Chapter 6: Company

Morning came peacefully the loud beeping of the alarm clock woke me up immediately. I slowly open my eyes and prepared myself for what might happen.

Are they going to splash cold water on me again? Kisara might use her flames to wake me up.

I rubbed my eyes and decide to sit up, but I can’t. Heaviness occupied my top. Turning my pupils downward could see a huge hill covered by a blanket.

I took the blanket and take a peek. Kisara is currently hugging my body tightly. Smiling and her chest rubbing on my body. I won’t deny that Kisara is very cute when asleep. Staring too much makes my heart race and my cheeks flustered.

So this is what the breast feels like… Hers is not that big but not that small. What am I saying?

As a man of composure, I should ignore this fact and not be tempted by lust.

Act normally so that I won’t appear creepy or weird to her. Stay cool and manly.

She starts moving.

“God… Somebody, please stop the clock from beeping…” She opens her eyes and looks directly into my eyes. “… Good morning, did I bother you last night? Yawn~”

Kisara sat up took the alarm clock and press the button to stop.

 We share stares at each other. Brief but at the same time long.

“What?”

“Nothing…”

“Last night is especially cold. Your body temperature is quite hot so I hug you…”

“I understand.”

“I bet you feel so happy last night… Despite being asleep, your little mushroom stands up hard and stiff with my embrace.”

Kisara said casually.

Hearing her my body is completely petrified. My face turned red in embarrassment. Realized something more embarrassing.

How can I make a comeback with her? She is totally not a normal girl. A girl will blush or will react bashful when they noticed something like this.

Kisara is a different breed of a human girl. Normal girl logic doesn’t apply to her.

She crawls to wake up the sleeping Charlotte with two slaps n her face.

“Ouch! Kisara so mean~”

“Wake up Charlotte… Time to work.”

If Kisara woke up before me. I know what’s her method.

The two swiftly eat breakfast and change into their uniforms. For, I was given a white t-shirt, black pants, and shoes. It fit perfectly on me. Plain and simple I like this style.

“Where did this come from? I know for sure that no boy is living here.”

“There is before…”

Kisara replied and go straight to the door.

“A boy is living here before? Did you know it Charlotte?”

“Yup, it's her ex-boyfriend…”

“Don’t tell unnecessary stuff to our slave. All he should do is clean and support us. That’s all he needs to know.”

She said with a tone of irritation.

Charlotte pulled my ears near her tiny lips and whispered:

“Kisara doesn’t like talking about her ex-boyfriend. Usually, she will snap out in anger, but since you’re new. She’ll let this slide.”

“I understand.”

She has an ex-boyfriend.

Kisara already has a romantic relationship in her past. Well, she is very attractive and cute. There is no need to wonder.

There are things that we don’t want someone to know. Things that should not be known by others, especially by someone similar to a stranger like myself. I don’t have any interest in her previous relationships.

There is no reason to worry about me accidentally asking her.

We followed Kisara’s lead back to the company. Having a better view of the company from the outside. It was a normal brown-colored four-story building. Like a tall box.

Going inside, a young man who seems to be the same age as I approached me.

“So this is the man who came from paradise… I’m here to challenge to in duel with me. Let me test you’re strong.”

“Just ignore him he has an eighth-grader syndrome. He thinks he is a legendary sword hero.”

Kisara commented.

“I’m not pretending to be a hero… I’m a real legendary sword hero and my quest revolved around defeating the king of demons. I would become the new hope that will destroy the demon kind and bring everyone to the light side.”

“I apologize, but as our slave, everything his going to do is under our command. You go away and play with kids outside.”

“What are you saying?! You look more like a kid than me. From 6th elementary, you never grow an inch. Go back in elementary school and no one could tell you’re a grown-up.”

“Want me to burn you up with your childish mind?"

Kisara took her scythe and flames started covering the blade.

"What me to cut your child-like body?"

While glaring at each other made the gravity a bit heavier.

“Good morning Red.”

From the door, Princess arrived. Following her from the back was the giant teddy bear who was said to be not speaking.

The embarrassing memory I have earlier, melted away with her presence.

Charlotte pinches my cheeks and drags me.

“What’s wrong with you?”

“No looking lewdly to other girls.”

I’m not looking at Princess lewdly.

The tension increase between Luke and Kisara. Luke drew his sword but there is no blade on it. Then both made a step forward going to attack each other.

“That’s enough… So early in the morning you two are making a fuss in my company!! You two got the guts to defy my rules… Rule number 4: No fighting inside my company! Repeat it!”

Kisara and Luke stand up straight with tears gushing out in their eyes.

“Good…” He turned his pupils on me. “Morning, did you like about my present as a recruit?”

This bastard. This man looks at me like a criminal. The things he said to me before I can’t just forget about it.

“Someone is not grateful… Well, I can’t change anyone's heart immediately. Before giving you an official ID. Red you must enter the exterminator exam first. It's just a drill where you will save one person from an abandoned building. If you pass the test I’ll fully take you into my company and also I might say something related about way going up to paradise.”

