CHAPTER 8

Joy’s Point of View

I woke up early because of the noise I heard. I thoroughly opened my eyes and toured my eyes inside of our room.

“Hey girl, get up! We will leave later!” Britney said while she’s applying her makeup on her face. I sit first to my bed and meditated.

“You looked like sleepy” Laine spoke while fixing her stuff.

“I slept late last night that’s why” I answered. I stood up and get my backpack from the side table and bring out my clothes. After getting what will I be needed, I left the room and immediately went to the comfort room to take a bath.

Majuro City

We are currently here in the lobby of the ship. It feels like we’re a tourist in this place and we’re going to have a vacation.

“Arrgh! I love this place!” Minmin praised as he saw various trees on the island.

We successfully arrived in Majuro City. Majuro is the capital and largest city of the Marshall Islands. It is also a large coral atoll of 64 islands in the Pacific Ocean. It forms a legislative district of the Ratak (Sunrise) Chain of the Marshall Islands. The atoll has a land area of 9.7 square kilometers (3.7 sq mi) and encloses a lagoon of 295 square kilometers or 114 sq mi. As with other atolls in the Marshall Islands, Majuro consists of narrow landmasses. It has a tropical trade wind climate, with an average temperature of 27 °C (81 °F).

It’s now sunny here. The temperature is not that hot and cold. The Philippines is hotter than here.

“See you later, guys!” Captain Axle said and they ride a truck where the parcels were placed. They need to deliver it to the couriers.

“Take care, Captain!” Britney goodbye. We got off the ship and started walking to a secluded place. 

“Shall we start the plan?” Jun asked us. Everyone smiled and we’re excited about this plan. I know Jun prepared his plan for so long. Technically, he’s the brain of this group.

We bring out the device he borrowed from his friend to start hacking. He already did it last night where we are together and he showed me how he’ll hack his dad’s company server.

“One-click and everything will be going crazy,” He said and grinned. He ticked the enter button and the hacking method started.

“Let’s see how the employees will react” He snapped to a camera icon and a couple of CCTV cameras revealed on the screen of the device.

Everyone in the company is now panicking even the Senior IT Employees. This hacking method is too tough to break. He also took away the files of the company that will serve as evidence of their dishonor. 

We plan to take away their money and still exposed their wrongdoings so every head on the company who’s responsible for it will get into the jail.

Jun’s Point of View

The workers inside the company are now uproarious and going crazy. This is the perfect timing to proceed with our next plan which is the blackmailing.

I have a number of their bosses and I encode it to my laptop. After encoding the number, I turned on the voice filter that will cover my voice.

“Hello? Who’s this?” An angry man answered the call. I grinned as I heard his voice.

“I heard your company is having trouble with the system? Is still doing good?”

I heard his deep sighed. “Who are you?” He asked.

“Well, you don’t know me of course. But for me? I know you even your disgrace” I responded.

“I don’t have any time for pranks---” He did not finish what he was supposed to say because I cut him.

“Okay let’s see if you don’t have any time for pranks” I click a button to my laptop. After clicking the button, I returned to the tab where the monitor cameras are located.

The people inside of the company became shocked as they saw the photo I showed.

“What’s happening?” Asked the guy from the other line. I heard a door opened and I can finally see him on the camera.

He saw his various photos where he’s having sex with other women, abusing his wife, and maltreating his employees.

“Take them down!” He screamed to their programmer but he couldn’t do anything.

“Are you having fun?” I asked.

“What do you want?” He asked that makes us smirked.

“Well, it’s simple. I want your money. All of your money” I replied.

“What if I didn’t give it to you?” He asked.

“Then you will see your face on TV and maybe spend the rest of your life in prison”

“Where will I send the money?” He asked again.

“Majuro Port, I need it asap. Oh, by the way, don’t bother to call the police and deploy them because we’re not terrorists. We are different than what you think. Let’s call this game hide and seek. Just one click can ruin your life.” I said.

“Lastly, we gathered all of your files and we can leak them whenever we want. You only have two hours of preparing and send it immediately” I added. He’s about to talk but I ended the call.

“Woah, that’s nerve cracking!” Joy reacted.

“I thought I am in a film” Britney interfered.

“So, what’s the other plan? what if they don’t follow what you have said?” Simon questioned.

“We will force them. We’re going to upload the files gradually in public so they will insist on them to send the money. I know him, he doesn’t want to ruin his image” I answered.

“So, let’s wait and be patient as of the moment,” Charlie said and everyone nodded.

2 Hours Later...

“I think they won’t send the money,” Minmin said hopelessly.

“Then let’s leak the other one” I snapped the enter button and the file was uploaded. My posts got a bunch of comments, reactions, and shares. Even the news company and other journalists make an article about their company.

