To The Far-Reaching Light and The Everlasting Darkness

They looked at each other with doubtful eyes in their heads. This mysterious book is no ordinary. They don't even know the where source, or who ordered this book. There was no address on the front of the box with the recipient's name, but how could it be that it was delivered here or in Darren's pickup truck. In the most ridiculous case, someone is pranking them. But surely no insane person would write such a thick book specifically for this event. They stared curiously at the book while it was still in Simon's hand.

The name of the author of this book is as bizarre as it is not from today's generation of people and they believed that this was not an ancient name. Not only that, The title after the author's name is also fantasy as if the writer was obsessed with the imaginary world. Curiosity mixed with surprise continued to pour into their minds non-stop.

Simon opened the first page of the book. It was a white page with a single sentence written all over it: To the far-reaching light and the everlasting darkness.

"What the hell is this?!" Darren knit one's brow.

"Maybe poem or hint." Simon guessed.

"What hint? What is about the far-reaching light and the everlasting darkness?"

"The sun and the moon?"

"Uhm...I'm blanking."

They let the doubts in that sentence hold. Simon opens the next page and finds the text: Chapter 1, the Origin of the Universe. He continued to turn the page. This page is filled with tons of text. Each line describes everything in detail.

In the center of the page are pictures were five strange symbols: The first symbol is a green hourglass. The second symbol is a yellow sun with splashing sunlight. The third symbol is a circle with black emptiness. The fourth symbol is a cyan heart-shaped with the inside resembling a blue beetle and the last symbol is a purple open-mouthed skull.

"What are these symbols?" Darren scratches his head with confusion.

"I don't know. Let me read what it is." Simon said.

"Alright."

"In the past, a long time ago. Celestial and Abyss fight among millions of stellar. The damage was caused by the Void's Path. It is said that that dimension is empty and devoid of light. Their battle could not be calculated how many had passed. It's long enough for everything in the universe to collapse. But then a creature was born, the Elder God. No one knows how divined creatures are like they were born. Some people say that they were created and incarnated by Celestial. But some people say that they came from another dimension, called the Void. There is not enough evidence to confirm who they are or where they originated." Simon read the text.

"I don't want to interrupt you. But I want to know more about what those symbols are?"

"Okay. Let me find it first." Simon scanned his eyes for explanations that belonged to those symbols. It didn't take him long to find him.

"Ah-ha! I found it!"

"Let's see..." Darren said.

"A craftsman named Brynjar has found a way to contain the power of the universe. After the Great War of the Universe. He has devoted his time to creating many things and doing much research. One of their studies is the Five Powers of the Universe. His elder scrolls tell about everything that is driven by five things: time, light, darkness, life, and death. They are built for balance. If any universe has too much or less some of one thing. That means that the universe is about to collapse soon."

"That means that these five symbols represent power, right? The green hourglass is time. The yellow sun is light. The black circle is darkness. A heart with blue insects is life. and the purple skull is death. oh my God!"

Simon opened the next page. "Ah-ha...Brynjar decided to create a ring of five powers. Each ring holds abilities and powers for its wearer. But it stuck that the ring he had made could not be used against lower beings in the universe. He decided to travel to the Middle-verse to meet the Elder God. He presented the five rings to Sunlorion, the supreme ruler of the Elder God. At first, the giant golden-haired handsome man didn't care about such a trivial matter. Because divine beings like them possessed the power of celestial from birth. But when a Dwarf said that these artifacts could determine every universe. The arrogant Elder God hurriedly accepted it. That was their big mistake."

"How?"

"As soon as the gods got those rings. They have created an army that uses those rings. By having descendants of Sunlorion's blood lead the army. Every soldier receives a ring and recites the oath to protect what they are wearing. It seems to be a good thing to delegate the great task of protecting the balancing forces of the universe. But the truth is that something worse is about to happen. The real main purpose is to unite all the universes into one. That means that everything in the various universe is being wiped out. They are about to create a universe where the Elder Gods are at the top of the circle of life."

"Why does it sound so creepy?"

Simon opened the next page. "But before everything ends where Elder God wins. The Watchers and Zodiac Warriors have joined to stop this war. They are a rebel group that wants to overthrow the mighty God. They were humble creatures that the gods had always despised. They exist in every universe and dimensions are connected. In comparison, they were several times more numerous than Elder God."

"Oh wow...it's such a fantasy!" Darren was excited by the stories his friends had read. He felt like he had returned to being a child and listened to his mother's story again.

