Double Agent: Stuck Between the Villain and Protagonist Camp

The first plot

Due to the conflict between the protagonist and a certain villainous Triad heir, Axl had been assigned to become a double agent to spy on the protagonist once he returned from the mountain. Now he is clearly on the villain camp, and according to the plot in his memory, he only has a few chapters left. His identity will be revealed because of a certain moron, which will invite the wrath of the protagonist. Thinking of this, Axl couldn't help but feel a heart attack

There is no way to escape; he is trapped here. The villain camp background is simply too much for him to handle, and as for joining the protagonist camp, looking at how his master and senior brother treat him like a servant on the mountain, he would rather die again than become someone's servant.

Axl rubs his temples and shakes his head, trying to clear his thoughts.

'Never mind,' he tells himself

Let's take this one step at a time. I know the plot already, so I should be able to make it through. He resolves to stick to the familiar storyline for now and focus on surviving the conflict between the two opposing factions. Despite the odds, Axl believes in his abilities and feels confident that he can navigate the dangerous landscape.

"Junior brother, what happened? Is there something wrong?" Ye Feng, the protagonist, asked, seeing that Axl was silent.

Ye Feng's voice brought Axl's attention back to him. Ye Feng, the protagonist, comes from a family with a long history in the Capital city. When he was eight, his father disappeared, and he was left to live with his mother. Though Ye Feng appeared to be kind to Axl, he knew that it was only because Ye Feng needed his help. In reality, Ye Feng was also quite crazy, like a lone wolf ready to devour anything in his path. The original novel portrayed him as a fierce character. In the original novel, after discovering Axl's true identity, Ye Feng stabs him to death.

'This brother is not a good person!' Axl looked at Ye Feng who was driving seriously in the main driver's seat. Although he knew the plot, he still asked. "Senior brother, is everything all right? May I know why you need me to come down the mountain now?"

"No worries, it's only a small thing." Ye Feng held the steering wheel in his hand with a look of indifference.

"Then?" Axl asked again.

Ye Feng turned to Axl and said, "As you may know, I recently clashed with a powerful enemy. Although I'm not particularly worried about them, I'm currently occupied with other matters and don't have the time to deal with them myself. However, my primary concern is my mother's safety. I need your help to act as her bodyguard for a while and ensure she remains safe.

Axl nodded when he heard this. He already knew the plot, but just to be sure, he asked.

However, Ye Feng thought that his junior brother was dissatisfied because he suddenly asked him to come down from the mountain to do a minor task.

Ye Feng anxiously said,  "Please don't misunderstand, junior brother. I know you are capable of greater things than just being a bodyguard, but I need your help with this. Rest assured, I won't treat you unfairly. I am willing to offer a generous salary of 20,000 yuan per month for your services."

As Ye Feng mentioned the generous salary, Axl's face brightened up. "Senior brother, I am truly grateful for your trust and generosity. Thank you for this opportunity, I will do my best to serve you," Axl said with appreciation.

He hoped that his response would impress Ye Feng enough to consider giving him a salary raise. However, to his disappointment, Ye Feng simply nodded in satisfaction without giving any indication of a pay increase. If Axl had known this, he would have grunted in frustration instead.

The salary of 20,000 yuan was quite high. Axl didn't say anything again and sat quietly in the co-pilot's seat. After a while, the two arrived at their destination. Ye Feng looked at Axl as he walked out of the car door and said, "Junior brother, wait for a moment."

Axl was already irritated every time he looked at Ye Feng and thinking about his salary increase made him more irritated, so he wanted to leave quickly before he went berserk.

"Phew..." Axl took a deep breath and crouched by the car window. "What happened, senior brother?"

"Junior brother, I have already mentioned you to my mother, and she is already waiting for you. Now I can't accompany you inside. By the way, she might be a bit unfriendly to strangers, so be patient and careful with her," Ye Feng said seriously.

"Understood, senior brother." Axl nodded.

Seeing Axl agree, Ye Feng was also relieved.

"I still have some things to do here, so I'll go first," Ye Feng said as he accelerated his car.

Axl looked at Ye Feng who was leaving, and couldn't help shaking his head. If Ye Feng continued to hold him back, maybe he would have sent Ye Feng to the hospital. He turned around and stepped into the door of the company.