“What’s left?” Kaye asked.

“The file about their corruption with his politician brother,” I said determinably. A few moments later, a guy came holding a bag full of money. I called their boss again to ask if this is their messenger.

“My assistant is on his way.” He said.

“Just tell him to put the bag in the middle of the ground and leave fast,” I answered.

“Okay” I dropped the call and we observed the man who’s carrying the bag. He put it down and immediately leave.

“Let’s go. Let’s get it!” Kyle said.

“No. We shall wait for a while.” I know he has someone with him. A while later, some people are coming to the port.

“Hey, people are coming!!!” Simon said in hurry.

“Don’t worry, they won’t get it.” A few minutes later, we saw the assistant again with his colleagues. I expected that.

We simply went to the middle where the bag is located. Our group was divided into three. Kyle, Simon, and Charlie carry the real bag while Minmin, Kyle, and I carry the fake one. Britney, Joy, and Laine are going to muddle the boys. Since there are people who are walking in the port, they won’t notice that we already got the money.

“Let’s go!” Charlie said and they took the real bag and instantly left. To make the helpers confused, we acted as we’re holding the real one.

We started walking and I make an eye to eye contact with the assistant. Gladly, I caught their attention and followed us quickly.

“Hey, I would like to ask where is the comfort room?” I heard Britney started muddling the assistants that make me grinned.

“We’re a tourist here and we don’t know the location” Joy said.

“Hey, do you speak or understand English?” Laine interfered but the assistants didn’t notice them and continue watching us.

“Get out of my way!” the assistant shouted and I can saw them on my peripheral vision. They’re running.

“Raise your hand!” he yelled. Finally, good timing... I turn around at him and acted like a scared man that didn’t do anything wrong.

“Why?” Kaye acted and started crying. She’s a good actress though.

“Let me check your bag!” The assistant shouted. Woah, he’s brave...

“Why? Is there any inspection here?” I asked and the assistant thinks deeply.

“B-because there is a tourist who carries an explosive weapon” He lied. Tsk, don’t try to lie at me.

“Okay!” Minmin handed them the bag and they opened it. As soon as they saw it, they’re eyes widened.

“Oh, I’m sorry for the inconvenience,” He said.

“You may go now” He added and started walking away from us. Minmin and I smirked and Kaye grinned. What a fool.

We escape gradually. Britney’s team followed us and after a while, we successfully did our mission!

8 PM | Restaurant

We’re here in a restaurant and having dinner as promised. We divided the money we collected earlier.

50% is for the boat that we will use to sail. The other half was divided into 9 so everyone has their allowance while we’re staying in Colombia.

“Did you have fun, everyone?” I asked them and they shrieked.

“Thanks for your cooperation. Without you guys, we won’t do this successfully” I started the conversation. Without them, my long plan won’t be actualized.

“No, we’re thankful to you because you serve as the mind of this group. Little did I know, you can do various serious crimes” Kaye said. I smiled because of what she has said.

“I always doubt you, your capabilities but today I realized, I was wrong. I should trust you since the beginning of this trip and I would like to apologize for my attitude” My smile widened even more.

“No worries. That’s a true friendship” I replied.

“This is our last stop so store some foods and other essential needs, okay?” Charlie said.

“By the way, what will happen to the company?” Minmin asked.

“They won’t do any move as of the moment since they will face their consequences first. They need to fix their image first before doing their revenge. Of course, if they will make it, we’re not here anymore.” I said confidently.

“Woah, you’re intelligent” Britney praised me which makes me laugh.

“No. I’m just gumptious.” And I humbly smiled.

“Let’s have a toss everyone!” Kyle raised his glass of wine and we had a tossed. We had fun on our dinner and take note, it’s their first treat on me!

After eating, we just went to the supermarket nearby to stock up food and other necessities. Our travel depends on the speed of the ship. It may take up to 60 days if the Captain decided to lower the speed of it. 

Everyone seems happy about buying what they want. For the first time, we don’t need to worry when buying since we’ve collected a lot of money for this trip even we didn’t reach the El Dorado yet.

After shopping, we returned to the ship.

“Are you ready guys for the long journey?” Captain Axle asked.

“Aye, Aye, Captain!” Britney replied.

“How long does this trip will take?” Laine asked.

“Approximately up to 20 days” the captain answered that make everyone shocked.

“Really?” Joy questioned unbelievably.

“Yes, but since we’re carrying a lot of parcels, we need to reach Colombia within 7-8 days. The other crews will use the super speed of the ship so we can’t get there as soon as possible” He replied and everyone sighed deeply.

“Let’s start this journey!!!” Captain Axle screamed and everyone became energetic.
