Chapter 8 Confrontation

Aphrodite's POV

"My name is Venus." I smiled so much and I thought I'm showing my whole teeth to them. I'm so glad I arrived on time. Or this stupid guy will be in much danger or embarrassment. I know something bad will happen to him once he confronts this woman.

Well, I knew she's cheating. Because despite what I write about her love life plan, she chooses not to follow all of it. Humans can be so stupid when they are not contented with the good things they got. I feel sorry about this guy. I should prepare good stuff for him in the future.

I'm surprised when I felt his hand on my shoulder. Did he get my plan then? Good.

"Yes, Vera. She's my girlfriend."

Looking up to him, I can see much how affected he is. How sad his eyes look. He really likes this girl. Somehow I feel responsible for this. I did make him fall for her, somehow.

"I-I can't believe you got a new girlfriend so early, William! I didn't expect this!" the woman suddenly raised her voice. To think that her fiancé is there, what does she want now?

"What are you saying? Aren't you engaged to him? Did you even think it's so early?" This guy won't stop either. It's so obvious what he meant. I wanted to drag him outside.

Mr. Fiancée stood up. Holding her waist. "Babe, what's the problem? Is he the jerk ex-boyfriend you were talking about?" What the hell? He called him jerk?

The woman on the other hand finally pulled down to her real world and looks shocked when she looks at his fiancée. "I-it's nothing babe. It's fine."

And it looks like the other guy won't back down. I look at William only to realized he's not backing down either, should I used my power to drag him away? But no, it will catch too much attention.

"Baby, shouldn't we go now? I want to eat something." I insisted on going out now. First; because I hate the smell of this awful place. Second; I really hate my dress right now. And third; I'm really getting irritated with all these humans. Please make up your mind and let's go.

"I don't know what you are up to, marrying someone so early. But you should think about it more seriously. He will be with you forever, for the rest of your life. You need to be sure about your feelings." William is obviously still concern about his ex-girlfriend. Too hard to even look at his serious face now.

"Let's go." He said to me, and I just nodded. This person, he must be so much into her.

As we walk away, Vera suddenly shouts. "You only say that because I easily declined your marriage proposal, right? You can't accept the fact that I said no to you. Admit it, you're still in love with me."

William stops walking, but he never looks back. And I'm behind pissed right now, so I look back at them. "I'm sorry Vera, but we didn't understand what you are saying. Maybe some other time?" I smiled at her so brightly, that even the other guys inside that place swoon over me. Yeah, goddess of love here.

After I successfully irritating Vera, we continued walking.

Now the question is, what will be his reaction?

William's POV

All in all, I really don't understand what just happened. Why this woman saves me or what is she thinking about saving me. I keep on dragging her outside of the bar.

I didn't expect her to walk along with me until she suddenly stops.

When I look around, it's already a deserted place. No people around. Did I seriously brought a girl to a deserted place? What will she think?

"Can you please stop dragging me away? I can walk on my own." Says the woman who just snatches away her hand.

"I-I'm sorry-" I just blurted out.

She's looking more pissed, now that I'm facing her. What is her problem, acting like that? She must be thinking I will do something bad to her. But right, she should be like that.

But before anything, I have to confirm something.

"Why did you do that?" is what slipped on my mouth. I'm so eager to learn how and why did she help me. More importantly, who is she? Just out of nowhere, she suddenly appeared.

"No, thank you? Isn't it a good courtesy to thank someone who helps you?" she said while fixing her long hair and not looking at me.

But she did save me. I could end up fighting that jerk if she didn't appear. But why do I have this feeling that she's madder than me?

"I do thank you for helping me out. But why? And who are you?" I feel a bit impatient, she's looking at me with her bored eyes. It's a bit darker here, but I can see her eyes.

"It's simple. You're about to do a stupid act once again. I just need to be hands-on with my job."

What is she saying? I don't get it.

"What do you even mean?" Who is she really? I'm really confused. She's talking like it's her everyday job to meddle with people's business.

"You're about to ask your ex-girlfriend if that guy is the reason she didn't accept your proposal, right?" she directly points it out. How did she know?

This girl is really weird, right?

"Can you be more specific? How did you even know all of that? Listen, miss, I am seriously asking you. I'm not into games. Stop playing by meddling with people's business!" I can't hide my irritation.

She just smiled at me. "You humans are foolish, thinking you are right every time you open your mouth. And yes, I know everything." He confidently says those words while looking straight at me.

"Who are you?" I said that and suddenly the surroundings stop. The sounds, the people talking in the background, even the sound of the cars from far away. I also noticed that things literally stop.

Everything stops and she's looking at me. Walking towards me.

Am I done for?
