Stylx watched Nephla as she slept soundly beside him, he smiled as he gave her a kiss on her forehead. He could remember their first mistake in those days when the starlights were chased out of Onyx, their bout in the training camp of the starlights as they were building an army. He could still remember vividly how he made Nephla tap out when he locked her arms in his legs and even the sound of her arm breaking was still loud in his eyes. He pulled her close and cuddled her tightly, Nephla made low sounds as she awoke gently, staring into the eyes of her beloved, she noticed that his eyes were getting watery. "What's wrong my king?" She asked as she tried to wipe off some of the drops that were now crawling down his cheeks. "Please forgive me for hurting you badly in the past" Stylx said as he held her tighter, with his eyes firmly shut. Nephla smiled, sat up and kissed his shut eyes gentle which made them open gently. "It's alright my love, all are now in the past, if the story had no rough and bitter beginnings, the whole telling of it will be boring and the ending will have no suspense and excitement. The end matters more than the beginning and what really matters is that we are now together" she said as she caressed his face and played with his lips. Stylx drew her face close and stared into her blue eyes, "Thank you for making me happy, believing in me, never giving up and finally agreeing to be my own, I will.... " Stylx was stopped with a deep kiss from Nephla on his talking lips, he held her face as he returned the move with a deeper one. Just when clothes were about to go off, bangs were held on the doors. The two lovers disengaged as Stylx asked angrily who was disturbing him this early. "My lord, forgive me for disturbing your rest but your attention is urgently needed at the gates of Onyx" the culprit answered calmly but audibly from the doors of the royal chambers. Stylx recognised the voice, it was that of his palace messenger but what could be wrong this early he thought. "What is the problem Gity?" Stylx asked. "I'm sorry my Lord but you seeing it will be a better answer to your question my king" he replied
The hunting party of some starlights were still confused about what was going on in the woods where they had gone to for some games. The howlings continued even as the flashes of the flame swords kept the place moderately illuminated, the hunters were getting more frightened by each gruesome how as it was now evident that they were not alone and whatever was there with them was out to kill. The formed a circle like pattern as they scan the areas around them with panic filled hasty glances. Glowing eyes could be seen lurking by the trees around them, alas! They have been surrounded by the mysterious creatures. The hunters stopped their passing and lookings as the howlings seemed to have died down. They didn't make any sound or move as they were totally silent. Just almost immediately the creatures jumped out and attacked, the hunting party was taken by surprise as the creatures attacked with speed and precision. Shouts and screams were heard as the monsters mauled the hunters and tore their flesh by eye sore pieces. The struggling crawling upper body of one of the hunters made to leave the scene of the slaughter amidst painful moves and groans. What looked like the creatures head came to him and held his head before speaking the following words " Sitay uni vy eyr grio scaos vinre gre" as he allowed him crawl out of the woode leaving trails of blood behind him. He was nearing his last breath with each slowing down crawl as he looked up and saw the gates of Onyx, mustering the very last form of strength in him, he quickened his crawls hoping to get to the gates and deliver the warning before dying. Onyx needed to be aware that danger was lurking and the peaceful city had something big coming to it
As Stylx chariot approached the gates, the converging crowd began to quickly disperse, the starlights soldiers were already out by the gates and had formed their cover formation already as their king alighted from the gold covered carriage. He walked slowly to where the dead mutilated bodies lay, the cuts and wounds were still fresh, the report was that this was the bodies of some of the fishermen that went to the river just by the outskirts of Onyx early in the morning for their usual catches but instead were attacked and mutilated by attackers yet unknown." Have scouts be sent to the location of this attack? " Stylx asked. "Yes my lord, the trails of the blood was followed to the very point of the incident but no concrete evidence of what did this was seen but from the foot prints that followed the blood trails, we know that the killers must have been the ones that dropped the dead bodies here by themselves" the leader of the scout team answered. "So humans did this? You mean mortals are responsible for this slaughter?" Stylx asked as his voice now had some form of pain and anger in them. "Not sure yet my lord but judging from the footprints we saw, I think so" the commander replied again. "Someone is approaching from the woods" the watchman on duty screamed from the towers of Onyx to the gathering.
