"Shhh... Follow me closely, let's go check it out." Gabriel uttered in a hurry and led the way as they climbed up the stairs that leads to the passage that is inside the house, and when they entered the sitting room, they opened the window curtains slowly and peeped through to see for themselves but the noise of the gunshots seems to have travelled far from the vicinity.
Gabriel closed the curtain and stared right into her eyes — she had a dark brown almond shaped eyes which was a perfect match for her straight nose and round lips. Her side-swept long bangs also made her soft-angled eyebrows speak of a beautiful beyond description. And as she stared back, she was persuaded to believe that he was not afraid and that she was going to be safe with him. She admired his well trimmed beards which made his pointed roman-like nose much cute than when she last saw it, but she never seem to take her eyes off his thin lips, though his charming close set eyes were enough to make her love him more, especially when he flattens his almost hard angled eyebrows. [Cleared throat] "I think we should head back to the basement now." Madison whispered as though she knew there was something still out there; for the moment she spoke, they heard a sound of something speaking not too far from them and the voice was like breaking from one medium of airy interface to another and was purely ambient. „traaphik reezzzz fliirrk„ That seems to be all they could hear that they had to open the curtain a little. They could not believe their eyes when they saw a creature about the size of a bear but having the skin of a gorilla yet standing like a mortal man on the fence. It's skin was black all through and it had a long arm with notable sharp claws but there was no such thing as a horn as most people imagine a demon creature to be. It was there for about three minutes from the time they opened the curtain and all of a sudden, it leaped towards the street and vanished out of their sight. "F*ck! Tell me you saw that, Madison. This is really happening." Gabriel muttered, sounding a bit nervous and she nodded her heard, replying without taking his nervousness as a sign of fear. "Yes it is, Gabriel. So, whatever it is that the angel I believe whom you saw must have said, you need to take it more seriously and let us find a way to stop these things. At least we have to do something to defend Hanford until the government comes to our aid. As for saving the world, I have no plans for that and I am in no support of it because I can't afford to lose you." Madison kept talking on their way to the basement. "I must say I am taking all these seriously now that I have seen what we are up against. Help me get this thing up." He muttered and lifted the silver titanium alloys placing them one after the other on a hot fiery slope to forge it to his desired shape according to the vessels he had placed to receive the molten substance. Soon, they both began to sweat and the place was as hot as hell on one side of the basement where he was forging the suit meant for Optimus. At some point, Madison declared,"...this is a whole lot of work for one man. What if I was not here to help?..." "That's why you are here. I can't begin to imagine otherwise. Thank God you are here to help me out." He added. While waiting for the alloys to cool down, he faced the skeletal part of the robot to ensure everything else was okay and well connected... "Gabriel, do you think this fight is about you creating a robot? What if the angel you encountered was trying to tell you that you will be the one to fight those things?" Madison asked the minute she felt her stomach shivering for fear of losing him. "Haha, that's kind of funny, you know. C'mon, Madison, it can not possibly be that he is asking me to fight something like that. I am sure that will be suicide. Did you not see that thing out there? Definitely no angel in his right mind would ask me to go after that. Look, I believe he was indirectly saying that I have to work on my robotic project and create as many as possible to defend earth... Come to think of it, why would I be receiving such huge amount of money from an unknown source. Definitely this is the angelic support he talked about and he must have trusted me to use the money wisely in creating robots." Gabriel sputtered disagreeably "Well, if you ask me, I sincerely do not think he must have left you without anything. What about the friends he said you are to find and unite yourself together for this purpose? Do you think they are people who are going to be passionate about robots as you? We both know it is definitely not possible to find anybody in Hanford who is as passionate to create a robot as you. All the guys we know bought theirs." Madison protested. "We are about to find out. For now, help me, let us suit this thing up." Gabriel muttered, asking for help with the lifting of the chest protective coating made of gold titanium alloys, and after that, they both went for the arms and legs and thighs... Clothing Optimus till there was no layer left unprotected. The joints around Optimus knee and elbows were ball-like, even to the ends of it's ankle and every other movable area excluding its neck, though Gabriel coated it all in a way that no amount of bullet hit, no matter how upgraded the weapon is, could ever penetrate to damage any internal circuit, internally. "Phew, this definitely took a long time to put together. This looks way better than all the robots I have seen out there, both on the online store. Gabriel, You are a genius if this thing should come up." Madison Parker commented having her hands on her waist while watching him seal the remaining part of its feet, working so seriously with a soldering iron and some other instruments. "Now let's have you come alive, Optimus!" Gabriel declared enthusiastically and sat on a chair with his laptop, proceeding to initiate the boot system remotely.Ping! The system completed the boot process, reaching hundred percent in total. The minute it completed, Gabriel took his eyes off the screen of his laptop to look at Optimus with believes that it should have powered up or responded but there was nothing: no sign of anything turning on, unlike before when it did come alive. Madison glanced at Gabriel from time to time while looking at the robot with hopes too; despite the fact that she has not seen the robot power up at anytime, though Gabriel do tell her that he had seen it happen thrice. "Gabriel, now what?" She asked because she was beginning to get nervous and uncomfortable with the silence. "I don't know. I have tried everything and have applied everything Mr. Wyman showed me yesterday. I believe I have corrected the previous errors. At least it should have shown a sign or something, shit!" Gabriel sputtered showing signs of frustration but she placed her left arm on his shoulders to ensure he does not escalate in anger. "Ca
