32: Dare

“Ma'am! Ma'am!” He called, but the woman didn't respond.

Kevin was afraid. He checked her pulse and was relieved that she was still breathing, but he knew that he had to get help for her.

Who knew what the woman had gone through? Besides, why was she hellbent on meeting Alessia? Something that involves Alessia involves him too.

A man rushed closer suddenly.

“Please, get an ambulance or anything!”

“I've called the ambulance! They would be here soon,” the man responded.

The voice sounded so familiar that Kevin looked up. He was surprised to see Jake.

“What! Jake? What are you doing here?”

Jake bowed. “I am here to serve you, and I will serve you till my last breath.”

Kevin stared, shocked. What!

Just as he opened his mouth to talk, the ambulance pulled up.

Jake looked at Kevin as the woman was being helped into the bus. “I will go with her and make sure she's fine. I will text you where she is as well.”

Kevin nodded once and watched the bus for a moment until it was out of sight before