Stylx walked into the room looking like he had seen a ghost, it was almost dusk as Nephla was relieved to finally see him after he left her in bed and warned that she remained in the castle until he was back. Her relief was temporary though as she saw how odd looking Stylx was. The troubled king crashed tiredly in one of the seats in the room, he could still remember what the librarian told them not too long ago. The upper body of the hunter had been rushed to the healers house, he kept repeating that he had a message to deliver before dying as there was no point rescuing or saving his life seeing that he stood no chance to survive in his present condition. He narrated what had befell he and his colleagues as they went out for game that early morning. Midway into his story, it was discovered that it wasn't humans that attacked those corpses by the gate of Onyx and whatever must have carried out that attack must also be the one that attack the hunters as well owing to the fact that the route to both locations were the same and it was the same killing style of mutilation amd flesh ripping. As he gasped for his final breath, the hunter informed them that their assiliants left a message for King Stylx. The king came closer as the dying man coughed out those words with blood now forcing itself out with each word he said before he finally gave up the ghost. The librarian who was present in the room bent down immedaitely. When he raised his head again, for the first time ever since he had known him, King Stylx saw the most worrisome look on the well aged maestro. "Speak now, tell us the meaning of those words he just said" King Stylx ordered as the librarian tried to gain some momentum. "My lord, those words means that the day and night has mated and given birth to mystery and the mystery is out to swallow up Onyx. We are not looking at humans or animals here my lord, we are faced with creations of time and magic. Onyx is about to face its difficult resistance against the supernatural" The librarian said scaringly. "Is that why you are that frightened? Didn't we face a supernatural in the form of Gogla and defeated him?" King Stylx said as she chucked slightly. "My Lord, you don't get it, these creatures were Weoss allies when he created Onyx, they were the ones that provided all the neccessary powers needed in the building of this city apart from wisdom, they feel that Weoss shouldn't have allowed a mortal sit on the throne that they forged, they are here for revenge. The scary part is that they are not here to capture or rule the city, instead they are out to destroy totally the city of light and make it an history. We are not talking about an army my lord but rather a cluster of angels of darkness that were once masters of the light, Weoss fought them once and was badly wounded, Gogla and the fairies were the ones who sealed the vase of Ephonx and ensure that they couldn't see clearly and had to retreat, I suggest we all go to the courtroom so I can explain better" the librarian concluded. "Stylx!!!" were the words the king heard as he got back to the awareness of his surroundings. Nephla told him that she had been calling him since but he wasn't answering. Stylx apologised as he got to his feet. "What is wrong my love?" Nephla asked further as she drew closer in order to hold him. "I have to go now" Stylx said as he avoided his touch and madefor the doors. The slamming shut of the door confirmed Nephla's worry
Leaning by the doors he just slammed shut, King Stylx slid down the doors and crashed to the ground. He had always wanted to be king but this task before him was undauntly fearful and scary. How can he face off with creatures of time and entities that once had Weoss wounded. He had no Gogla or fairies to help him with this, this wasn't about armies or manpower like the librarian said earlier, this was a battle of the supernatural and ancient powers. He still doesn't know the full picture of the whole story jugding from what the librarian said about uncovering the full story when they were to converge later on. He could still remember what Weoss had told him the night after which he was crowned king, he didn't read much meaning to it but now it all made sense, every single word the Mystic Lion said were now fitting togetherAfter the whole burdensome crowning event, King Stylx had retired to the royal chambers. Smiling at the sculptor of him in the centre of the pathway to the
Stylx moved gradually into the cave as his name kept resounding on the walls due to the persistent calling of it by Weoss. He was scared because he knew that no one had seen Weoss and live, it was eithed the mystic lion was in its floating form or He speaks through intermediaries in order to pass His message across. As he approached the place where the name calling was coming from, he began to feel the heating effect of Weoss presence as he made to continue, he heard a voice that order him to stop, remove his sandals and proceed carefully in as Weoss hated the sound of footwears when in His presence as He felt the sounds were like impurities to His hearing. Stylx walked in carefully as he could hear the little rumbling sound of Weoss breathings. Then for the first time in his life, Stylx saw the figure of the Mystic Lion through the shadow it casted on the wall with its image, he knew best not to pry further in order to discover the full viee of Weoss as he knelt down, bowed his hea
