Dalis had no idea what happened next, the world seemed to fizzle out into nothingness and even his mind went silent.
“Ahhhhhhh,” he started to scream as he regained consciousness, his body felt like it was being stretched into a straw, when he suddenly felt his body scrape against something.
Then bang!!!!!!!
He hit the ground hard.
“Cough… cough… cough!” Dalis choked as dust fluttered through his mouth and nose.
“Forget bruising, I think I broke a couple of somethings,” he groaned out as he clawed at the ground, the first thing he noticed was it was solid and rough.
‘What just happened?’
Dalis suddenly paused, he was just about to think that thought, but something seemed to have beat him to it.
‘No,’ he thought shaking his head ‘My head is just a little wonky from all the craziness…’ the sound of an ex
The tidal wave off… earth… rushed forth climbing over the buildings swallowing them whole and adding them to its increasing height. The ground shook under Dalis and lifted him, sending him flying with the child in arms, his body moved instinctively and curled around the boy, protecting him as he was flung at least a hundred meters forward. Dalis rolled to a stop and the boy tumbled to the ground in an unconscious heap. He rolled his tongue around his mouth and spat out a glob of wet dust, then he hurled the boy over his shoulder and limped down the street as he limped he noticed the cause, it was his right leg that like his hand was a bazillion times larger. He aimed the blame for his condition to that damnable vile of corrupted energy, he knew that it wasn’t safe. All around him was pandemonium, as he pulled himself along the streets, he noticed a sea of water in the d
Zip. The winds whistled from high above down onto the city ruins, a city that had once been filled with glory, a relic on an age passed, but an age that had ended not long ago. Vines wrapped around the lampposts and green moss crept up the damp walls of decrepit buildings that had once stood tall and proud in the sky of Progress Island. Zap. The tranquillity of the wind was suddenly disturbed as motion found its way into the abandoned land. “Woohoo,” a young woman belched as she swung through the air, a long green cloak flapping as she soared upon the wind. Her long black hair tussled through the air as she zipped along freely, with one hand extended out, a metallic gauntlet was locked upon her arm and a long cable extended out, the cable was thin hardly thicker than a strand of hair, the tip of the cable darted out lodging itself into the wall of a high building. A gust of wind suddenly shot out from her arm propelling her forward with even greater speed, she swung across the
Siara ran through the open door on the roof top with her cannon musket ready, as the first one came running she let it draw close, the moment it swiped at her it belched out a grotesque roar, she pressed the tip of the barrel into its mouth and pulled on the trigger. BOOOM A shell half the size of a fist exploded out the barrel head, blowing the zombies head to bits, and it continued blowing a hole straight through the next one in line. The zombies went crazy when the loud sound reached them, and came rushing in a greater flurry. Siara pulled back and put in a second shell, she waited for them to line up again and pulled on the trigger once more, this time it tore through at least three. She quickly put the musket back in its holster, she only had one more shell on her, they were too bulky to carry around many shells. She ran back out and shot the
Siara dropped the topic sensing that her uncle didn’t want to discuss it any further. She went down next to him and pulled out a few medical supplies from her little pack and went to treat the wound on her uncle’s face, blood was still pouring out of it profusely. Her uncle swiftly moved his head back, “It’s nothing serious, I’ll be fine,” he said in complaint. “Shush now,” Siara spoke with a tone as she grabbed his head and started to wipe away the blood, “You could get an infection,” she said applying an ointment to stop the bleeding. “I swear girl, you’re as bad as your aunt,” he said keeping still with a begrudging look. “Maybe that’s because we both know what’s best for you,” she replied grabbing his head even tighter, her actions also became slightly rougher. When she finally got a good look at the wound, she was surprised by how deep it was
“Princess is there any point in doing this?” Siara’s uncle asked with a look of reluctance. “Of course there is,” Siara said giving him that look, that said if he didn’t do what she wanted he would be faced with her temper tantrum, “I’m going to give my saviour a proper burial,” she said. Her uncle sighed and reached down, with his added strength, they still struggled a little but eventually managed to lift it up and turn it over. Gong It released a loud ring as it hit the ground, the two quickly checked the surroundings, to see if any stray beasts decided to attack. They sighed softly, everything seemed safe… for now, they looked back down where the bell had been little bits of white powder could be seen on the ground and tiny little fragments that was likely crushed bone. Siara looked at the upturned side of the bell, there she saw most of the s
“Tsk,” Dalis clicked his tongue as the creature tried to ram into him. But he wasn’t having it, he sent out one firm smack, that hit the creature so hard it toppled over and ate the ground, Siara shouted something but he didn’t hear it. The thing was still alive, but before it could get up he smashed it’s chest with a solid kick then stomped it locking it in place. He caught its arms and pressed it down taking a close look at it, it had red lines on its face, like Siara’s. ‘A mutated native of this world that’s mindless, this must be a zombie,’ he concluded. ‘My people have done extensive research into the zombie’s, they spread by infecting the members of their race, infections are transmitted through physical contact with its target… etc…, I doubt there is much more I can discover about them,’ he thought and started ruthlessly stomping on its head.
Siara landed in front of Dalis looking at him with shock, “How did you do that?” she asked it had taken her over a year to gain a skill that would allow her to do something similar, she was extremely surprised especially since she knew that he died when the Records descended and he had just back from the dead. “Not sure,” Dalis replied looking at his limp arm like it was a foreign part of his body, which it kinda was, “But I suppose that it was pretty cool huh?” he asked with a bashful smile. Siara looked away with a glint of amusement in her eye as she bent down to inspect the shredded pack. Dalis followed Siara’s gaze, before looking at the records he gained, a frown soon formed on his face which quickly turned into thoughtful look. ‘This is wrong, this was just a random mob but their lowest level was 7, but that isn’t the hardest part to believe, that hound in the lead was of the Monstrous rank, such beasts should be rare and hard to find,’ he though with a furrowed brow. He c
Dalis stood surrounded by a group of mean looking soldiers, and for some reason it felt like all of them wanted to pick a fight with him. Dalis suddenly felt a firm grip on his shoulder, he turned to see that it was Siara, “Now I’m sure that all of you can keep your question to yourselves for a day,” “Our guest…” she paused and looked at Dalis with a puzzled look, it only occurred to her then that she never asked his name. “Dreamer,” said on reflex sensing that his name was required. Siara looked at him feeling amused, “Our guest Dreamer, is tired, you can ask him what ever you want in the morning,” she said smiling at the soldiers. “As you wish princess,” they replied in a respectful tone and allowed Siara to pull him along. As he moved through the crowd Dalis heard several murmurs, mostly the soldiers saying his name, also there was one other th
