CHAPTER SIX: THE AMBUSH

JETT'S POV

I packed up and down my room trying to make sense of what had happened.

'I remember being stabbed and then...', I murmured to myself. I didn't notice what was staring at me each time I walked past mirror that hang to me. I caught a glimpse of red in the mirror. I knew I wore nothing red and coming to that realisation, my heart skipped as I jumped back using my arms as a shield for my face and raising my right leg ready to kick whatever it was. It was red and looked grim.

It had a devilish grin like the Neo Enigma but it was different. It's colour was crimson. Blood red. A crimson demon. It had like an eye protector like the ones on the knight armour. It had spikes on the shoulders and its hand continued into blades. It had a torn clothe round its waist that connected to the shadow at its feet.

It didn't have feet, they just connected with the bulk of shadows that hovered around its feet. Crimson shadows that I'm sure were solid and touchable. What stood out the most was the beast white flowing long hair. It flowed with the air like he was in the ocean. It was so confusing, he was visible and present but not touchable; he existed only in the mirror. He was a beast, looked tattered but gave if an air of majesty and charisma. He was indeed unlike the rest.

'Child, fear not', it proclaimed. ' I am not your enemy.'

'And why should I believe you, you're one of those disgusting beast aren't you?'

'I do not disagree with thy statement. But if I be one of them then thou art also one of them.'

I was ticked. How dare this fowl creature! Wait... Sometime went off in my head. What does he mean? 'Haaa?!'

'I am merely thine reflection. The central pathway to this soul which thou hast neglected for long. Purposely or not, that beeth not my concern but now I have finally awakened; little bird'

'Me... Him... Us... Little what?!!', he didn't make any sense. ' The fuck is this?! A prank? I bet it was Ravi or no... Nah it my mind I'm probably suffering some sorta trauma from all this little adventure I went on', I said as I scratched my head violently.

'Don't mock me; little bird. Do I look like the kind for prank?'.

Indeed you didn't.

'To put it simply for a simpleton of thou kind to comprehend. Thou art both human and beast.'

' Don't fuck with my asshole!!', I was really loosing it. 'Since when?!'.

'Since the time of thine conception. You belong neither to the humans not beasts. Thou art like a new breed. I, Timoria, represent that image of thy in the beast form and thee the human form. We are one and the same; little bird'.

'If that's true, Tim...Whatcha ma call it. If that's true then where have you been all this while?'

'Imbecile. I had been forcibly kept dormant. Made into nothing than an observer in a vessel that I share equal rights to.'

' So why - how did you awaken? And if we're the same then why are we separate?', I tried to catch the beast in his lies.

' Look, I know thy every though so I know what thou schemed', he said with a huge grin. ' We are separate because we were seal away from one another since the time of our birth, so we leaened to live independently. So at the moment we exist as two separate beings occupying one body. Two in one. A Divinity.'

I wouldn't lie, his stories sounded legit.

' I was awakened last night when you ran with you balls dangling between your legs. As you looked at death in the eyes; body freezing with fear and soul burning with rage, hair standing at attention, pupils shaking, lips quivering, limbs bleeding and mind breaking; ready to accept his warm embrace. Fortunately for us, a drop of saliva from the messenger of death made its way inside of you. That was my awakening point. The Awakening of the Prince of Persia.'

Prince of Persia? What even is that? Is he really not lying? No... No don't be decieved by this beast. Remember that they killed your friends.

' You hold unto resentment and attempt to suspend thy belief. I have no problem with thine resentment, rather I love it. My name means Vengeance after all... However, little bird; channel that resentment rightly. Don't waste it on sentiments but channel that to me and I'll give you strength, unimaginable strength to plunder all your enemies'.

I grinned, impetuously. Finally this man beast was speaking my language. This was the first thing he had mentioned that had made any solid sense to me.

'Fine. However first let's -'.

' There's no time for that. Someone is in danger. We need to hurry'

' How do you kn-'

Ravi banged on my door. 'Jett!! Jett!!!'

I opened and he fell in. ' You need to go help her!'

'Who?!'

'Gabby!! She went to play on her own near the woods'.

Shit!.

' Why didn't you tell the adults?', I knew that was a very dumb question to ask but still it had to be asked.

' I did but they all said she was only playing. Only you and I know what lies in that dark forest. You need to save her! Please!'

