Chapter 7: Marrying The Elf Princess

After a few minutes worth of contemplation, Ainsley finally decided. “I am willing to inherit your legacy and marry your daughter.”

Hearing Ainsley’s words, Beluar was delighted. “Since you agreed, then let us formally introduce ourselves!”

“I am Beluar Ruvyn Triandal Deux Liarieth, the 12th generation king of the elf race!”

After Beluar finished his introduction, the Elf Princess who was silent at the side finally spoke. “Floryn Shalheira Virdieu Deux Liarieth, the princess of the elf race.”

Floryn’s soft and melodic voice made Ainsley’s heart skip a beat. It was like meeting your crush and your crush talking to you. Such wonderful emotions and anticipation made Ainsley nervous but he immediately regained his confidence.

“I am Ainsley Wagner, the future king of the elf race and the heir of the 12th generation king of the elf race!”

Ainsley’s introduction undoubtedly allowed him to obtain a good impression from Beluar and Floryn. After all, his introduction meant that he had already accepted his identity as the heir of Beluar and the future king of the elf race.

Since Ainsley had already decided to support the elf race, he wasn’t resistant to becoming the heir of Beluar as well as the future king of the elf race. After all, he knew that since he had accepted Beluar’s offer, he would eventually become the king of the elf race in the future.

“So, what do we do now? Should I learn magic or marry Floryn first?”

Hearing Ainsley’s question, Floryn wasn’t resistant and didn’t make any objections when she heard that Ainsley would marry her.

After all, she had long prepared herself for this. Even if the person who was summoned wasn’t as handsome as Ainsley, Floryn knew that it was her duty as the Elf Princess to marry the summoned hero to tie him with the elf race.

Otherwise, if the summoned hero didn’t have any relationship with the elf race, it will be difficult to assure that he wouldn’t betray the elf race.

Although it might seem like Floryn was forced to marry Ainsley, she wasn’t that resistant since she knew that only a capable man who was worthy of becoming her husband could be summoned as the summoned hero of the elf race.

Rather than letting the elf race be invaded and conquered by the summoned heroes of the human race and be reduced as their war slaves, Floryn had already bet her future and the future of the elf race to Ainsley.

Beluar immediately responded to Ainsley’s question after several seconds' worth of contemplation. “Marry my daughter first. We aren’t in a hurry for you to become stronger. After all, the summoned heroes of the human race aren’t that powerful yet.”

“With your potential, you can easily surpass them even if they are stronger than you currently. So you should marry my daughter and familiarize yourself with the world of Eternia first before inheriting my legacy.”

Hearing Beluar’s answer to his question, Ainsley wasn’t surprised. He already expected this and just like how Beluar was adamant in letting him marry Floryn, Ainsley also couldn’t help but want to marry Floryn as soon as possible.

After all, it was not Ainsley’s fault that Floryn was too beautiful!

Floryn was the most beautiful girl that Ainsley had ever seen. Even those models and idols in his world look like cheap dolls in front of Floryn. The comparison was like the difference between heaven and earth, too far apart.

“How do I marry Floryn then? I don’t know about the marriage custom of the elf race. I doubt the marriage tradition in my home world is similar to your race’s.”

In response to Ainsley’s question which was already expected by Beluar, Beluar explained. “The marriage of the elf race ranges from extravagant to simplistic ones.”

“But with how dire the situation is, we can’t afford to hold an extravagant wedding. So we can only resort to having a simple marriage.”

“The groom and bride only need to swear an oath with the heavens as the witness and seal it with a kiss. But after swearing the oath, it must not be broken or else the heavens will punish the one who violated it.”

After his explanation, Beluar coughed and asked. “Ahem! Are the two of you ready to get married or not? So we can start as soon as possible.”

Much to their surprise, Ainsley and Floryn responded in unison. “I am ready.”

Due to their in-sync response, they instinctively shifted their gaze toward each other. When their eyes met, they gazed at each other’s beautiful and handsome faces.

After seeing each other’s faces, they blushed in shyness since their respective appearances had stunned the other party. Both of them didn’t have any resistance towards their upcoming marriage even if the two of them had met each other just recently.

When their gazes met each other before, they had already started to evaluate each other and knew that they were worthy to be with each other.

Noticing that Ainsley and his daughter weren’t resistant about the upcoming marriage between them, Beluar spoke. “Since the both of you are ready, let’s initiate the marriage. Hold each other’s hand.”

Hearing Beluar’s words, Ainsley and Floryn stood up from their respective thrones and walked forward to each other. When they were a meter in front of each other, they both looked at Beluar out of nervousness and shyness.

In response to that, Beluar motioned with his eyes for the two of them to give out their hands to each other.

Receiving Beluar’s permission, Ainsley and Floryn both moved their hands toward each other. Their warm and delicate hands locked unto each other, holding each other’s hands.

Ainsley felt two warm, and smooth hands placed on both his palms, interlocked with his own. His heartbeat quickened. He felt that it was so surreal that the girl who moved his heart when he first saw her after he was summoned into Eternia would marry him.

“Now swear to the heavens to accept each other as husband and wife, and swear on mana, blood, family, ancestors, and the world that you will both love each other dearly and support each other in difficult times. You will be happy in each other’s glory and take care of each other when you’re sick.” Beluar explained the process with a cheerful voice, as he was happy that his daughter was getting married.

“I, Ainsley Wagner, swear to the heavens to take this girl right in front of my eyes, who is the most noble and beautiful existence in my heart, as my wife. I swear on my mana, blood, family, ancestors, and the world to always love her dearly. I will be happy in her glory and support her in her difficult times. I’ll take good care of her whenever she is sick and will do my best to protect her in times of danger. I’ll keep those words as long as she doesn’t betray me.” Ainsley said while looking into Floryn’s jewel-like golden-colored eyes.
