Chapter 11: Burn

Arthur could feel goosebumps as he saw the gargoyle, he remembered that back in his world, there was a popular superhero in the movies that would grapple onto a gargoyle and sit on it.

Arthur then tried mimicking what the fictional hero did and shot the grappling hook onto the gargoyle, as the hook got stuck on the gargoyle, Arthur then pushed a button that was built into the device and it pulled him towards the statue.

And although what he did might be significant, what was more greater was that nobody saw him did that, meaning that he could safely continue the operation.

However, even though nobody saw him getting on top of the gargoyle, they definitely heard something.

And just as expected, one of the rebels heard the sound from the gargoyle and looked above. He felt as if that there was something definitely there.

The rebel then ran towards one one of the other rebel guards, "Something got onto the gargoyle."He whispered.

The guard nodded and slowly walked towards large bell that was hung. He then took a stick and with all the energy he had, he hit the bell.

Everyone that was surrounding the mansion started running everywhere. Arthur who was on the roof, heard the commotion that was happening. 'They couldn't have found that I have broken in, right?' Arthur thought.

But then he could hear the voices of what seems to be the leader of the rebel guards.

"Guard 504 has heard a sound from the gargoyle, I want team A to investigate this and the other teams to initiate protocol 3!" The rebel guard leader shouted.

Team A of the rebel guards then ran towards the gargoyle and climbed on top of it to see if what their rebel comrade heard.

One of the rebels looked at the gargoyle and shook his head. "Nothing here, I can't find any footprints or any evidence that someone was here." The rebel said.

Another rebel took a closer look, "Well, that is what the enemy wants to make us think, if you look closely there any signs that someone has brushed this statue a few minutes ago, meaning that there is definitely someone here." He said before shouting, "The enemy is here!!!!"

Arthur who was just on the other side of the roof closed his mouth to avoid being detected by the rebels.

"If I continue this, they will definitely find me. I should start knocking some of the rebels out." Arthur told himself before putting on his X-ray goggles.

He then looked behind him through the rooftop that was blocking his view and used the X-ray vision to see who was right behind it.

He would see that the rebels was already getting down from the roof, and only one of them was left, and so he crouched and slowly approached last rebel that was on the roof from behind and started choking the guard out. Thankfully, Arthur was far stronger and the rebel was snoring in no time.

Arthur the purposefully, broke one of the tiles and and drop the guy that he choked out with the tiles that he just broke away from the roof.

As the rebels that was on the floor saw their comrade fall from the building and landed on the floor, they thought it was because of the broken brick that might have been the cause of it.

The leader of that team saw his injured and knocked out comrade and looked at the other rebel guards that was with him. "Get him to the doctor." He said.

"But sir, don't you think that what had just happen to our comrade might be the work of the enemy?" One of the rebels asked.

"You fool, why would someone knock someone out instead of just killing them? You are an elite guard but you still have the mind of the infant!" The leader of group A said before walking away.

Arthur breath a sigh of relief as he saw that the guards that was near him almost caught him.

But as he peeked down from the roof he could see that the guards were starting to get more active knowing that he was here.

"I am seriously lucky that they don't even mind checking the roof." He told himself before he started crawling around the roof.

He didn't even need to try finding for a way to enter since there is already a place that he could use to enter from the roof and that was the chimney that was right in front of him "Jackpot!" He whispered to himself before he started climbing down the chimney. He lied his back on one side and used his legs to push himself against the wall while slowly descending down the chimney to avoid falling down.

As he reached near the fire that was just below him, he closed his mouth to avoid coughing and making noise to avoid attract any attention.

He then stood on top of the fire that had no affect on him considering that the suit that he was using was protecting him and as he looked thought the fire he could see that the room that he was inside was empty.

And so he walked out of the fireplace and and dust off all of the charcoal that had stained his shirt.

The room that he was in looked like a meeting room more than anything and he could hear the rebel guards walking outside of it.

Arthur then turned on his X-ray vision and could see that one of the rebel guards was opening the door and was coming inside.

Arthur then hid behind the meeting table and looked at the guard scouting the room.

But Arthur could hear that the door was closed, even though the guard was still in the room walking.

Arthur saw the opportunity and immediately crawled quietly behind the guard and choked him out in a second.

As he saw the guard that was lying on the floor he knew that he couldn't just leave the man on the floor or else, the rest of the guards would panic, so he hid the fainted rebel behind the table.

Arthur then put on his X-ray goggles and saw that there was only one person that was guarding the room and smiled.

Arthur then opened the door confidently and as the rebel guard saw him coming out of the door he was about to shout to notify the other rebels.

But Arthur grabbed the guard by the collar and immediately choked him out and threw the rebel inside the meeting room.

It didn't take long before Arthur had choked out the guards that what in the floor he was in. But as he looked around with his X-ray goggles he could see a figure in a room that had the same body shape of the Lord that was rumored to lead the rebellion.

But he also realized that the Lord wasn't alone.

And so after thinking fast, Arthur then ran inside the meeting room again before breaking a chair and putting it against the fireplace.

Arthur then took the burning wood and ran outside where he threw the burning wood on the wooden floor.
