94: Workload

The moment Kevin opened his eyes, they rested on the digital alarm clock. His eyes widened momentarily.

“8:00AM?" He murmured, his brows slightly furrowed as he massaged his right temple. Then he sluggishly pulled himself out of bed. He stopped by the alarm clock, picked it up and turned it over a few times. “This thing must be faulty,” he commented as he dropped it and made his way straight to the bathroom, making a mental note to replace it.

The previous night, he had set the alarm to wake him earlier than that. Though, he normally never needs an alarm. But he had a stressful day the previous day and he slept late. So the alarm hadn't done its required job. Although, he suspected that it tried to get its job done but he probably turned it off when his system was still drugged by sleep.

He didn't feel like his usual agile self this morning. His body yearned to return to the inviting softness of the bed, but he knew better than to give into that urge.
