Chapter 6: Whether To Support The Elf Race Or Not?

Faced with Ainsley’s question, the Elf King answered after some thought. “Assuming we have a ten-point overall potential evaluation as the maximum… A human has a potential of 1, a dwarf has a potential of 3, a demon has a potential of 5, an elf has a potential of 6, a dragon has a potential of 9, and a hero has a potential of 10.”

“As for you, from my estimation, your potential has already exceeded 10 and is at least 11.”

“This is the average overall potential evaluation for the members of all races. So even if a human has a potential of 1, their prodigy is several times higher than it. Same with other races. Unfortunately, the human race is too blessed and their prodigies could defeat our prodigies and the prodigies of other races.”

Ainsley was naturally pleased when he was evaluated highly by the Elf King and he knew that the Elf King was unlikely to lie to him regarding that. After all, if that was a lie, it could easily be exposed later on when the Elf King would check his talent for magic.

Hearing such a high evaluation, Ainsley couldn’t wait to start learning about magic and he was eager to become stronger!

Beluar noticed Ainsley’s eagerness but in response to that, he reminded. “If you want to inherit my legacy and become my successor, one of the requirements is to marry my daughter and become my son-in-law.”

“After all, the royal elf’s magic can’t be spread to outsiders so you can only become a member of the royal family if you want to inherit my legacy.”

“I know this will become a huge turning point in your life so I will give you enough time to think about it.”

After saying that to Ainsley, Beluar waved his hand and a throne appeared behind Ainsley which was slightly larger than the Elf Princess’ throne.

In other words, Beluar gave Ainsley the treatment that was equal to someone who possessed a royal bloodline even if Ainsley hadn’t officially agreed to become the Elf Princess’ husband yet.

It showed how Beluar respected Ainsley’s current status even if Ainsley hadn’t agreed yet. After all, even if Ainsley refused, he would still eventually support the elf race since the elf race would become his backer in this chaotic world.

“Thank you.”

After nodding his head and thanking Beluar, Ainsley sat on the throne and he was currently contemplating his decision regarding the matter.

‘The Elf Princess might be the most beautiful girl I have met, but there are plenty of fishes in the sea. It is not worth it to risk my life fighting against other races just for a girl when I can just find another one in the future.’

‘Due to that, I shouldn’t let my judgment be hindered just because the Elf Princess is a beauty.’

Knowing that this would become the turning point of his life, Ainsley no longer allowed himself to be affected by the Elf Princess’ beauty. Although he admitted that the Elf Princess was beautiful, he knew that he shouldn’t allow it to affect his judgment.

‘From a rational point of view, it is best if I accept the offer of the Elf King. Not only can I become stronger, but I can also obtain the support and backing of the elf race. As long as I obtain their support, I can obtain the resources I needed to become stronger.’

‘It will be a stupid decision if I reject the Elf King. Even if I disagree with marrying his daughter as well as inheriting his legacy, I at least shouldn’t fall out with the elf race, or else my weak strength can’t allow me to escape from here.’

‘So I can only support the elf race even if I don’t want to become the inheritor of the Elf King’s legacy.’

Ainsley knew that when the Elf King had summoned him to this world, he was already left with no choice but to support the elf race.

Don’t look at how kind and amiable the Elf King was when talking with Ainsley. Ainsley knew that the Elf King’s personality was good towards him because he wasn’t an enemy of the elf race.

If he became an enemy of the elf race, then he could only be buried six feet under.

Ainsley knew that as a king, Beluar would do anything for the prosperity of the elf race even if it was to eliminate him. Although Ainsley knew that he was forced to be summoned out of his own volition, the fact that Beluar gave so many benefits and compensations meant that he could only receive it and not accepting it was out of his choices.

Beluar could make such sacrifices which meant that his support for the elf race was important.

‘In another sense, I am the hope of the elf race to turn the tide in the war against the rest of the major races. The Elf King has likely pinned his hope to me in at least surviving against the threat of the summoned heroes of the human race. Because of that, it is impossible for me to reject the Elf King’s request for supporting the elf race.’

‘Like how it’s impossible for me to reject it, it’s also impossible for me to not accept such huge benefits. After all, even if the value of the Elf King’s compensation were converted to the money in my past life, it should have already surpassed a trillion dollars.’

‘After all, the magic of the elf race as well as the knowledge and teachings I would receive from the Elf King is priceless and sought after by even the human mages. Just from that alone, supporting the elf race is not a loss for me.’

‘Not to mention, I don’t see the reason why I should go back to my home world. My parents can just treat it as a missing person case and treat it as if I have already passed away.’

‘Anyways, every day, people die. It won’t be unusual for me to ‘die’ so my parents should be able to get over with it in a few years after my disappearance.’

Ainsley had already steeled his heart and decided that he wouldn’t waste his time and effort in returning to his home world. He knew how much of a futile and difficult effort that was.

Even the human race who could summon dozens of heroes had yet to have the method to return the summoned heroes to their home world.

‘Isn’t the Elf King sincere enough to even offer his beautiful daughter’s hand in marriage to me? Why should I disagree then? I doubt the other races are sincere enough to grant me that much benefits.’

In the end, Ainsley was convinced due to the Elf Princess’ beauty.
