Elena still couldn't believe it, digesting the fact that Ares went to this extent regardless of what she had done to him was so unexpected. She didn't see this coming.

Part of her knew that no matter what Ares did she'd still not be able to forgive him for murdering her father but what he did for her sister and the vile accusations she had spat on him made guilt eat her up and she knew she had to apologize for that.
