After Joshua had been broken and gone cold.

“You want to change your first name? Mr Joshua?.” The woman behind the glass asked as she stared at the document placed on the counter.

Joshua nodded with a flushed look on his face.

“Okay Sir, and what will you change it to?.”

“Xavier.”

It was the morning already, at exactly 4:30 am the alarm on Vannessa's wall rang out as her whole life depended on that sound. Vanessa's constant turning, groaning, and covering of ears only confirmed her consciousness.

"Arrrrgh, good Heavens. Who gets woken rudely by a clock they bought with their money and accommodates at their home?" Vanessa said she kicked hard the duvet out of her body, her legs on the floor, and staggered into the bathroom.
