Chapter five

SHOW OFF

Rosetta's words came at me like a rushing wave and I knew I had to show her how serious I was about taking revenge on Jonas. I looked at my account balance and saw I was still buoyant to get myself a luxurious car. " Oh yes! That was what I was going to do."

I looked at the school calendar I had plastered over my wall and saw the day was Prom Day for the university. A sinister smile played on my lips.

I left the campus and hurried like a little rabbit towards the nearest high-end car dealership. The gleaming showroom beckoned, and with determination, I stepped in, ready to make a statement with my new wheels.

As the sales representative greeted me, I scanned the showroom, eyes fixated on a sleek, midnight-blue sports car. Rosetta's doubt fueled my determination, and I declared, "I'll take that one." With the paperwork signed, keys in hand, I revved the engine, ready to roar into a new chapter of my life. I took my new bluebettle car for a spin around the city and drove to the salon for a nice haircut.

Fresh from the exhilarating ride in my new midnight-blue sports car, I arrived at the salon with a confident stride. The stylist, sensing my bold energy, crafted a haircut that mirrored my newfound determination. As I gazed into the mirror, the reflection revealed not just a changed hairstyle but a transformed spirit ready to conquer the challenges ahead.

The atmosphere was lit as many cars were parked outside the university while elegant men and women trooped into the school auditorium for the first prom night at Stanford University. Jonas looked around trying to catch a glimpse of me. " I can see the loser isn't around yet," he said sitting down on his black Range Rover sports car

Eddy laughed " I guess he is too scared to face us. Who do you think would be his prom tonight?"

Tiffany laughed " None, everyone knows who Frederick is. He is a loser and nothing more."

The night was chilly I had parked my car waiting to catch a glimpse of Rosetta. I had planned to make my entering to be a grand one.

Rosetta got down from a Ferrari spider. She was wearing a stunning, floor-length gown that shimmered under the dim lights of the prom venue. As she gracefully entered, heads turned, and whispers followed. I seized the moment, revving the engine of my midnight-blue sports car, catching Rosetta's attention. With a confident smile, I stepped out, making an entrance that echoed my determination.

Jonas removed his pair of glasses and was shocked. " Isn't that Frederick? " The nerd?"

" is he the one?" " Woah! Money makes a man."

" Look how handsome he is."

" Look at his car also, I don't know if he could afford a car now. I guess he had been hiding the fact that he was rich. "

Rosetta stood still as she saw me walk out of my sports car.

"holy shit! Isn't that a Bugatti chiffon?"

Damon shouted looking at Jonas

" you will keep your mouth shut this instance or I will have to help you do that."

Jonas was jealous and I was feeling good myself. I walked towards Rosetta and smiled " I believe I just showed you how ready and determined I am with my revenge. I am going I help me?"

As we walked together into the ballroom, the crowd whispered and was mesmerized by my new look. I wasn't bothered as my only opponent was Jonas that night.

Rosetta, amazed, whispered, "Frederick, is that your car?"

I grinned, "Oh yes, it's time to show them what I'm made of."

As we strolled into the ballroom, the crowd hushed. Jonas muttered, "How did he afford all this?"

Eddy, astonished, added, "I never knew he had it in him."

Davina smirked, "Looks like we underestimated Frederick."

I leaned towards Rosetta, "Ready to make them regret ever doubting me?"

She nodded, impressed, "You certainly know how to make an entrance."

Jonas, still in disbelief, mumbled, "This changes everything."

Damon chimed in, "And to think we called him a loser."

I whispered to Rosetta, " Wanna help me or not?" I chimed in again

" Can you afford me?"

" how much?" I asked looking at Rosetta as she brought out a cigarette

The ballroom spoke in a hushed whisper as they all were surprised to see me talking with Rosetta. " Frederick nailed it. Who could have believed he had the balls to approach Rosetta." Stefan one of the cool kids remarked

" $800,000"

I looked at Rosetta and smiled " Looks like we have a deal."

I stylishly checked my phone and looked at the message stating my last account balance. " Whoo!."

That was my last cash but I was willing to spend it on Rosetta even if it meant going broke.

" do you want it right now?"

Rosetta puffed her cigarettes " Why don't you dance with me?" she said slowly walking towards the dance floor. My gaze met with hers " I don't know how to waltz"

She smiled " Follow my lead."

Rosetta said slowly grabbing my hands " I can't believe you are ready to spend so much to make Tiffany regret she left. Why didn't she just show her you could afford her anyway." she said as we got to the dance floor

I simply looked away not minding Rosetta. Seeing that I didn't reply, Rosetta kept saying "You didn't look this wealthy at school. Did you deliberately hide your identity as a rich man?"

"I was also surprised that I had this much money, that I could buy a new fancy car just to prove my point to a contract girlfriend."

Rosetta laughed. "I feel privileged, but why do I feel like my standards are sliding freely just to announce to everyone that we're dating."

"What?"

I looked at Rosetta " What changed, we were having a nice time and I am ready to pay you your money. Do I need to send it to your account to show you how serious I am?
