CHAPTER 63

Mr. Lawrence stretched a hand towards the path of Brody’s gaze as if to block him from looking at Alan. He didn't want Brody to feel any sort of concern or affection for Alan.

“But what has he done, Dad?” Brody asked, his eyes filled with the gentle sanctuary of compassion.

“Nothing for you to worry about son, it's nothing,” Mr. Lawrence responded, trying to escort Brody away from the scene but Brody taped his feet to the ground still concerned about the horrible situation that he was witnessing.

“But if it's nothing, why were you hitting him that way? If he didn't do anything, why should he be punished?” Brody asked, his features arranged in a gentle facade of concern for Alan as his gaze darted back and forth.

“Son, come on let’s go,” Mr. Lawrence held Brody’s hands firmly trying to get him to leave the scene. He then turned his gaze to one of his hotel staff.
