THE BALCONY

The minutes, after Alexander changed into the hotel robe and kept his clothes meant for the next day, went by really fast.

Just as was promised by the person he talked to when he called the room service line, his room door was knocked on.

“Room service!” The person on the other side of the door said and then waited for a response.

“Gimme a moment, I’ll be right there” Alexander replied then got up from the bed he had been sitting on and watching television.

He fetched the television remote from his robe’s pocket and lowered the volume until it had gotten to a level where the sound of what was being shown wouldn’t interfere with his soon-to-be-had interaction with the person outside his room.

He threw the remote on the bed, went to the table to grab the room’s keycard, and then went to unlock the door for the room service waiter who came to deliver his food.
