolute. “Who do you have in mind?”

“First, there’s Jake. He’s been working security since his discharge. He’s got the skills we need.”

“Jake is a hothead. Are you sure he’ll follow your lead?” Evelyn asked, skepticism creeping into her voice.

“Jake has a good heart. He just needs to know that this isn’t just about revenge—it’s about protecting people,” Marcus countered. “
