Chapter 5 Lee Business

Newton opted to reside in the impoverished neighborhood due to its proximity to his school.

Simultaneously, he was gradually embracing his newfound existence as a clandestine influential figure.

Although he possessed wealth, he did not flaunt it.

His mansion remained a well-kept secret.

Despite owning a luxurious sports car, it remained unseen by others.

While commanding a ring of mobsters, he maintained an understated demeanor.

Although a billionaire with millions in his bank account, he conscientiously projected an air of humility.

On a Monday morning at Bayfield College, Newton had just arrived at the school and was settling into his first class when he encountered a familiar face deliberately crossing his path.

"Watch where you're going, penniless boy!" the aggressor shouted.

The individual in question was Jeremiah Lee.

Jeremiah held a deep-seated hatred for Newton since their first encounter, perceiving him as excessively proud.

Despite his financial struggles, Newton never allowed others to mock him. He possessed intelligence, handsomeness, and contentment with his modest circumstances.

He never succumbed to the pressure of idolizing individuals like Jeremiah, who hailed from the influential Lee family, or other affluent students from powerful backgrounds.

Jeremiah's animosity toward Newton was further fueled by his feelings for Rhoda.

Having developed a soft spot for Rhoda, he believed Newton was undeserving of someone as attractive as her, despite Jeremiah not having done anything for her.

In the past, Newton would have ignored Jeremiah's provocations, but this time he brushed him off.

Whoever this Lee boy was, Newton was certain he was inconsequential and not as formidable as he portrayed himself to be.

Observing Newton's newfound courage to confront him, Jeremiah decided to unleash his wrath upon him. He aimed to teach Newton a harsh lesson while simultaneously instilling fear and garnering respect from the other students.

The classroom was now filled with eager spectators, anticipating a fight.

"Oh my God, does the destitute kid have a death wish?"

"Who in the world would dare to challenge Jerry?" The students believed Newton was exhibiting self-destructive behavior.

Jeremiah's ego had reached new heights...

*Smack!*

He slapped Newton across the face.

Surprised by Newton's reaction, Jeremiah was accustomed to slapping his acquaintances and receiving immediate apologies in return.

Without a word, Newton calmly exited the classroom and returned an hour later, just in time for his next class.

As the class settled down, awaiting the arrival of the lecturer, whispers circulated among the students seated behind Newton. "I hope he doesn't end up getting killed."

They were well aware of Jeremiah Lee's reputation and the wrath his father could unleash upon anyone who crossed their family.

"I hope Jerry doesn't inform his dad about this," remarked another student.

After two hours, the class concluded, and everyone dispersed to their respective destinations.

Outside the class, Newton was approached by a group of boys, with Jeremiah leading the pack.

"You've just sealed your fate, penniless boy," Jeremiah whispered to Newton as he continued walking with his companions.

Ignoring the taunt, Newton quickened his pace, determined to pass by them.

One of the boys with Jeremiah attempted to trip Newton by extending his leg. However, Newton effortlessly stepped over the outstretched legs and continued on his way, distancing himself from the group.

As he prepared to cross the street, a car abruptly halted in front of him. Two imposing men leaped out, seizing Newton, while a third swiftly covered his head with a black hood. Newton was swiftly ushered into the vehicle, the door shut, and the car sped away.

When Newton regained consciousness, he found himself in complete darkness. "Where am I?" he called out. "Who are you people?"

His questions were met with silence in the dimly lit room.

An hour later, the door creaked open, resembling the sound of a garage door being lifted. Footsteps drew closer to Newton, but his vision remained obscured by the black hood.

"Remove the bloody hood," a deep, raspy voice commanded.

Newton opened his eyes, confronted by four men standing before him. Three were clad in red jackets and black jeans, while a tall, commanding figure stood behind them. This man, in his sixties, exuded authority and appeared to be giving orders.

"So, you're the little runt who had the audacity to punch my son in the face yesterday, aren't you?" the imposing man questioned Newton.

Bending down, he locked eyes with Newton. "Do you even comprehend who we are? Do you have any idea who the damn Lees are?"

It all clicked for Newton. He had been abducted by Jeremiah's father. This was the Lee mob that his own father and Drax had warned him about. He was now in the presence of the infamous Mr. Lee himself.

"He provoked me," Newton muttered in his defense.

*Thud!*

Newton was struck in the face by one of the Lee men, the impact jolting him.

"Who do you think you are?!" Mr. Lee bellowed, his voice filled with fury.

He yanked Newton's hair, forcing their faces closer together, his voice dripping with menace. "For this wickedness, I shall ensure you suffer a slow and agonizing death."

With Mr. Lee's breath on his face, Newton maintained a steadfast gaze, staring into his cold eyes.

Another Lee member joined in, landing a brutal punch on Newton's face. "How dare you meet the boss's eyes?" he shouted.

The blows were taking their toll on Newton, threatening to plunge him into unconsciousness, but he fought to retain his awareness.

"What's that ring on his finger?" one of the Lees exclaimed in horror, pointing at Newton's hand.

Mr. Lee shifted his attention to Newton's hands, securely bound to the chair's armrests.

His eyes fixated on Newton's finger, recognizing the ring bearing an "N" symbol.

"What is your name, son?" Mr. Lee inquired, his tone tinged with curiosity.

"Newton Norton the second," Newton responded, a touch of pride in his voice.

His expression seemed to convey a warning: "You have stirred the hornet's nest—beware!"

Instantly, Mr. Lee rose to his feet, brushing off his clothes. He surveyed his men's faces with a perplexed gaze.

"We had no idea, boss," one of the men acknowledged, astutely reading his boss's expression.

"It's my fault," another admitted.

"I didn't think the ring held any significance, sir. I assumed it was just some trinket these kids wear," the startled Lee confessed.

Mr. Lee rubbed his temples in a panic. "Get this scum out of here. Drop him off at the same spot where you found him," he commanded his men.

Without delay, they released Newton from his restraints, swiftly ushered him into their car, and sped away.

The vehicle came to a halt at the precise location where they had initially seized him. They forcibly pushed Newton out, flung his cell phone toward him, and promptly drove off, leaving him there.
