Once they regained their courage the hunt proceeded like any other despite death being far closer than usual. Thanks to it's size the dragon wasn't too fast which left the Hunters with enough of an opening to dodge when necessary. That said, their arracks weren't doing much. The scales covering the beast were too hard and the hide beneath them was thick as well. After half an hour of continuous fighting no one managed to penetrate the dragon's defences."It's mocking us…" Loki said to nobody in particular. "It knows we won't be able to hurt ot, that's why it didn't fly into the sky…"The Thundercloud had been on the ground ever since its appearance. It has no reason for doing that, being able to finish them off from up in the sky, however it stayed low. Most likely because of that person. He's been taunting the beast the entire time roaring like a monster himself. The Thundercloud had kept its attention on Drake alone ignoring the rest of the Hunters which was good and bad at the sam
Amidst the dust and the rubble falling from the sky a black pilare Ross to the sky. It rolled around itself in a spiral before settling several meters in the air watching the distraction it had caused. The lightning rods were completely useless. The shockwave was nothing like the magic Thunderclouds were known to use and it ended in such destruction. The hunters laid on the ground like dead ants, only a few could muster the power to move. Among them was Laura who leaned on her rapier for support. What's going on here… she thought, unable to stop her body from shaking. This isn't what I was told…She gazed up at the dragon, now back to its previous black color. As she did she remembered the information she had received from her father a few weeks ago. He was the one who had compiled information on Thunderclouds on her request and granted her permission to engage with it as well. Normally she wouldn't be allowed to go after such monstrosity, however looking at the circumstances her fa
Filling his lungs with air Drake released a Dragon Roar."_________________!!!!!"The skill gave him the buff he was looking for, enhancing his courage while shifting the Thundercloud's attention back to him.The black Dragon glared at him before releasing a roar of its own. It took off to the sky throwing Roland aside. Once in the air it flew around in circles before diving down toward Drake.Seeing the beast approaching Drake coated his blade in the aira of multiple Sharp Blades, at the same time another skill activated covering his body in a black mist.[Skill: Dark Aura.]He didn't know what effect it had so he ignored it for now. Drake dashed forward building some momentum before leaping toward the diving black dragon."___________!!!"Ignoring the beast's roar as it prepared to swallow him Drake flipped his body moving out of the way before swinging at the wound he had caused to its mouth before.Blood sprayed as the heavy sword dug deeper into the dragon's unprotected flesh cau
same as the others Drake was stunned by the power of his attack. The black crescent was so sharp it cut right through the beast's skull splitting it in half. Its gigantic body suddenly went limp like a puppet whose strings were cut losing whatever power kept it afloat and falling to the ground. Drake soon followed after. Thankfully Riland was there to catch him. "YOU DID IT!" Loki shouted with teary eyes. "You son of a botch you did it!!!"The reality only hit once they were on the ground. Drake looked back at the giant dead serpent, his mind filled with one thought. This is it… looking downnat his hands, a smile slowly creeped onto his face. This is the feeling! He has been looking for it since the time he fought the Alpha; the thrill of fighting a powerful opponen. The Thundercloud was a calamity to say the least. Seeing how many had yet to move it was safe to say that very few had survived the hunt. If Drake hadn't evolved his Beast Soul the odds of him coming out on top were h
"Alright then." Drake said, looking at the other side of his room while sitting on his bed. "I've got a few questions for you.""..."Laura glared at him intensely, her lips pursed. She didn't understand what's going on. One second she was on the battlefield where they fought the Thundercloud, the next she was on the floor of some shabby inn with her arms and legs tied. She soon remembered that the guy sitting opposite to her, the Hunter named Drake, had killed one of her subordinates. Rage filled her and her blood began to boil, however she was smart enough to realize there is nothing she could do.Earlier, moments after Drake had devoured the Thundercloud Soul, the rest of the Little Giants woke up and tried their look at Drake. Though he didn't kill all of them, he left them with injuries severe enough that they were unable to do anything as he picked their leader and walked away. He left the rest of the work to his party manager. Loki didn't like the idea of doing the clean up, h
"And now to celebrate the man who slayed the dragon! Everyone! Raise your cups!" A man shouted at the top of his lungs, holding a large mug over his head. "CHEERS!!!"Drake watched with amusement as the tavern erupted with cheers and applause. He was the guest of honor, the man who had slain the Thundercloud after a long battle that almost took the lives of the entire raid team. Three days have passed since the battle. The dead have been buried and the the survivors were paid, all that's left was to celebrate coming out of the battle alive and well."Hey hey!" One of the Hunters approached Drake. "How did you do it!? Hiw did you kill the dragon?""Yeah! Tell us man!" Another followed."I wouldn't have believe it if I didn't see the corpse! How did you shave its head off like that!!?" Another joined in."Well I don't exactly know the specifics." Drake said, feeling a bit overwhelmed. "I combined some new magic I learned with Sharp Blade and it just worked.""Magic and skills!!?""At
"Alright, then." Drake said, stretching his arms before turning to face his companions. "Let's go.""Um, Drake, I have a… little question…" Roland said, raising his hand as if he was inna classroom."Is something wrong?" "Well I was just wondering…" Roland's eyes drifted to his side where a certain pink haired girl stood. "Is she going to be traveling with us?"The one he looked at was none other then Laura, the former leader of the Little Giants. She had quite the frown on her face, turning to the tall man with a glare he didn't understand the reason behind."Yeah." Drake said with a smile. "She's trying to get revenge for that guy I killed the other day or something. She'll be sticking around for a while." Upon hearing his answer, both Roland and Laura's eyes went wide open. The girl was stunned that her intentions were seen through, and the way Drake acted as if that didn't matter hurt her pride. He didn't see her as a threat, otherwise he wouldn't allow her to travel with him.
"Land… finally…" The moment they arrived at the port, Laura collapsed to her knees. Her face was pale and weathered, her hair disheveled. It looked like she hadn't taken care of herself for days despite the flight having been just a few hours. "C'mon now, thay doesn't suit a rich young lady like you." Drake said, his voice oozing with sarcasm."Shut up!" Laura turned to him with a glare. "You don't know how it feels!""And I don't care." Drake said, his friendly expression having vanished. "Now make yourself useful.""Alright alright." Laura said, getting up and dusting her knees. "This doesn't look like a kingdom to me." Said Drake, observing the surroundings."This is the port city Ironside. Yes it has the same name as the island." Laura replied, her eyes rolling."There are quite a few mines around here, hence the name." Roland added."Then we should get going. We don't have much time." Drake began walking but stopped after a few steps. The other two weren't moving, they just s
