Chapter 22

Jake groggily opened his eyes, the sun peeking through his window and signaling the start of a new day. He rubbed his eyes and sat up in bed, feeling a sense of unease. It had been months since he last saw his twins, Tonia and Tony.

He got out of bed and headed to the bathroom, splashing water on his face and brushing his teeth. As he walked back to his room, he heard a faint buzzing noise coming from his phone. It was a message from Michael,but he has to ignore it because he has an important appointment to catch up with.

ever since Dorin had treated him poorly when he was struggling financially. But the thought of his daughter being sick was too much for him to ignore.

He quickly got dressed, pulling on a rough pair of jeans and a t-shirt. He didn't care about looking presentable; all he cared about was seeing his daughter. He grabbed his keys and headed out the door, his mind racing with worry.
