“If he can help us, I believe we will be able to survive this crisis.” Mia finished and looked at the faces of her family members. They were staring at her with confused expressions. But she hoped they would believe her and let Kevin intercede.

“Invite him to dinner tonight,” Mrs. Perry decided.

“What! No way!” Morris protested immediately. “I don't know what Mia is trying to say, but to me, I don't think Kevin is someone you should give regard to.”

“Well, we can always try unless you have a better idea,” Mia responded calmly.

Morris chuckled. “You have to be kidding me. Inviting Kevin over for a talk is not even part of it. Kevin can't do anything. He was only trying to form for you.”

Mia felt a bit annoyed at the fact that Morris was twisting her words and making everything complicated for her.
