The officers’ movements were tense and decisive as they sprung to their feet, their eyes cold and merciless as they closed around Mayor Carney.

“Hey, hey, what’s going on? Where are you taking me to? I should know where I am being taken to, shouldn't I?” Mayor Carney’s voice was hitched with tension.

“Sir, we are transporting you to the prison unit immediately. Due to popular demand, a charge has been placed against you, and with the advent of the courts being on break, we cannot take you to court right now,” the other officer explained, his eyes fixed on the mayor.

“You will have to spend some time in jail - maybe a week or two before your first appearance in court.”
