Chapter 5: Luxuria Hotel

"Dad, it's you." Ethan muttered in shock with his mouth widely opened.

When he was just 10, his mom died. After that, his dad left the house and never returned. Even though it had been a long time, he still remembers his face clearly.

The man who had entered nodded with a smile.

"It's me, son. Dad is here for you." He replied

The man was William Nightangle, Ethan's dad.

Ethan's initial shock turned into a mix of anger and hatred as he looked at his father. The memories of his childhood came flooding back, and he couldn't help but feel betrayed and abandoned.

"Why are you here?" he asked, his voice laced with anger.

"I made them bring you here, Ethan." William walked towards him, trying to touch him.

Ethan stepped back, dodging his touch. He was shocked to hear his dad say he made the people bring him. He didn't understand how he was able to send such powerful-looking men.

Seeing the angry look, his father's smile faded, replaced by a look of sadness and regret. "I know I left you to suffer when you needed me the most, son. And for that, I am truly sorry."

Ethan scoffed. "Sorry doesn't fix anything. You left me to suffer while you went off and lived your life. And now you just show up like nothing happened?"

"But son I…"

He only said a few words before Ethan cut him off.

"Enough! I don't want to hear any other words from you; tell me why I'm here and who are these scary men." He asked in a loud voice.

"They're my men, son." He answered shortly, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Ethan frowned in confusion. "Your men? How? What do you even do for a living?"

William simply smiled and signaled for the men to leave the room. As they exited, he sat beside Ethan on the sofa chair. But when he tried to put a hand on his shoulder, Ethan shifted away from him.

"What do you want, dad?" Ethan asked, his voice tinged with both anger and hurt. "Why are you here? After all these years, why are you suddenly showing up with armed men at a 7-star hotel?"

William took a deep breath before replying, "Son, there are a lot of things I have to tell you about. But before I do that, I need you to understand that I did what I did for a reason.

Ethan chuckled lightly and said,

"What valid reasons can you give? Do you know how I suffered to take care of myself? I've worked as a cleaner and done all kinds of dirty jobs for years just to cater for myself; did you ever think you had a son somewhere?" Ethan's voice was still cold.

William sighed; he could feel the pain in Ethan's words.

"Son, I know I made a lot of mistakes, but it was all for your own good. Instead of having a good life at a younger age and suffering at an older age, it was better to be the other way around, so I made such a decision. He said

Ethan sneered, not believing what he was saying. "It's been fourteen years now, and you're saying you did this so I could have a better life. Where's the better life, dad?" He asked

Williams smiled and continued, "Son, this hotel belongs to me, and not just this hotel. I own a lot of big businesses in Ashville."

"Gasp!"

The words hit Ethan as his eyes widened in shock, trying to process what he had heard. There were rumours that the only 7 star hotel in Ashville belonged to a big businessman who's even said to be a billionaire, but no one actually knows his real identity, so hearing his dad say he owned it, he was shocked.

"You... you own this hotel?" Ethan stammered, still trying to come to terms with the revelation.

Williams nodded with a small smile and said, "Yes, Ethan. I own this hotel and many other successful businesses in Ashville. I have worked hard for this, and I want you to know that everything I did, I did for you."

Ethan struggled to make sense of it all. He was shocked to the core; he wanted to ask questions and demand answers, but the words wouldn't come out. It was as if his throat had closed up and he couldn't speak.

"You… you aren't lying to me, right?" He managed to ask

"No, I'm not lying; I'm the owner of this hotel. I built it just for you and was waiting for the right time, which is today." He replied

His body shivered lightly with shock mixed with happiness. His dad was actually the billionaire who owned the biggest hotel in Ashville; moreover, he said it was built for him, which meant he was no longer going to be poor.

"You built this for me?" He asked

William nodded with a smile and replied,

"That's right, Ethan; everything I've worked hard to build is yours. I've been working hard day and night for the past fourteen years in the United States just to make all this wealth. I just returned today to meet you, and I'll be leaving tonight too. He explained. "You're going to be the one to run everything."

Ethan stared at his dad, unable to fully process what he was saying. Take care of all the business? Him? The same Ethan who had been struggling to make ends meet?

He had always thought his dad had run away, leaving him to struggle, but it seems he went to make wealth just for him.

He shook his head, trying to clear up the confusion. "Wait, what? You want me to take care of the business? Dad, I don't know anything about running a business." He spoke, his voice laced with disbelief.

"That shouldn't be a problem; you'll learn as time goes on, and you'll have someone to help you when you need help." William replied. After that, he took out his phone and quickly typed a message.

Ethan watched as he sent the message, wondering who it was for. Just then, the door opened, and a lady walked in. She was tall and slender, with long black hair that cascaded down her back. Her face was sharp, with high cheekbones and piercing green eyes. She wore a black pencil skirt that hugged her curves and a white blouse that accentuated her slender figure.

"She's really beautiful." Ethan muttered

"Ethan, meet Victoria," William said, gesturing toward the lady. "She's been running the company for me while I've been away."

After that, he turned to Victoria too and said,

"Victoria, he's my son Ethan."

Victoria smiled at Ethan, extending her hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Master Ethan," she said in a smooth, melodic voice.

Ethan stood up and shook her hand, still feeling a bit bewildered. He couldn't believe that all of this was happening to him.

"Dad, you said she runs your company; which company is that?" He asked
