Bookworm Meeting Incident

All club members gathered in the video media room at the library. Many young people from freshmen to seniors are invited to attend tomorrow's preparatory meeting. The presentation slides are already showing on the projector screen. This work they must do to their fullest. The result must be perfect. This event must attract people from colleges and outsiders to pay attention to this activity.

Simon and Darren enter the meeting room. They found that the other members were waiting for an opening meeting from their club president. Caroline is preparing a presentation. Her expression was serious and of course, she was wearing her favorite pair of eyeglasses. They thought that this meeting must have been intense for many hours.

On the other side of the room, Emily is talking to the members about the three people in charge of organizing the book booth. Her expression was as serious as Caroline's. Even though her position is only vice president. Her job is to keep order. The main duties are more in the hands of the president. But she wanted to make the event as perfect as possible.

"Alright, everyone. Listen to me. We're about to start the meeting. Please everyone listen and be quiet." Caroline spoke through the conference microphone in a serious tone.

An atmosphere of silence began. People stopped talking and found a free seat to listen to the meeting. Everyone's eyes were fixed on the president of their club as one. Simon and Darren took their seats at the back of the room. They will be observing at this point.

"Before we start the meeting. Let me explain the rules and restrictions for organizing this event." Emily said

Emily Ross is a woman with wavy long hazel hair. Simon met her during his freshman year at the book fair and she was the one who invited him to join the club. She is a person who doesn't talk much, but when she does, she will talk nonstop. The eye color on her round face, and small and slender chin, match her hair color. Her figure is average, not too tall or too short. Overall, she looks like an ordinary normal-skinned girl who is a studious girl, Which is true. She has loved reading since kindergarten and often wrote diaries about her life. It is no wonder that she did not hesitate to run for president of the book club. But Caroline managed to steal all the votes. Still, her motivation and passion to become a book enthusiast never faded.

"Hold on, Emily, don't forget that we need to talk about event details first." Caroline protested.

Emily seemed to be stunned by the humiliation, her eyes showed that she was not very happy about being interrupted, but fortunately, she controlled her emotions.

"Um, okay." She nodded reluctantly.

"Oh my god, is there going to be a war?" Darren was worried, he didn't like seeing these two arguing for hours, had seen it before.

"I hope it's not like that." Simon hoped.

In the meantime, something was wrong. There was an unusual tremor in Simon's backpack. He flinched because there was a book inside that he and his friend had unpacked from a box, absolutely could not let anyone know.

"Um...Em, Carol, I need to go to the bathroom for a moment." He spoke panicking, afraid he would be caught doing something suspicious.

"Hm...we're having a meeting now. And you are also the head of the book sales booth."

Caroline stood with her arms crossed, not very happy to hear him say that. Emily didn't comment, which meant she didn't disagree with him.

But the longer he was stalled, the more the book in his backpack shook violently as if telling him to open it.

"Just a moment, nature is calling me." This time he had to go out and began to hear it make a faint humming sound.

"but..." Before Caroline could finish speaking.

"I'll be right back!" After he finished speaking, Simon picked up the bag that was placed beside the chair, stood up, and ran out, pretending as if he wanted to go to the bathroom.

"Hey Simon, hold on!" Darren tried to stop his friend but no sooner had he done so, than that guy ran out of the meeting room. Leaving him sitting there scratching his head, confused about what happened.

"Huh..." Caroline sighed, holding her temple for the problem of having to attend the meeting.

"So, let me talk about the schedule first. While waiting for Simon to return." Emily doesn't waste time.

"Whatever..." Caroline pushed her glasses with her index finger, slightly irritated.

Simon ran straight to the bathroom. He hid in the toilet like a child who had just done something wrong. Then he quickly took out the book from his backpack. In addition to the book shaking, there was also a flickering light coming from inside the book.

"What the hell is this?!"

Before he could open it, the mysterious book flew up and floated back in front of him. Simon was so shocked that he fell backward into the toilet bowl. Luckily, the lid was closed or he would have fallen in, which was quite horrifying. The book slowly turned to the next page with some energy, like a magical.

The book opened to one page with the message: Gate of the Prime-Niverse was being opened, and less than ten seconds the message dissolved into a spiral of golden dust before changing faded to a new message: High-level threats are approaching.

"What...the..."

The book turned to another page, this time a long list of text. When he looked carefully, he saw that it was a list of some chosen people.

"Time Watcher of the Prime-Niverse There are members including..." He reads the text in the book. "Alex Moore Dawson, Josh Olsen Wilson, Ryan Steven Jones, and, Ivan Chavdar Bakalov...oh my..." He knew the names of all the people in there, Emily's friends, It is not wrong.

"Light Watcher of the Prime-Niverse There are members including, Simon Wills Smith..."

He panicked and broke out in a cold sweat when he saw his name in the book.

"Darren Diego Garcia..." The second surprise was the name of his friend.

"Sylvia Jayce Lopez, Julie Nova Harris, and Alyssa Sienna Carter...Who the hell is this guy?"

It seemed that none of the other three women on the list were familiar or recognizable.

"Life Watcher of the Prime-Niverse There are members including Mike Scott Miller, Peter Carl Carson, Kevin Colby Jackson, Alisa Lewis Martinez, and Lydia Isabella McNamara."

He was somewhat familiar with the names of these people, probably people from the Business Administration faculty that he used to sell business books to.

At the time when the book was showing the next group of names. Someone opened the door and came into the bathroom.

