The party continued into the night; the soldiers built a sizable campfire and drank around it. Many of the captains returned to their tents, tired and wanting to rest their bodies.
Liam was the same; he went to say goodbye to Tobias. Tobias nodded, allowing Liam to leave. Now, Tobias was the only one there, just wanting to warm himself up by facing the large campfire.
Shortly after the captains and Liam left, Captain Laura came out of her tent. She was still wearing a simple T-shirt and trousers. However, her face looked much prettier thanks to the make-up she put on.
She walked over to Tobias, still sitting on a tree trunk, drinking a glass of hot tea as he warmed himself by the fire. The woman immediately sat down with Tobias.
"Did you enjoy the party?" Laura asked, Tobias smiling as he raised his glass.
"At least I can relax today before the hard days of battle come," Tobias replied.
"Let's talk about this in your tent," Laura pleaded, st
***The next day."When did he wake up?" asked Gunnar, curious."I don't know. Laura didn't say anything about Tobias' collapse," Karin replied. She had been the one to lead Tobias' healing. Since last night, she had smelled strange scents from Tobias' tent, like a mixture of sweat and something else. She and her soldiers had not been able to determine what had caused Tobias to faint, but the initial suspicion was that it was just the effects of exhaustion from partying from day to night."If he fainted due to exhaustion, it doesn't make sense. He has a strong endurance. He can even defeat hundreds of soldiers in battle and not feel slightly tired," Liam explained. The man knew exactly what Tobias' strength was like, so Karin's reasoning in explaining the cause of Tobias' unconsciousness was irrelevant. In that place, there were only Liam, Gunnar, and Karin. Edgar was seriously conversing with Laura about the effects of Tobias' unconsciousness."Today should be the day we plan additio
***The next day."Is he awake yet?" asked Liam, entering Tobias' tent.Liam could see Karin and some medics in the area, as well as Laura, who had asked Karin for permission to continue keeping Tobias company. This was the third day Tobias had been unconscious, which coincided with the plan to attack Sungate Castle.Karin shook her head. Tobias' body temperature kept getting warmer. An IV was injected into Tobias' body to prevent the young man from dehydrating during his unconsciousness. The news that Tobias had been unconscious for several days made the captains and other soldiers anxious, especially those who had previously fought alongside Tobias. They realised that losing Tobias would be a major blow to the troop."What should we do?" asked Karin."The engineer troops have completed their work. The two siege towers are ready to go," Liam replied, signalling that the troops should be ready to take to the battlefield."Time
***Two days later"I gathered you to finalize our previous plan. Our encampment location is already close enough to Sungate Castle's location. From what I saw on Atrea's map, Sungate Castle is behind that hill," Liam replied. It took about half an hour to cross the hill to reach Sungate Castle. Archibald's troops, who had just arrived at that point, made it impossible to launch an immediate attack.Liam sat on the floor right in Tobias' tent. All the captains were in the same place, without exception. They were now following Liam's words, as Tobias could still not serve due to his coma."Darren said Sungate is one of three places Valcke's troops are heavily guarding. I'm going to make the most of this. If we can take it, Valcke will be even more put under pressure," Liam replied. The Vice Commander of Archibald's troops wandered his gaze, looking at Edgar, who was in charge of reconnoitering. The activity would significantly affect the flow
***The troops were ready when it was five o'clock in the morning. Yellowish light appeared from the east, making the blue sky rise as a sign of a new day.Liam sat on his horse, accompanied by the other captains, including Karin. The tents in the camp had been cleared except for Tobias' tent. The soldiers were wearing their dark blue armor to prepare for battle. From the front, Liam watched Edgar and Gunnar arrive at the camp. Liam deliberately sent them away for good reason. The man wanted to know the circumstances at Sungate Castle that morning."All the guard posts have been destroyed. Sungate Castle's gates are sealed; it looks like they're ready for battle," Edgar explained, stopping his horse right before Liam and the other captains."What about the soldiers guarding the logistics line?" Liam asked Gunnar."They're still keeping a vigilant watch. If something bad happens there, we'll know about it," Gunnar replied."Alright. Ev
The southern wall of the castle was completely unbreakable, and the artillery strikes of the 10 trebuchets failed to destroy the iron castle. Seeing this, it was no wonder that people called it the Solar Castle due to its amazing strength and durability.Despite the failure, the trebuchets threw stones relentlessly at the city center. This was done in order to let the townspeople and soldiers of Sungate escape on their own. With the fire growing, they had no choice but to leave the place. After thirty minutes of waiting for the impact of the trebuchet attack, Liam raised his right hand as it was tightly clenched.Adrian saw Liam's hand gesture, indicating that he wanted to end the artillery attack. Adrian looked back, ordering his soldiers to stop attacking. The soldiers began to stop reloading the trebuchets, ceasing the attack and focussing their eyes on Adrian. The vibrations in the city began to subside, the soldiers who had been sheltering in
Tobias came out of the tent, startling the ten infantry soldiers standing guard outside. They hadn't expected Tobias to wake up from his coma. There wasn't a single horse in the place, so Tobias had to walk to Sungate, which was behind the hill. As Tobias was about to leave, one of the soldiers stopped him."Your condition is unstable, Lord Tobias. Let Karin's aide recover your strength first," said one of the soldiers standing before Tobias.Tobias didn't answer, instead turning to stare intently at the soldier in front of him. Realising that Tobias' attitude was hard to persuade, the soldier began to give up.He opened the way for his commander to keep walking. The young man strode back with dignity, the golden coat that looked like a shadow of a coat constantly fluttering in the wind."I'll go after him. You take care of Tobias' tent," Karin's aide said, the infantry soldiers nodding. The woman, along with her fellow medic, stepped quickl
Seeing Liam call out to her, Karin immediately rushed to the man. She was stunned to see Tobias lying limp on the ground, vomiting blood. Several captains surrounded Tobias, guarding the young man from Valcke's attack."Take him to the med tent," Liam said, and Karin nodded.Tobias was immediately carried by two medics on a stretcher. Along the way to the medical tent, she felt the man's body turn cold. Karin was much more afraid of a cold temperature than a warm temperature. Not only did his body temperature turn cold, but Karin also checked the young man's pulse. He still had a pulse, but it was weak and slow."He is dying. Take him to the private tent!" said Karin. They took Tobias to a tent set up originally to treat wounded captains, but it was now being used to treat Tobias' condition.Karin and her two soldiers arrived at the place, they lifted Tobias' body up onto the bed. Karin herself focused on getting the tools to help her task o
***The next dayTobias and his soldiers were still camped in the battle area. Liam has moved towards the Sungate city centre, he needs to organise the city to return to normal.Edgar and Adrian helped each other to gather the prisoner-of-war soldiers. The number was much larger than the prisoners of war when they were in Silkland. It could happen because most Sungate soldiers immediately lay down their weapons after the southern gate was destroyed.Tobias himself was still in the medical tent, under the full care of Karin and Anne. No one was allowed to enter and approach Tobias. They wanted to protect his fully awake condition. The tent's curtains opened, Tobias, who was eating food to fill his skinny body, began to stare at the visitor who came to the tent.It was Laura, the woman who had put him in a coma for five days. Tobias already knew his mind and heart were shackled at that time by Laura's suggestion of magic.Laura came in with her head bowed as if feeling guilty about some
