CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

He walked to us majestically. Sparkles of lightning coming out of his eyes. I know Pit was a wizard like me and he knew a lot, just like I did. But something about his powers seemed different. His eyes never glow this bright. Ever.

Something was up.

“Pit, let’s just talk like civilized people. I don’t know what the hell you are pissed about. But I know we can talk about it. Just come down,” I spoke, raising my hands in surrender and Joseph did the same.

Carl moved in front of me as Pit raised his fireball at me. “You now have cats as bodyguards. What money can do? Anyway, didn’t come here to worst both my time and yours. I just wanted to tell you that you should stay away from my Maria,” he spoke with a smirk on his face.

“What—”

“Joseph, I got this,” I told him and went around Carl to face him. I was upset about what he and Maria did to me. And I was yet to make them pay for that. But I just needed to get this crap I was dealing with over with before getting back to them.