He said.

“Really?!”

“Yeah, I won’t break my promise… The exterminator exam is held every Friday outside the shelter. You can ask the driver about the location. For now, Red should learn more about fighting demon kind with Kisara and the others.”

I clenched my fist and closed my eyes. I felt like I made a significant first step in going back.

Lars then leaves going up using the staircase.

“Duel with me and learn my heroic techniques.”

Luke continues taking without no one paying attention to him.

“Don’t pressure yourself. The exterminator exam is quite easy. His failing rate was below 2%. You’ll definitely pass the exam.”

Princess once again blessed me with her smile. This is a sign of good luck from heaven.

“Princess is correct, it's very easy. They made it very easy because humanity needs lots of exterminators… Stop, peeling Princess clothes in your imagination and start moving!”

Kisara manifested the chain and drag me away from my Princess.

“Good luck Red.”

Princess waves her hand.

Kisara and Charlotte tour me around the Company building. Showed me each facility and introduced me as New recruit trainee babysitter janitor slave member of the company.

Everyone is about to burst into laughter when they heard that. I hated it.

“Does our company has a logo?”

“Yes, this on my chest.”

Charlotte indicated the logo badge.

“That’s that company name. Do you have anything to ask?”

“Nothing anymore. Everything is quite simple and easy to understand. Medical officers, Exterminators, Engineers, and we even have scientists with us.”

“You’re not meeting all of them yet… Others are in their mission. Especially the powerful exterminators. They are stepping into the netherworld already.”

Faint gloom in Kisara’s last sentence. Without telling us, we know what she’s feeling. Her demeanor changes the same with her worried expression.

What could be troubling her?

“Lastly this is the cafeteria… We mostly sit down here when we have nothing to do.”

“Hello, Kisara… This guy must be the new recruit.”

A girl with glasses approached us with a friendly smile.

“Good morning, my name is Red.”

I introduce myself and offer and handshake.

“I’m Touka… I'm the information center and receptionist. If you have further questions. I'll do my best to answer you."

"Thanks..."

She walked closer to me. Closer and closer it made my body stiff. Her eyes were so close one move forward I could kiss her.

“I’m sorry for being weak looking.”

I sarcastically responded.

“Kisara your pet can talk back… I wish I could find a pet like him.”

“Don’t worry you’ll find someone suited for you in the future.”

Yeah, and I can also stand up and talk like a normal human. What am I expecting? She seems to be a good friend of Kisara. Birds with the same feather flocks together they say. This Touka must have an odd personality like my two masters.

“I’m impressed, how did you survive the fall?”

“That also bothers me,” Charlotte said.

Thinking back before I fall. While my body was enveloped by the falling sensation. I saw this bright light flashing before me. My consciousness faded and I found myself already laying down on the mountain of trash. My body isn’t hurting at all.

“I have no idea.”

“I see… I see… How useless… I thought I could decipher some information about you.”

With low energy she said.

Some people do say rude things. She doesn’t intend to harm this is just her personality. Even if she doesn’t ask forgiveness I better forgive her and accept who she is just like how to accept these two demonic creatures in my life.

She handed a paper to Kisara.

“Here… This is your job for today. An extermination work outside the shelter. This case is unique.”

“Are we going to fight strong demon kind?”

“It's a humanoid demon kind.”

After taking the mission, we go-ahead to the location. The armored truck is been occupied and we have no choice but to go outside the shelter on foot.

A huge bag pack taller than me was placed on my back. Meanwhile, the other two didn’t even bother taking something with them. They said something like ‘We’re girls are you going to let us bring heavy stuff?’ ‘Don’t worry, it’s training for you to gain lots of muscles.’

This is my first time seeing the shelter from the outside. The shelter resembles a giant igloo with four gates in each direction (north, south, east, and west.) There is a huge pipeline around that caught my curiosity.

“What is this pipeline means?”

All structures seem to have one including the company.

“That is where the oxygen, water, and electricity travel.”

“I understand… Oxygen? Oxygen travel here.”

“Yeah, or else we’re unable to breathe.”

But I can’t breathe freely.

“That’s because you’re outside. The oxygen here is extremely thin. I’m impressed you could breathe normally here. There are mountains with forests surrounding nearby providing this small oxygen in the air. Air is already polluted because of the garbage the people from paradise tossing down to our land. Not just the air, land, and water already dirty. Humans here created plants where we could gather oxygen(Green shelter.). That oxygen is been distributed in the pipelines.”

Charlotte explained.

I felt a little guilty.

There is time I toss out the garbage to this place without thinking consequences. People from the edge also did the same thing. We never thought someone living here is suffering because of us.

I can’t blame them for glaring at me. Earlier, when I’m being toured around the company facilities many people look at me like they want to kill me.

Kisara pinched my cheeks and drag me.

“Stop being curious and let's just continue walking.”

“Y-Yes… Ma’am.”