"Simon? Are you in there?" Daren called out to his friend.

Simon quickly regained his composure and stood up to answer. "Uh... yeah, I'm in the toilet!"

The floating book suddenly fell to the ground, as if it were just an ordinary book without any magic.

"What's that noise? Are you okay?" Daren asked, both curious and concerned.

"No No, I'm okay. I'm going out now."

When he was finished, he quickly bent down to put the book back into his backpack and pretended to flush the toilet, acting like he had just finished his business. He opened the bathroom door and saw Darren standing there with a confused expression on his face.

"Oh my god! You've been in the bathroom for so long! Carol was so annoyed that she yelled at me to come after you." Daren shrugged and shook his head as if this was not the first time.

"Sorry, man. It's like this... there's something that, umm... I don't know how to tell you."

"What?"

Simon crept up to his friend and opened his backpack to take out the book.

"When I first asked Carol to go to the bathroom, it wasn't that nature was calling me. But the book was shaking like an earthquake in my bag."

"Har-Har. Your joke doesn't work at all, my friend."

"I'm serious! When I hurriedly in the bathroom, this book floated up. And then it opened by itself. Without me touching it at all!"

"Har-Har. Try again."

"Damn it, God help me! I'm telling the truth, Darren!"

"Ah-ha."

"In that book, there's a list of me and you, and... and a bunch of other people I don't know or maybe know! It says we're going to be Watchers following the symbols in the book of some niverse...universe thing. I...I...I don't know!"

His face was serious and his tone was panicked but his friends still thought it was his joke.

"I know you're tired of listening to Carol complain for hours. But trust me, if you don't go back now, she'll complain until your ears are numb and you'll have to go to the hospital next to the campus. Hehe."

"Agh!" Simon, fed up with his friend not listening to him, tried to open the book, but it wouldn't open as if it was locked.

"What are you doing?" Darren frowned in confusion and grinned.

"Damn it! Why can't I open it?!" He tried to pry the book open until his face turned red, but no matter how hard he tried, it would open.

"Haha. Come on, Your jokes are really cool. But you have to go now. That book, please summarize it for me later. Hehe."

No matter how seriously he tried to explain it to his friend, it would never be convincing. What happened to him was too much of a fantasy in the real world. In the end, he bowed his head and nodded obediently to Darren.

"Alright...Let's go."

"It must be like this! I have two surprises for you. Hehe."

Daren walked his friend over his shoulder and led him back to the meeting room.

"What?"

"First thing, umm... I think you already know that. But second, I have to say you'll like it."

When they returned to the meeting room, the first thing they saw was Caroline waiting for them with a sullen face, hugging her arms. Emily shook her head, knowing that this meeting would end later than originally agreed, something they already knew would happen if the club president was upset. The remaining members looked at him the same way as the two young men's faces turned pale, swallowing loudly.

"I...um...am here. Sorry, I took so long in the bathroom. Haha." Simon tries to act to cover it up. But no one laughed.

"Oh my god! I feel the dread, my friend." Darren whispered, not feeling well.

"Sit down, Simon. If you don't stop disrupting the meeting, I'll have you stand alone at the booth!" Caroline's order is a decree.

"O-kay..." He and Darren returned to their seats. His demeanor now looks dejected.

"Alright, Before we start the REAL meeting. Our club has a new member. I forgot about that. So let's get to know them first."

Three women walked out and stood at the front of the room.

The first one is a girl with black ponytail hair. Her appearance is like a goth girl, It does not fit into this club's activities, in Simon's opinion in his mind. Her face was indifferent as if she didn't want to welcome anyone. Her silver sharpened eyes on diamond face shape were as quiescent as still water, looked so sharp.

The second woman looked no different from that woman. She is small like a high school teenage girl. Light brown short wavy hair on her round face shape looks cute. Simon seems to like her at first sight, but if he acts sensually and Caroline catches him, his punishment is double. So he could only watch her quietly.

The last girl looks different from the previous two. She looks friendly and mature at the same time. She has dark hazel long hair. The smile on her triangle face looked admirable. Those are her blue eyes too. Overall, these three white girls were no less beautiful. He thought that based on her tall and slender figure, she would be more suitable for a dance club or an athletic club. But that is not something he has to care to judge.

"My name is Sylvia Lopez. I'm a new member of the Bookworm Club. Nice to meet your guys." A goth girl introduces herself.

"Hello, My name is Julie Harris." A small girl introduces herself shortly with a little cute smile and a shrill voice like a child's.

"Hi, Names Alyssa Carter. Nice to meet you. I hope we get to know each other soon." A friendly girl introduces herself and waves hello with a cheerful smile.

"O-fuck..."

"Huh?" Darren is suspected.

The moment Simon heard their names, His brain had gone into overload. He didn't understand and there were too many questions in his head. The previous situation was too much of a coincidence for him to handle as if it was predetermined by fate. He couldn't tell anyone, and people would think he was crazy. The unfounded and unimaginative information made him dizzy.

"What the...fuck is this..."

As soon as he finished speaking, he fainted and fell miserably from his chair and his face dipped on the floor.

"Simon! Simon! What is wrong with you?!" Darren jumped up on a chair in shock and rushed to check on his friend.

The atmosphere in the meeting room was filled with chaos and panic. Everyone rushed to see what had happened to him. Even Caroline and Emily rushed to help carry him to the hospital room. The three girls, the new members of the club, could only sit there, confused, not knowing what to do about what had happened. It seemed that this meeting would be a flop.