Oi. Don't go putting your expectations on me . I ain't no one's hero. ' I don't understand? Why didn't you just go and drag her out?'

His look turned down at his feet as if he was counting his toes, his open hands turned into a tight fist gripping his shirt tightly and brows furrowed. His shame was visible. He was scared. He, at that moment, reminded me of the great wimp Gryffin. I couldn't blame him, not all people were as insane as I was. I was literally talking to this semi imaginary beast through my mirror!

' Fine', I turned and looked in the mirror as I gave "myself" a nod. I now knew what he meant.

As I ran towards the forest entry, the cool evening breeze took care of perspiration. I mad sure not it run at full speed to conserve my strength.

'Why not run faster?' .

I jumped up. I was startled, I was the only around so where did that voice come from?

' Pitiful', I could hear the disappointment in his voice. It was Timoria.

'Shut up! Don't just start talking out of the blue like that'. I said looking up in an attempt to see if I could see the imaginary beast.

' You should run faster if you know you'd like to save that girl'.

' I'm trynna conserve my energy', I stated as I continued my sprint.

'I have an idea'.

I rolled my eyes, 'Lemme hear it'.

'Why not let me in control for a while to see my capabilities?'.

'Nice try; beast. I'm not gonna letcha go on rampage and kill everyone'.

'Do not lump me with those uncivilised otters. I have been fused to thee since birth; I can do perfectly fine without human meat'.

I rolled my eyes again. ' Fine... If I was to let you take control when will I expect to regain control?'

' We are one and the same, you have no greater right over this body than I do. However understanding the milieu we didst find ourselves in it's inevitable that I shall relinquish power to thee'.

All this weird English was racking my head. 'So when?!', I asked exasperated.

' On the Morrow'.

' Huh?! Speak normally for once!'

'Hah... Imbecilic race. I mean tomorrow'.

' Your insane if you think for a moment that I would agree to that'.

' Indeed... A time shall reach, soon enough when thou shalt plead for mu help and thou shall be rebuked and thy pleas fall on deafened ears'.

'' Ya sure, right?'. Sarcastically of course.

' Gabby!!', I called her as I waved at her. She was innocently playing her soccer alone. How that worked I didn't know but she was and she seemed to be at joy. Bouncing and kicking the ball around with a smile that went from ear to ear.

She ran towards me and hugged me. I felt this warn feeling I had been lacking for a while. Or maybe I always had but always wanted more. I was neglected what I had... Not anymore I was done with that. I'll live in the moment and cherish this moment and each and every moment. I felt like this was where I belonged, with this warm embrace that seemed to overpower the cold evening, give me peace and a smile. I was happy.

'Let me get my ball', she said pointing at it.

As she picked it up, I sensed it. That uneasy aura I sensed in the forest the first time. I knew it was coming... No it was here.

'Boy!', Timoria called out to me.

I lunged forward and pushed Gabby to side side. As she fell on the floor my right arm followed suit. I was dazed at first, I didn't understand what happened. My vision became blurry and my head started spinning. The air smelt like pain and agony. The cold burnt deep into the wound as blood gushed out. I was in severe pain, enough to die of shock but I didn't. I was even more terrified of lay ahead. As it emerged from the woods my arm hair stood up, sweat poured from my pores, my teeth began to shiver and time seemed to stop.

'No witnesses', it said at it looked at Gabby.

Fuck!..

We I did something and meditating so recovering and yeah I see some and I came to a conclusion that taking this break would be very dumb idea this brick was supposed to help us realize that we are bigger than our problems that we have bigger than whatever pride we have this brick will not help me because I cannot think straight I've tried thinking or telling myself that I can make it to one week before I see you again but I can't I thought this brick was a good idea because it to help us to focus yourself examine ourselves but I've tried all those things and it didn't work out so I'm using this medium to apologize since yelling for calling this break and thanks to Rosemary she made me realize that it's a very dumb idea I don't want problems between us too but somehow we must always fight over one thing or another. I love you so much way and that's why I don't know if you're going to accept me back and I'm not doing it out of any convenience I didn't because I realized I sat myself down and I asked myself I asked myself can I can I stay awake without talking to wei all in the name of break I said I was going to try it but I can't try it I don't even know how to try it. I can use them just to attach to you and I wanted us to hear our voices because I feel it will better way to communicate so that we can hear our tones you know.
