Chapter 56

The night felt longer. Even though the soft bed was where Franklin lay, since earlier Franklin had been yawning but couldn't fall asleep because of something on his mind that had made him ponder for hours. He tried to close his eyes but the voices in his head seemed to be heard in the real world.

From where he lay comfortably, Franklin stared blankly at the window whose curtains were not yet closed. Franklin was used to opening the window curtains so that the moonlight in the middle of this month could penetrate into his room.

"Mother never discussed anything with me," Franklin muttered. "Throughout our time living together, not once did Mother tell me about any issues regarding my late father's family."

The second hand of the clock kept turning and made its characteristic ticking sound, which Franklin ignored. Everything seemed unimportant when Franklin faced Frans, who didn't want to be honest about a past incident that caused the current destruction.
