CHAPTER 29:

Edward's expression suddenly lightened up the moment he saw Maria in front of him, but he was still engulfed in surprise at her request.

"Did you just say I should dance with you?" he asked, fidgeting.

"Yes, or do you have a girl? Because I can't find anyone around you." Maria turned around, searching to see if there was a girl nearby, but Edward shook his head.

"No, no, no, there's no one. I was just sur—ermmm—weren't you dancing with a guy—" Edward stuttered, his eyes still locked with Maria's green orbs.

Having stretched out her hand for a while, Maria said, "C'mon Edward, my hand is already hurting."

"Oh, I'm sorry," he quickly took her hand. Maria gulped down her remaining drink and placed the glass on the table as she looked up at him with a smile. Her facial expression and tone showed she had already had a lot to drink and was intoxicated.
