Chapter 257

The ringing of the phone woke Archer up from what he would call the best sleep of his life. Cocooned in his arms was Madison who slept with no worries.

He reached for the phone and received the call.

The automated voice came on at once, “If you would like to receive this call, please press one,”

Archer furrowed his brows and clicked one, Barrington’s voice filled his ear.

“Archer,”

“Barrington,”

They paused with nothing to say to each other. Archer was still confused as to why he was called but he refused to speak first.

“I am in jail,” Barrington said.

“I am aware. The voice thing told me,”

“I need to get out of here,”

Archer chuckled, “I don’t see why calling me would do that for you,”

“Drop the charges,”

“Is that an order?”

“No, I am begging you to please drop the charge. I am heavily affected by this, my wife, my business and my reputation is at stake here,”