"Uhmm...I think I've had enough of this for now. The writer who wrote this book probably had a deeper imagination than just the ordinary fantasy world. Perhaps I should take this book and study it. So that I can get some good ideas for writing my novels." Simon was exhausted from reading this book.

"Come on, dude. I want to hear you read on. I'm really into the story there." Darren tries to persuade him to continue reading.

"Would you like to take it and read it?" Simon closed the book and handed it to him.

"Uh... I probably don't have as much free time as you. You can read and tell me." Darren didn't want

to read this book all day. He chose to have his friends read it and summarize it for him.

"What the! Would you like me to read the whole book and summarize it for you?!"

"Hehe. I believe in your true bookworm skills."

"Uhmmm..."

While they were talking. A woman's voice came from outside the room. That voice they were all too familiar with.

"Simon! Darren! Are you guys in there?"

"Yikes! that's Caroline!" Darren was alarmed to hear her voice.

"Oh, Shit! Hurry up and put everything in the box right now!" Simon said.

They hurriedly put the books that had been brought out onto the table into boxes as quickly as they could. Darren hurriedly grabbed the red tape and sealed the cardboard box with trepidation. Then they put that box inside and used other boxes to cover it up. They're out of luck if the president of the book club finds out they've broken the rules. Without them noticing that he forgot to collect one more book. That is The Order of Universe.

"I forgot to put this in the box!" Simon said as he held up the book with a startled look on his face.

"Hide it quickly !" Darren replied in a panic as well.

"How? There's no time for hiding!"

"Uhh...keep it behind you. Don't let her see it!"

Simon quickly hid the book on his back as Darren had suggested.

"Uhm...Are you guys in there, right?" Caroline asked again.

"Yeah..." Simon shouted. "Hurry up, Darren!" He turned to his friend who was putting the box in place.

"Done!" Darren finished setting up the box.

"Guys?"

"Uhmm...Yes! we here!" Simon answers her.

Caroline opened the door and entered the room. She found that they were standing there waiting to meet her. They tried to hide their suspicious expressions as much as possible. Their sweat covered their faces. Anxiety about being rebuked by her caused them to gulp rapidly. The right hand behind Simon's back was gripping the hidden book tightly.

"What are you guys doing?" She asked.

Caroline Seong is a Korean-American girl. She was born and raised in America. Her face looks more Korean than American. She is a woman in good shape. black short bob hair and silver big eyes on a heart Asian face shape. She usually wears eyeglasses when she plays the role of the club president.

She is serious about her duties. Simon sometimes sees her as a boss than a leader. She became the president of the bookworm club not by luck, but shown the ability to be a good leader. The club members honored and respected her as a pioneer of the college literary circle. Especially Darren who sacrificed his oath, which Simon likes to tease is that it is a slave, to follow her every word because he liked her.

"uh... we..." Darren faltered.

"We...We just came to check the order of the box of books that we brought." Simon spoke instead.

"So why are you guys all looking like seen a ghost? Is there something wrong?" Caroline asked as if she was interrogating them. This caused Simon and Darren to become even more stressed than before.

"It's hot...in here. But...we're leaving now." Darren tried to normalize his tone. He's a person who, when faced with critical events, tends to panic to the point of being helpless.

"Hmm...are you sick, Darren?"

"No...I'm fine, Carol. As I said, it's hot in here and makes me uncomfortable."

"How about you, Simon? Are you okay? Your face looks unusually pale." She still didn't stop asking.

"God dammit! Why hasn't she stopped asking yet?!" He spoke in his mind. "Uh... I'm just like Darren. It's hot in here." He didn't know what excuse to look for. So he answered her like that.

"I think it's abnormal. Or you guys..."

"No! No! It's not like that, Carol!"

"Yes! Uhm...No! I mean, we're not what you thought!" They tried to deny it before she thought far beyond.

"Haha. I'm just joking. If there's nothing else, then let's go. We still have a meeting waiting for us." She said before walking out of the room. Darren and Simon were relieved that they were almost caught suspicious.

"Phew...Holy shit! It's almost..." Darren said with a sigh.

"Yeah...I'm almost as bad too." Simon was relieved by another.

"Is that book still there?" Darren asked.

Simon shows the book to him. "Yep..."

"Great! Don't forget to sum it up for me. hehe" Finished speaking, Darren walked out of the room with a smile.

"W-What the heck?!"

Simon decided to keep the book in his backpack, hoping that this rule-breaking move wouldn't catch Caroline's eye.