Stylx couldn’t believe what has just happened to him in the cave, there were still a lot of unanswered questions in his heart. Weoss didn’t offer him the opportunity to clear those burning doubts in his mind, Coming down from the lofty mountain where the Eagles dropped him off, he felt somehow disappointed that his meeting with Weoss didn’t take that burden of curiosity off his mind. “ Gosh” he exclaimed as he missed his footing and painfully slid down some part of the mountain. ‘But come to think of it, He left assurances of ways to get Him and clear difficulties and doubts in his ruling, maybe he didn’t give him outright answers because He wanted him to be in close communication always and see the need to always have him around’’ he thought to himself as he sighed deeply and made his way into the woods Nephla heard sounds emanating from the royal room as she made her way si
“I know a lot of you may be wondering why I used such extremes measures on you last time, disrespecting and disregarding your public status and honors. Well, I must admit that it wasn’t easy subjecting you all to such treatment but I wanted to use that medium to make everyone of us understand that no one is bigger than the integrity and glory of this unique kingdom so any attempt to tread upon the glory of this kingdom with scorn will be greeted with measures as strict as the one that was meted out last time. So be it in any gathering be it small, great, insignificant or not, not minding who or what that are gathered, as far as it has something to do with Onyx then there must be utter orderliness and respect of proceedings in it. Nothing less than total respect for the city of lights” King Stylx said as he walked across the courtroom before gradually taking his seat on the throne of fire. All the council men remained standing as he spoke and only took their seats after voicing in af
The panting councilman panted heavily as he made through the dungeons of the river that flowed out of Onyx to other kingdoms in the Sunero. He knew that by now, his absconding would have already been noticed by the knights and a search for him would have already begun so any delay could enhance his recapturing. He felt really bad about the action he was taking and wished he could just turn himself in to the King but knowing fully well about the consequences of such act made him shrug off the thoughts and hastened up his weakening pace. He had to get to the outside of the walls before its mouth is cordoned off by the guards of Onyx.King Stylx was shocked when he got the news of the absconding councilman, of all the people he suspected, he was the last person to come to his mind. Why would he arrange a hit man to go after his army general daughter on her wedding day, why kill the innocent child for a grudge with the father based on an action he instructed the man to carr
“Why would he carry out such barbaric act against we the councilmen even if he got orders from the king, you should have said no. Have his men strip us and whip our backs to sore is simply unforgiveable? Walyx complained bitterly to Caglx as they walked towards their first council meeting after King Stlyx recalled them from suspension. “True but we had it coming, the king had always expressed his displeasure about lack of decorum in the court house, he practically had to beg us last time on it but yet we disregarded his pleas and made mockery of his warnings so we kind of had it coming” Caglx replied as he tried to defend the king’s actions knowing fully well how Walyx had always shown his displeasure towards King Stylx. Walyx gave Caglx the wicked look, hissed and walked away. “Hope you will be coming over to my place later tonight with your family, my wife is making a special meal tonight?”, Caglx shouted at him as he hurried into the courtroom.
Nephla walked slowly into the woods as she needed to clear her head, being the queen of Onyx wasn’t something regular for her and she felt anxious on how her leadership was going to be. She knew that Stylx was going to really need her services and there was no room for any mistake as that will spell issue not just for her and Stylx but the whole of Onyx, something that was sure to have huge consequences. She felt tired of walking and decided to rest on a rock, there was no aid as she had stopped her escorts from following her as she walked into the woods. Just then she was lost in thoughts and unknowingly slept off.Caglx was threading in the woods, he had a heated argument with his wife and decided to walk out so as to avoid making it physical, he murmured as he kept kicking stuffs on his path. He knew he was at fault but couldn’t bring himself to apologize to his wife. He knew he was in the urge for intimacy and the way he could rightfully get it w
Deep smokes emerges from the city of light as Onyx lies in ruins. The sky is darkened as the inferno rages on. The Aarangs are having a filled day as they cut through every starlight soldier that stood on their way. Women and children scampered for safety as they were not left out of the onslaught. The once heavily guarded kingdom was now at the mercy of Gogla and his demons. Bodies littered the once beautiful street as more and more fell to the swords of the invading army. If only the people of Onyx had listened, if only they heeded the warnings of Jalib, the seer but now it was too late for any form of hearkening"Weoss is warning, He will soon depart, return to Him all ye people of starlights. He is not happy, He needs you all to come back to him in repentance" The shabbily dressed Jalib cried out on the streets of Onyx as he moved from one point to another on each busy pathway. Women laughed at him and mocked him, children threw dirt and rotten food items at him, even the men shook
