Chapter 30 Respect
"Where will you get off?" Robert inquired as the taxi continued its journey.

"Before I get home," Newton responded, intentionally vague.

"Why? Are you not going home today?" Robert probed further, his curiosity evident.

"Does it matter?" Newton countered, not revealing his true intentions.

Despite passing Robert's street, Robert seemed unfazed by the fact.

"Robert, we passed your street," Newton reminded him, hoping to redirect the cab.

"Oh, I know. I want to stop over there," Robert replied, gesturing vaguely to an ambiguous location.

"...Okay," Newton reluctantly agreed, playing along with Robert's nosiness.

As minutes turned into thirty, the cab continued on its way, and Newton's suspicion grew. He had initially planned to disembark near his house and take another cab to Green Tree Hospital without Robert's knowledge. However, it appeared that Robert was determined to stick around.

Both men remained silent in the cab until Newton finally broke the silence.