– [Ten minutes earlier] –...song humming... Madison kept staring at the lifeless robot and admiring it's form while making some melodious notes in her vocals. The head of Optimus had a spherical shape but it's face mask looks rectangular, coupled with ears made of steel but these have internal antennas having multiple functions according to Gabriel's already installed program. The ears were pointed backwards like that of a fairy and the entire parts of its body patterned like a man but robotically cylindrical at the abdomen, hexagonally prismal along its arms and legs, having a resemblance like diamond on its chest region with each part linking to another of apparent length as a humans body could be. The gold titanium alloys covered a greater part of its chest, the mask on its face, arms, thigh and feet, whereas, it's forehead and the rest part were made of silver titanium alloys: a perfect image of a man and indented creativity. Madison kept admiring the designs and feeling very
"Yeah sure, come with us." Madison said, expressing a great measure of cheerfulness in a way that made Optimus respond upon rising up on its feet. "You now look happy and I could feel you are a very friendly person, Madison." Optimus declared. She kind of halted and turned to look at Optimus the moment she heard him mention her name on her way up the stairs. "Wait! Gabriel, did Optimus just learn to mention my name or you programed it that way?" She was obviously surprised... Gabriel's reply was without hesitation, "No, I didn't. But I believe he is configured in a way that makes it prone to learning successfully as any human." Optimus did not hear her because she was right in front of Gabriel and Optimus was way down and about to begin climbing up the stairs because it was analyzing and contemplating on how to get its foot started on the stairs: invariably, Optimus was learning everything like a child and observing everything carefully to know how to approach life. "Your dad will
Winston Gray immediately responded, running up the stairs and wondering what was happening to his son, but the minute he opened the door, the wings which were cleaved to the skin at Gabriels back, disappeared instantly, as if they were folded right into the skin of his dorsal. "What is it, Gabriel?" His dad asked as quickly as he could. "Can't you see?..." Gabriel asked his dad and immediately touched his left dorsum with his right hand, and wondering why he could not feel the wings at his back, he turned around immediately to look himself in the mirror to his greatest surprise, there were no wings anymore. "See what, Gab? I heard you yell." Mr. Winston Gray asked again, having this inquisitive facial expression... "It was right here, there was... I had wings dad... I saw them while looking at the mirror... I..." Gabriel stuttered as he turned his neck around again, staring right into his dad's wondering eyes which suddenly normalized the moment he took his first step to get closer
...what the heck is happening to me, how did I make it disappear? Am I in control of this thing?... He muttered to himself as he kept observing his body for he was only putting on a trouser at this point in time and was yet to take his bath. Whilst he was muttering, he thought of himself having wings and all of a sudden, Vlooop!! The wings popped up again and he was like,"Wow!" This time, he was a bit excited though scared of having something of that nature change his appearance and making him look angelic... As he stared at the wings through the mirror, he kept wondering how possible that is, that he now possess's wings... While he admired it, he soon imagined not having wings at all and instantly, he watched as the wings shrunk and vanished again. He felt the difference in strength, because he could feel he has so much energy when the wings was there, compared to his normal self when the wings was gone. [Deep breath... Exhales...] He quickly imagined himself having those wings
She stared right into his eyes as though she was in doubt and then requested... "Any means of identity please?" She asked and immediately put forth her right hand as he reacted with gestures that shows he has something. Gabriel touched both sides of his trouser pockets trying to figure out where he kept his ID card... "There it is. Here!" Gabriel half exclaimed with a smile on his face the minute he took it out of his left pocket and handed it over to her. No doubts she wanted to be sure he was the one because they all knew the guy they were expecting is a special client, they don't want to be talking to a third-party but to the right person, seeing they were going to be revealing sensitive information to him. "Welcome sir. Sorry for the inconveniences, just following protocol. This way, I will lead you." She apologized and declared audibly while she led him to Mrs Finn's office at the third floor. The lady placed her hand on the door of Mrs Finn's office for a scan some minutes af
"Yes, we could go with you, if that's okay with you." Jain replied. "Good. It's fine." Gabriel nodded. "Very well then, may I also ask, this person who is high above your reach and mine, how do you explain to us that you have any form of relationship with this person resulting in the release of such huge sum of money. How did you get to know this person? Or is it some kind of secret you want to keep from us you decided to use such words?" Mrs Finn asked with a curious look around her eyes. "About that, I would rather keep it classified for now. Or is there any consequences?" Gabriel asked with some kind of suspicious facial expressions and she immediately never wanted him to start having doubts about them because she felt she was going too far beyond her boundaries she had to respond as quickly as possible,"No, not that there are any, but then, we would have loved to know. If we don't, we are surely going to have limits to which we are gonna help you when it has to do with matter
//Year 2040// [Sierra Nevadas, Fresno, California]>> krrr krr krr krr krr krr "Do you have eyes on it?"...the trembling voice of a soldier muttered in the silence of the gross dark night in Sequoia National Forest located at the southernmost end of the Sierra Nevadas. "No boss, but Ricky too is dead! I can't see shit, captain!" The fainting voice of his teammate echoed with just a whisper as the leaves of the trees and grasses fluttered in the cold wind around them.... "I thought I saw it just now! That shit is invincible sometimes... I'm out of ammo..." Another soldier who was already jittering and full of fear kept sputtering until he was told to be quiet..."Shush! Stay frosty!" The captain ordered. "Ahhhhh... argh... aahhhh!" The soldier who was jittering screamed in anguish and his voice died out in the midst of the darkness as an alien's blade pierced through his left thigh and dragged him away from the rest of his teammates...
