Chapter 147

Daniel slowly opened his eyes; they did not feel heavy but instead were light, as if he had just gotten up from a long, good nap. His body felt light too, there was no pain or any heaviness in his chest like previously.

He quickly got up from the small bed and looked around. He was still in the small lab.

"Rexa?" He called out.

"DANIEL, GET BACK TO SLEEP; YOU ARE STILL WEAK," she advised.

"How long have I been here?" He asked.

"ONE WEEK AND THREE DAYS."

Daniel froze in horror.

"THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT I MANAGED TO RETRIEVE ALL THE RADIATION," she announced.

"What's the bad news?" He asked.

"I HAVE NO ENERGY, SO SHOULD YOU GO OUT THERE, I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PROTECT YOU, she replied.

Daniel was quiet; all the energy they were saving for his aunt was wasted on him. His enemies dragged him back to square one. He closed his eyes, his hands clenched into fists.

"AND THERE IS SURVEILLANCE AROUND THIS PLACE; SOMEONE FOUND YOUR CAR, SO I WOULD NOT ADVISE GOING OUTSIDE," she advised.
