Chapter 14 – Maybe A Drop Of Blood

After some hours, the teams were finally done crazing with the Trogen that was a Challenge for Ying, and lot more easier for Silas who blood-bent the creature until death.

The huge door of hall finally closed as the illusionists who were mana exhausted came with a conclusion to put a stop to the daily training with the illusions.

“Wait…. But why, don’t I pay you enough.” Kiara cursed at the four men who stared quietly to the ground, without a response to her words “Don’t keep me quite.”

“We’re sorry empress Mihou, but we are going to slump dead to the ground one day if we are to continue with the illusion.” One of the men bravely answered, staring face to face at Kiara whose face revealed pure anger “And…. And, we’re always mana exhausted after a single fight with one of them.”

The man pointed out to Ghou and the other three who stood vogue behind Kiara with a blank face “Yet, we go beyond our limits, just for them.”

“Well… But can’t you help us with one more day.” Kiara shuttered, ignorant of the men’s situation as she had never been mana exhausted, not as an empress, or as a normal individual she once was

“You have to understand them Ki… empress Mihou.” Ghou gulped down his words in anger for Kiara an empress. Even as he wasn’t overly determined to be an emperor in the past, he always felt a bit jealous when it come to hearing her called the empress “Anyways, our abilities could go numb for a long period of time, or even days if I were to go beyond my boundaries, and that must be the same with them.”

After a long thought, Kiara finally succumbed to the request of the men “Okay, request granted.”

She reluctantly replied to the men who humbly gave a bow before  walking away from the Palace hallway

“Now what do we do.” Kiara turned to the group who stared at her with a blank facial expression, lost in thought “Don’t stare at me, just….”

“Well, absolutely nothing.” A smile finally crept into Ying’s cheeks as she began to walk towards the exit door “This is our second day here, and we’ve learnt a lot, and a temporary stay-at-home would cost a thing. So I guess we’ll all relax at home until the fifth dawn when the hunt begin.”

Kiara stared at Ying with a puzzled face carefully listening to each and every words that Ying said. And some second she finally gave a shrug, complying into her words

“Oh, then it’s her deal. Thank you.” Ying stormed out of the corridor, vividly in a hurry to leave. Just then, Cheng and Silas gave a bow before exiting the Palace alongside Ying

“Hum, such a stressful and busy day.” Kiara muttered already making her way to her chambers

“Emm, Kiara, about the book from my parents, did you happen to have gave a glance into the pages before giving it to me?”

“No, why would I.” Kiara instantly gave a halt, turning behind to Ghou who vastly followed behind “There’s a torn page.”

“No, that isn’t it. Just that the book is not opening.” Ghou mouthed his words instantly hasting his step towards the Throne room where he kept the valuable prop.

After some minutes, Ghou and Kiara reached the wide opened door of the Throne room where the book waited peacefully on top of a golden lectern that hid behind some bookshelves

“What should you expect, books looking like this aren’t normal, it’ll definitely need a power stone to unlock it.” Kiara picked the heavy book from its position, dusting the reappearing speck of dust from it body

“Well, as you can clearly see, it doesn’t have a stone chambers.” Ghou sat back to an empty seat leaving Kiara to stare at the book in awe

“Then… Yeah, maybe it need a drop of your blood in this layer.” Kiara pointed to a silky spot in the center of the book drawing the attention of Ghou who allowed a smile to creep into his face

“That’s right, but I can’t do that here, so I have to go home. Thank you, bye.” Ghou instantly took the book from Kiara who smiled at him cheerfully

“Okay, time to see what’s hidden inside of you.” Ghou muttered with a smile as he sat on his bed staring down at the book which rested upon his laps, while holding a small pin which he abruptly pierced into this thumb causing a litter of blood to sprinkle out

“And now for the unknown.” He removed the pin from the thumb, immediately placing it unto the small hole. After scanning the cover being littered with blood, Ghou finally let go of the book, waiting for the unknown.

Suddenly, the book made a small brief glow followed by an sound that confirmed that the book had been unlocked. Without patience, Ghou dug his fingers into the first page of the book, lost in mystery about the content.

A smile crept into Ghou’s face seeing the page which went directly into the book’s catalogue

“Fire wall, fire vein, fiery tower……” Ghou muttered all the topic the book introduced, which made it vivid that it was nothing more than a talent book. One from the Fe’s generation that held complete details of all the abilities under the component of fire.

“Those this mean I can learn how to possess the flame dragon.” He instantly fell into a trance in imagination of how he was going to perform the ability to the world and resurrect the memories of his late parents, but that was only possible once he had the knowledge. Immediately after some minutes, Ghou began to scroll through the content in search of the two special words which he wasn’t present even to the last page.

“Nooo.” Ghou laid to his bed in disapproval to the ability being absent in the book “No, it must be here.”

But Ghou was so wrong with his words as he tried finding a single ability out of the hundreds that were written into the book. Just amidst his search, his eyes caught a mesmerizing name for any ability ‘The grasping thread’

“Whoa, this must be fancy.”
