Chapter 27 – Intimidation Against Intimidation

“He really is insane.”

“Could you imagine anyone challenging Wu Wang generation, let alone of Wu Luau, their golden apple.”

The whispering between the crowd drastically increased with most of them referring to Ghou as stupid or insane.

The guard however upon hearing Ghou’s words clenched his fist until it was at its tightest before turning to his gaze to Wu Luau whose face popped veins as he glared at him.

Xia on the other side was already shivering with fright due to Ghou’s rude reply to all their questions.

‘Is brother Ghou going to embarrass himself, we should have never come here.’

After some minutes of silence in the restaurant, Ghou smiled and sat on his seat, “I’ll take the silence as an approval.”

“You junk....” Young master Wu Luau shouted in rage as he tried to lay an insult on the stranger who looked around similar age with him, but he mouth was speechless.

“Are you two still standing here… teach that thing some discipline.” He stared dagger at both of the guards who turned to Ghou, ready to attack, but a part of them shivered greatly in the mystery of Ghou’s strength and ability, or even his status since he had the balls to challenge the all known Wu Luau.

Upon seeing the offensive stance of the two guards, Ghou once again stood up from the chair with a calm face, even as though his heart pondered in fear especially since he was bare-handed. He suddenly realized the pit he dug for himself.

“Do you know who I am, immature fellow.” Wu Luau laughed with a devilish grin like he felt the tension from Ghou, “There is a reason why I am called the golden egg of my family, and I’ll show you that if you manage to defeat my guards.”

“I don’t think you know who I am either.” Ghou quickly replied as he clenched his fist in embarrassment. What was he now going to say after this?

“Go on, I’m listening.” Wu Luau answered like the arrogant maniac he was.

“I.. I’m the son of.. Of the late Fe Chan Ji and the wall guar…”

Ghou’s words was instantly interrupted with a outburst of laughter in the room upon hearing his poor remarks.

“What a disgrace to his lineage.”

The crowd began to curse at Ghou while some of them retired to seat on any vacant chair due to excessive laughter.

Shortly after the laugh died out with Ghou standing in the spotlight all eyes landed on him. However, Wu Luau and his guards looked serious throughout the shaming laughter.

“All you said was a bunch of rubbish, and the only thing I’m interested in is the part where you said you are the son of late Fe Chan Ji, right?”

Ghou only nodded like a submissive dog after some seconds as he was too ashamed to say a word. All he wanted to do was to just leave this place.

“Then prove it.” Immediately after Wu Luau completed his statement, the guard with the werewolf arms began to run towards him as sharp claws sprouted out of his fingers.

When Ghou realized that the man was only sit feet away, he activated the fire wall with a couple of quick hands techniques.

Upon the crowd seeing the move made by Ghou, they all decided to backway since fire was almost a weak but suicidal ability.

“You won’t hide your face from me.” The guard’s voice echoed in anger as he stopped moving when he was standing in front of the circle of flames. After watching the hot fire for some time, the guard ignored the scene and went ahead to pick a glass of water before drenching it on the flames that immediately died out into a thick gray smoke that clouded the area.

Ghou who saw this as an opportunity to escape turned to look at Xia who nodded as she understood what he meant. Without wasting another seconds, he began to run towards the door that revealed it presence with the light from the sun that tried to mix with the smoke.

After pushing through the crowd, Ghou was able to leave the restaurant alongside Xia. Without turning to look at the restaurant, Ghou and the little girl began to run through the streets like thieves.

Meanwhile in the Palace, Kiara sat on her majestic throne with Elbert standing beside her. In front of her stood the three wall guards, Cheng, Ying and Silas who worn their various uniforms. After some minutes of silence Kiara finally began to speak.

“Ghou won’t be joining the three of you for this mission since he’ll and busy from tomorrow.”

Kiara paused to catch her breath for some seconds before she continued, “The forest hunt will proceed immediately and I think you are aware of the necessary beast. You are to leave with the food cart and the guards when you’re ready.”

The three wall guards threw glances at each other and didn’t dare to parry her words or disagree.

“Yes your majesty, we’ll inform you before our departure.” Ying nodded after some seconds with a forced smile.

“Brother Ghou, how are you.” Xia blankly stared at Ghou who sat on the couch panting heavily. He couldn’t help but thank the heavens for his narrow escape in the restaurant, else he would had risked further embarrassment.

But even at that, he was deeply hurt with the harsh words from the people as the regarded him as a nobody even with his status as a wall guard of the fact of him being the son of his late father.

Xia immediately understood Ghou’s emotions and placed her arms over his shoulders like she was an adult, “Don’t get angry or sad for that dilemma, after all, fighting aren’t always what make you stand out.”

Ghou’s brows shot towards the ceiling after hearing the matured statement from Xia. A smile appeared on his face some seconds later as he stared at Xia with eyes full of wonders.

“Where is your limit little girl, you’re almost matured that I am.” He joked with uprising cheeks to Xia who got shy with his compliment.

“Haha. Don’t be sad alright.”

Alistar’s laughter was the next thing that resound in Ghou’s head after Xia left to take a bath.

“You’re a weakling brother, you couldn’t even budge that guard, and you claim you know something. Haha.”

Ghou’s face turned pale hearing the remark from Alistar who didn’t care the slightest about his emotions.

“You should know some skills though, since you don’t know how to use a common sword.” The pet added some seconds later.
